Chapter 44: Chapter 28 Can’t You Like a Goddess If You Like a Witch?

"Aside from the amount of Magic Power, its utilization is also very important," Buchi began to explain patiently, but Xi Mu was somewhat distracted, not very interested in the settings that Buchi was explaining.

As for the so-called Magic Power utilization rate, it changes with different levels of Magic Power usage. If one compares the most basic use of Magic Power to a steam engine, then a slightly more advanced one is like an internal combustion engine, all the way up to what is called a nuclear fusion engine.

Step by step, the efficiency of Magic Power usage is improved, and when players’ levels reach the maximum, they basically won’t have to worry about a lack of Magic Power. 𝕗𝚛𝚎𝚎𝐰𝗲𝗯𝗻𝚘𝚟𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝕞

Even though there will still be a problem with the upper limit of Magic Power, the passive abilities that are stacked up by then will allow Magic Power to recover at a high speed.

Unless the player’s operating skills are really terrible, constantly using big moves and indiscriminately bombing, there is no need to worry too much about the consumption of Magic Power.

Of course, early-stage players still need to consider their Magic Power. Right now, if he were to fully draw the meteorite bow, he could only shoot six arrows before his Magic Power would be exhausted.

"Anyway, let’s try it out in practice," Buchi stopped the tedious explanation and said to Xi Mu, "Try to concentrate Magic Power to destroy a flower, but make sure nothing else is affected."

"Snap." The concentrated Magic Power broke the stem, and the white flower tilted, falling into the cluster of flowers.

Buchi silently watched this scene; even he couldn’t manage to control Magic Power so precisely as to only break the flower stem.

This is what is called genius; even relying on instinct to use Magic Power, he could surpass his many years of training.

A strong feeling of defeat nearly drowned him.

"That was excellent," he clapped his hands, his voice somewhat hoarse as he looked at the silver-clad Knight, "But please don’t become too proud, it can be the source of your improvement."

Xi Mu nodded slightly and then deliberately changed the subject: "Teacher, you come from the Magic Kingdom, right?"

"Yes," Buchi’s expression turned proud when it came to the Magic Kingdom.

Even though he was just a third-rate Mage in the Magic Kingdom, living a very tight life, the thought of his country being so powerful made him feel proud nonetheless.

"I heard that the Magic Kingdom is in civil unrest?" Xi Mu asked, showing a troubled expression, "If I want to study there in the future, would that be a problem?"

"No, no, no... it’s not that difficult," Buchi quickly gestured with his hands, explaining to his student, "As long as you have a letter of recommendation, you can go and study in the Magic Kingdom."

He continued to explain to his student.

"I can write you a letter; as long as you take it to see the mentor, you can be admitted smoothly."

"Then, Teacher, could you write me a letter of recommendation?" Xi Mu asked. If he wanted to get involved in the Magic Kingdom’s war, he would have to choose a side, be it the Magic Queen or the rebels.

After all, as long as he could grind for experience and acquire skills, that was all that mattered.

"I could, but now is not a good time to go to the Magic Kingdom," Buchi said with a frown, "Maybe you can consider going after the internal conflict ends."

"It’s okay, I’m just going to learn knowledge," Xi Mu lied convincingly, with a straight face, "I won’t get involved in the civil unrest."

Seeing his student so determined and considering that he still needed the student’s tuition fees to survive, Buchi reluctantly nodded and said:

"Okay, I’ll write the recommendation letter tonight."

"Thank you, Teacher," Xi Mu nodded and then continued to be lost in thought while listening to Buchi’s teaching, until an hour had passed.

Buchi mentioned something.

"Actually, I’ve always been researching ways to use Magic Power more efficiently, though I only have some clues right now."

"Teacher, are you hoping to get sponsorship?" Xi Mu bluntly asked, looking at Buchi, who appeared a bit nervous and embarrassed, and chuckled:

"Yes."

"Really?" Buchi was instantly thrilled; could it be his luck was turning, and he’d gotten sponsorship so easily?

He had only tried it as a long shot.

"Of course," Xi Mu replied offhand, knowing that Buchi would discover something, a technique that would allow for more efficient use of Magic, enhancing his Magic Power recovery speed by twenty percent and reducing Magic Power consumption by ten percent.

But this only mattered before level sixty; after that, the technology would lose its significance.

"Thank you. As soon as I have any research results, I will give it to you to use right away," Buchi said with tears of gratitude, becoming even more enthusiastic as he explained the Magic setting to Xi Mu.

Xi Mu, upon hearing this, wandered off again for a moment, and then found a random excuse to send Buchi away, ending the meaningless procedural storyline.

For new players, everything Buchi said could be considered explaining the game’s worldview, but for Xi Mu, it was a waste of time.

Being able to put up with Buchi’s lecture was already quite patient.

"You are studying a bit too perfunctorily," a cold female voice said, accompanied by the sound of high heels.

Xi Mu turned his head and saw the red-haired princess approaching: "Your Highness, do you know where the temple of the Goddess of Life is?"

"Ah?" The red-haired princess was slightly stunned. Her crimson eyes flickered with a touch of confusion. Why was this man suddenly asking about this?

But she still answered Xi Mu’s question.

"Of course, I know."

"Could you take me there?" Xi Mu asked with a smile, watching the red-haired princess frown, and said with a chuckle:

"We might as well discuss on the way whether to act as siblings or consider marriage, shall we?"
