If she left him disappointed because of this, Chen Feng would feel regret and pity, but he wouldn't feel remorse.

Early the next morning, Chen Feng received a message from Lin Yujiao, saying she'd be driving over to Xiu Zhou that afternoon and would contact him once she arrived.

Chen Feng sent her an OK, then waited for her arrival.

However, while waiting for Lin Yujiao, Chen Feng was also awaiting updates from Zhang Jingwen.

Having been stood up by her yesterday, Chen Feng didn't want a repeat today. As for whether it would clash with meeting Lin Yujiao, it didn't really concern him, since he would definitely honor Zhang Jingwen's appointment first.

Compared to meeting Lin Yujiao, sealing the deal with Zhang Jingwen was definitely more important. Additionally, Chen Feng would do his best to stagger the timing.

If Zhang Jingwen kept her word to meet him, Chen Feng aimed to wrap it up within an hour or two. Even if Lin Yujiao had to wait for him for that long, it wouldn't be a big deal.

Of course, it would be best if the meeting times didn't overlap.

While contemplating whether to proactively contact Zhang Jingwen, Yu Xiaohui, his new neighbor, messaged him, saying she wanted to come over to his place for a visit and sneak in a swim in the pool.

It's late August now, and the weather isn't very hot in the morning; plus, his pool isn't heated, so it's bound to be a bit chilly.

Thus, the three of them at home hadn't gone to the pool in recent days.

Now that Yu Xiaohui wanted to swim, Chen Feng felt that her intentions might not be purely about swimming. After all, it was just him at home now, as Sun Xiaorui and Wu Mengting were off at work.

Chen Feng simply didn't respond to her message, acting as if he hadn't seen it, hoping she'd get the hint.

But after a few minutes, Yu Xiaohui called him directly.

The phone rang for quite a while without being hung up, leaving Chen Feng helplessly answering it.

"What's up?" Chen Feng asked somewhat impatiently.

"I just sent you a WeChat message, didn't you see it? We want to come to your house to swim; open the door."

The one speaking was Lou Xiaojiao.

"It's still morning, why are you swimming? The water's cold in this weather, you know my pool isn't heated."

"It's okay. Our bodies can handle it. We want to swim to stay fit, and exercise."

"Better forget about it. It's colder now, especially in the morning; the water's freezing. If you really want to swim, maybe come around noon when it's hottest."

"What's with you? We're old classmates and now neighbors. What are you doing, being so difficult about us just visiting? Are you worried we'll eat you? Hurry up and open the door; we're coming over."

After saying this, Lou Xiaojiao hung up the call.

Faced with this bold classmate, Chen Feng felt at a loss. After thinking it over, he got up, picked up the remote for the electric gate from the coffee table, walked to the door, and pressed the remote, opening part of the iron gate for people to pass through.

Soon enough, Yu Xiaohui and Lou Xiaojiao arrived.

This time, their outfits coordinated quite well: Yu Xiaohui had her hair up, wearing a white tight-fitting short sleeve shirt with a heart-shaped neckline showing a patch of white at her chest and a finely matched thin gold chain; her bust was substantial.

Below, she wore light-blue denim shorts with holes, showing off her fair thighs.

She was slightly chubby, so her legs appeared less slender than ample and fleshy.

Lou Xiaojiao sported a ponytail, T-shirt, and denim shorts, but her T-shirt was looser, unable to compete with Yu Xiaohui's figure. Given her height of barely 160 centimeters, her legs weren't particularly long either.

Nonetheless, her body was fairly proportionate; not very pretty but not ugly either, being quite pleasant over time. More importantly, her personality, though imbued with society's vibe, was straightforward and spirited; once you're friends with her, it's hard to truly dislike her, as she was wealthy, generous, and genuinely good to her friends.

Chen Feng inevitably glanced at them twice, mostly at Yu Xiaohui's "plump thighs," only realizing when they'd approached the pool, using the remote to close the electric iron gate.

"You're something else; we two beautiful ladies voluntarily came to visit, and you're still hemming and hawing," Lou Xiaojiao teased as soon as she arrived.

Chen Feng naturally wasn't too bothered, smiling and inviting them with a gesture, saying: "Alright. Ladies, please come in."

The two women smiled subtly, indicating their satisfaction.

Chen Feng was relatively familiar with them now, having spent several consecutive days together before. Both women were quite familiar with his home now too.

Thus, upon entering the living room, Lou Xiaojiao walked straight to the kitchen fridge, grabbing two bottles of juice for herself and Yu Xiaohui — fruit juices they specially bought; supposed to be pure, tangy, sweet, no additives, tasty, healthy, and beautifying.

"Chen Feng, what's the point of you being holed up at home every day?" Lou Xiaojiao teased while sipping juice.

Chen Feng shot her a white-eyed look, saying: "There's plenty of fun, scrolling through my phone daily, reading novels, watching videos, no worries about food or drink, plus beautiful company — what's not to enjoy?"

Lou Xiaojiao thought for a moment, nodding as she said: "True enough. You don't lack money or women; you don't even have to work or cook, if I were you, I'd be blissful too."

"Glad you get it." Chen Feng responded and teased, "Actually, you could enjoy a lifestyle like mine too."

Now it was Lou Xiaojiao's turn to give him a sulky look, saying: "How can we compare to you? First, we have to buy groceries, cook our meals, not because we don't want a maid, but due to mistrust, and wanting something to do. Second, we don't have your money or male company."

Also, we each have kids, unlike you who has none. Even though they're not living with us, we have to video call them for an hour or two, worrying daily about their matters — how can we compare?"

Chen Feng chuckled, nodding, saying: "True enough. You're women, I'm a man; there are inherent differences hard to match my carefree lifestyle."

That remark was rather provoking. Both women gave him a collective glare, Yu Xiaohui included.

Lou Xiaojiao shifted topics, asking: "When you're home alone, do you just play on your phone? Do you do anything else?"

"Of course, I do other things." Chen Feng didn't hide it from them, telling them, "I usually meditate an hour or two daily, sometimes even longer."

"Meditate? Practicing Qigong?" Lou Xiaojiao widened her eyes, and Yu Xiaohui looked at him curiously.

"Kind of. However, it differs slightly from Qigong; it's just ordinary sitting meditation, adjusting breath and mindset, relaxing body and spirit, reaching a serene and calm state."

The two women listened in increments, seeing his earnestness, believing he wasn't lying.

After a while, Yu Xiaohui asked: "How long have you practiced, has it been effective?"

"Almost a year, definitely beneficial — good for both body and mind, feeling much better physically. If you're interested, I can teach you."

Chen Feng's enthusiasm stemmed partly from a peer-sharing mentality, and partly from hoping to occupy them with something to prevent frequently visiting and bothering him.

The two women exchanged glances before nodding toward Chen Feng in unison.

"Alright!"

"Thank you."

Chen Feng promptly picked up his phone, found the digital "Logic Sitting Meditation" book he previously found online, and shared it with them. He said, "Read through this, figure things out yourself, ask me if needed."

Receiving the digital book, they looked it over, amused.

They weren't truly seeking to learn sitting meditation but wanted more intimate engagement with Chen Feng.

Lou Xiaojiao outright remarked: "I haven't read a book in decades, now you're giving me one, I can't get into it. Why not hand-teach us directly?"

Chen Feng immediately refused: "This isn't yoga or aerobics; it's meditation, requiring solitary quietude and minimal external disturbance, self-exploration is vital; no one can teach all at once."

"Then I'll pass," Lou Xiaojiao declared, opting out.

Contrarily, Yu Xiaohui held her phone, genuinely inclined to learn.
