Alpha's Lost Luna Returns With His Twins-Chapter 295-Ruining My Own Relationship
Iris:
She had a look on her face as if my words had hurt her. But I knew that was not true. She was not upset that I was not going anywhere with Kash.
"Why are you shaking your head? I haven’t even finished speaking," she snapped.
Her hands moved behind her back and clasped together.
"I wish I could go, but I have something very important to do today," I replied.
As soon as I said that, my phone began to slip from my hand. I did not know why, but a strange feeling settled inside me. Lately, I have been feeling uncomfortable. I did not want to be part of everything, yet I was being pulled into all of it.
"You’ve been very busy these days. But I think you should listen to my son as well. He makes time for you in everything. You should also put his happiness first. And this is not even about his happiness. It’s about the company," Lady Vivian lectured in a stern tone.
Her hands moved from behind her back and folded in front of her. The look on her face made it clear that if she had her way, she would have pushed me out of this house. She was silent only because of her son.
"If Kash really needed me, he would have messaged me himself. And I was not informed about any meeting beforehand, so there’s no point in me going. I wouldn’t even know what is going to be discussed there. What exactly would I do by going?" I continued.
There was a slight hesitation in my voice, yet I kept speaking. My hand gestures and body language contradicted my words. There was fear in me too, fear of losing Kash.
As I said all this, it was clear from Lady Vivian’s face that she was surprised to hear me speak that way.
We were still talking when my children ran out of their room with their bags slung over their shoulders.
"Mommy, we are ready," my children said together, running toward me excitedly.
The look their grandmother gave them was truly something to see.
"Wait a second. Where are they going?" Lady Vivian demanded, suddenly grabbing my daughter’s hand. "Amy, where are you going?"
She did not even wait for me to respond and turned directly to Amy.
"Where are you going today?" she pressed.
"Mommy said we’re going to spend time with other kids. We’ll play games. We’ll make friends," my innocent child told her excitedly.
"What is she saying? You are leaving the Alpha King’s children at daycare?" Lady Vivian raised her voice, placing her hands on her waist.
It was clear she was not happy with my behavior.
"So what? They are the Alpha King’s children, not creatures who fell from the sky. All children go to daycare. And I am taking my warriors and the nannies of my own choice with me. They will keep an eye on them. I will have live footage as well," I began explaining, defending my behavior and my decision.
It was obvious she was annoyed with me. She kept shaking her head. She had let go of Amy, but she was still glaring at me.
"Then tell me something. Why aren’t you leaving them with Zoe?" she asked, adjusting her dress as if to divert her attention and keep her anger from spilling over.
"I think you know why. After whatever happened this morning, Zoe hasn’t spoken to me. And I don’t want to leave any responsibility with her," I replied.
Of course, I did not say that I suspected Zoe might take her anger out on my child. That would have made things worse.
"Who would even argue with you?" Lady Vivian shot back angrily, shaking her head as if to silence me. "But I will not let you dismiss my son like this. If Kash wants you at the meeting, then you should go."
She ordered me with her eyes, staring at me so I would listen.
"I already told you I have something important to do. If the meeting was that urgent, Kash would have informed me beforehand. He cannot call me at the last moment and expect me to show up. I am not even prepared," I responded harshly.
After that, I signaled my children toward the door so they would wait for me in the car. Their energy dimmed slightly when they saw me arguing with Lady Vivian.
I did not like that my children were witnessing this, but they made things difficult for me. I had to stand up for myself.
"Fine, maybe you’re mistaken. What if he is not calling you for some project or work matter? What if he just wants you standing beside him? To support him? You should go," she insisted again, as if she did not understand that I was not going.
I could not understand why she was insisting so much. Did she not remember that she never liked me for her son?
"I will talk to Kash myself. You don’t need to worry," I said.
After saying that, I checked my watch and continued.
"Anyway, I am getting late. Bye."
With that, I turned away. I did not respond to Lady Vivian again, and she did not call after me.
Suddenly, I felt a wave of heavy emotions. I could not understand what the issue was. My head felt heavy too, yet I kept moving.
Markus had messaged me. I was supposed to reach the shopping mall because we had to pick up the necklaces and everything else. The next day, we were going to place it all in that cabin. I was in a hurry.
Earlier, when Markus had called to say we were going to pick up the items, I had told him it felt like everyone was getting disturbed by our conversations.
He had reassured me that everything would settle once Zoe learned about her surprise.
After dropping the children at daycare, I headed straight to the mall, where I was supposed to meet Markus.
