Addicted After Marriage: Marrying My Abstinent Boss-Chapter 198: Don’t Make My Wife Feel Wronged
Ansel Gallagher started busying himself in the kitchen.
Faye Ellison glanced at his back with obvious disdain for his interruption.
Sophia Lowell noticed.
"Where did this bodyguard come from, acting like this?" Faye couldn’t help but complain.
Sophia chuckled, "Zane saved him during a mission at the border before, and he’s been following him ever since. I’ve heard it’s been many years now."
"He doesn’t seem too bright."
"He’s been injured, but his brain should be fine." Sophia sat on the sofa in the living room.
Faye lay on a rocking chair on the other side.
Beside him were the fruits Ansel had washed.
You say he’s foolish, yet he’s not; you say he’s not foolish, yet he fails to understand human speech.
After more than half an hour, the kitchen started emitting delightful aromas.
"Madam, come have dinner." Ansel put down the apron hanging around his neck.
Sophia glanced at him and then towards Faye.
"Should I bring it over for you?" she asked.
Faye laughed, "Sure."
Unexpectedly, Ansel was faster than Sophia and brought a big bowl of cooked dishes over, placing it next to the fruits.
"Mr. Ellison, should I feed you?" Ansel asked earnestly.
"..." Faye sighed.
He really needed to find a way to get rid of this eyesore.
He slowly sat up a little.
The pain from his back made him slow down.
Sophia stepped forward, standing nearby, afraid he might fall.
"Careful." She didn’t help, just stayed by.
"Mr. Ellison wouldn’t have such a weak back." Ansel commented.
"Thank you!" Faye moved into a comfortable position, enduring the pain.
Really, thanks!
"You’re welcome." Ansel inquired with concern, "Really don’t need to be fed?"
Faye stared intensely, gritting his teeth, "No need!"
What does this person want to do?
Trying to annoy him to death?
After he spoke, Ansel didn’t linger and said to Sophia, "Madam, come eat."
"Okay." Sophia nodded, then turned to Faye, asking, "Is anyone staying with you tonight?"
If not, she could leave Ansel there.
That’s what she thought.
Faye looked at Ansel, filled with disdain, really fearing Sophia would say to let him stay.
"Chester will come over later, don’t worry."
If you’re worried, you could also come and stay with me tonight.
If he said that, Ansel would surely say, "Let me do it. Don’t inconvenience my madam."
In the middle of the night, Zane, that dog man, might even video call without clothes to show off in front of him.
Not worth it.
"Alright." Sophia was relieved.
She sat down at the dining table to eat her dinner.
Actually, Ansel’s cooking skills weren’t bad. Initially, she thought he would cook something Faye couldn’t swallow, but the taste was unexpectedly good.
Ansel carried his bowl, picked some dishes, and sat beside Faye to accompany him.
Faye gave him an unkind look.
What trick was he up to now?
Ansel wasn’t up to any tricks, just quietly eating while watching him.
Faye only felt creeped out.
The meal tasted good, but Faye ate as if he was chewing on wax.
Finally, when Chester and his female secretary came over, Ansel left, but Sophia also left.
He felt uncomfortable.
When returning, Ansel’s chauffeur had already driven to Faye’s villa. Sophia sat in her own car, and Ansel took her home.
Sophia felt drained over the past two days.
As soon as she touched the bed, she slept.
Though she didn’t feel anything yesterday when she fell, the next day she felt sore all over when she got up.
You could imagine how painful Faye must be right now.
She lay on the bed, groggily staring at her phone. Today, she didn’t know where Zane went; not much information, even messaging him took a long time to respond.
She sent him a good night, snapped a picture of home for him, then fell asleep.
The next morning.
Hugh Irving was already waiting in the first-floor hall early.
"Why are you here?" Sophia’s eyelids felt heavy, descending the stairs with a hint of discomfort.
"Didn’t you say yesterday we’d go see Faye today? What, slept and forgot?" Hugh sat at the dining table, eating breakfast Aunt Sutton had just made.
Sophia frowned, seeming to remember such a thing, how did she forget?
She sat opposite Hugh, leisurely eating shrimp dumplings.
"Why does this taste strange?" Midway, she looked at the shrimp dumplings in her bowl.
"Does it?" Hugh picked one up, stuffing it into his mouth, "No, it’s just this taste, and Aunt Sutton made them fresh this morning."
Sophia finished another shrimp dumpling, then a bun.
Great, everything she ate tasted bland.
Could it be a side effect from that day she got hit?
This breakfast, she ate without taste.
After breakfast, Ansel had gone somewhere, and Butler Langley said he’d take over.
Sophia didn’t find it inappropriate; she felt weak all over and didn’t want to drive.
Hugh didn’t want to drive either; these past days busy with hospital matters made his head feel doubled.
They first went to Faye’s place, bringing breakfast from Aunt Sutton. Sophia hadn’t eaten much, packed the leftover, there was quite a bit, should be enough for him.
Faye had a good night’s sleep.
Seeing Sophia and Hugh come over, without seeing Ansel behind them, he let out a sigh of relief.
At least today there was no random person affecting his mood.
The two stayed at Faye’s for a while, then got up to leave; they had to go to the hospital to visit Mrs. Irving.
Faye, knowing about Hugh’s issues, didn’t force them to stay.
At the hospital, Ethan Sinclair was already there tidying up Mrs. Irving’s morning breakfast boxes.
"You’re here, why not sleep a bit longer?" Ethan’s gaze fell on Hugh.
Before they could speak, Mrs. Irving, Shirley White, praised, "Such a nice young man, came before work to bring me breakfast."
Shirley was well-maintained, with a healthy complexion; even in middle age, her figure remained perfect due to years of yoga.
But now on the bed, her spirits weren’t as high as before.
Ethan chuckled.
Shirley didn’t have major issues, just ended up in the hospital due to a fit caused by a young man.
She didn’t want to be discharged, wanting to see if Charles Sinclair would come again.
Unexpectedly, after coming to check yesterday, he didn’t show up again.
"Mom, if you’re fine, just get discharged; everyone’s pretty busy." Hugh sighed.
She knew exactly what her mom was up to.
Shirley felt a bit annoyed.
"Since I’m already hospitalized, might as well do a full-body checkup. I’ve booked one for Aunt Sutton, but I need to go to the company today to handle something." Ethan explained.
Hugh didn’t want to inconvenience him, "If you have work, go ahead, don’t always run over; she’s not missing limbs, can handle many things herself. Besides, there are caregivers."
She complained somewhat.
She didn’t want too many people knowing about her and Ethan.
She didn’t plan to marry.
Not even wanting to date.
Initially, choosing to contact Ethan at any time was to avoid this kind of situation.
But despite signing the agreement, Ethan seemed to constantly find ways to break their mutual pact.
The situation was becoming more uncontrollable.
