Alpha's replacement bride is destined mate-Chapter 200 I will destroy the place
Suddenly from the narrow space came the sound of a brisk wind. A gleam of alertness flashed in the sorcerer’s eyes, and a dark shadow quickly appeared behind him. The next second Dolly stretched out her arms with the rapidity of a fierce cheetah pouncing on its prey. Her hand was placed precisely on the sorcerer’s neck, and the sound of the bone breaking was like the death knell of death.
The sorcerer’s neck was twisted so violently that his expression, full of shock, froze for an instant, and his body fell heavily to the ground, like a mannequin that has lost its support.
"Are you okay? " Dolly asked.
"I’m fine. " Emily replied. She unconsciously rubbed her belly; Had it not been for Dolly’s timely appearance, Emily could not have imagined the madness which the sorcerer would have wrought upon her and the infant within her.
"What’s in here? " Dolly wrinkled her nose, "I smell blood."
" This damn witches and Elijah sacrificing the living." Emily stared with disgust at the sorcerer lying on the floor, " They used black magic against the moon god’s rules."
Dolly glanced curiously at the inside of the door; then she pushed it open, and the smell of blood poured forth in an instant.
" Oh god." Dolly looked around the room and she wore a shocked expression, " How could they do something so cruel?"
" I’m going to destroy this place." Emily said through clenched teeth, her eyes burning with anger. The place was a breeding-ground for evil. Every inch of the air was filled with death and despair. She could not allow the place to remain.
Emily began to look about the room for some tool with which to wreak havoc, and her eye fell on a heap of broken torches in a corner.
Dolly knew what to do. Quickly seizing a torch, she groped about the walls and found an oil lamp with a little grease left in it. Dolly held the torch close to the lamp, and the flame leaped up in an instant.
Emily also picked up a torch and threw it at the ritual table, which was covered in runes. The torch landed on the sacrificial platform, and the flames spread rapidly. The mysterious runes writhed and twisted in the flames, as if they were uttering a wail of anguish.
The flames were getting bigger, and thick smoke was billowing out. The liquid in the pool of blood boiled under the heat, emitting a pungent odor, and Dolly and Emily threw other torches into the surrounding area, where old portraits hung on the walls and shelves containing evil objects were engulfed in flames. The flames swept through the basement of sin like waves of righteous fury, reducing, bit by bit, the dark secrets to ashes.
" We have to get out of here." Dolly called, and the smoke was already making it hard for them to breathe.
Emily nodded, and they ran quickly toward the exit. The moment they stepped out of the basement, Emily glanced back, and the glare of the fire gave her a little thrill of revenge.
The moment the stone door was closed, the deafening roar of the flames and the pungent smoke were for the moment silenced behind it, but the searing heat could still be faintly heard through it.
" Hopefully this fire will burn out all the evil in here." Emily muttered.
"We have to get out of here before the guards realize the basement is on fire. " Dolly reminded Emily.
Emily nodded her head.
.......
As night fell, Emily stood on her balcony, gazing silently into the dark night sky. The stars were hidden by the clouds, and only a few faint gleams of light broke through. The cold wind whistled through Emily’s hair and petticoats, and the horrible scene in the basement came back to her, and the evil words of the witch still rang in her ears, and troubled her heart.
Dolly was on the telephone with someone in her room. Her voice was a little rushed, and there was an air of strain in every word.
" Yes. You had better be able to arrange for our leaving the country to-night, and the sooner the better. " Dolly said to the person on the other end of the line," Things are different now, we can’t go ahead with the original plan. What? No, we can’t wait any longer."
Moments later, Dolly hung up the phone. She came over to Emily and whispered, "They said they can only arrange for a van to take us out of the country tonight. We shall have to wait till to-morrow if we wish to leave by air. So your decision is—"
" Then we’re leaving tonight." Emily sounded determined. She did not want to stay in this cage for a minute. 𝑓𝘳𝘦𝑒𝑤𝑒𝘣𝘯ℴ𝘷𝘦𝓁.𝑐𝑜𝑚
" Ok." Dolly said, " Wait until midnight when a grocery delivery van will come into the palace and the driver will take us out then. Is there anything else you need to take with you?"
" No." Emily said softly, " Nothing here belongs to me."
Emily sighed, suddenly remembering her promise to Hayley. So Emily said to Dolly, "You go get the housekeeper."
Dolly asked no questions; she just did it.
Presently the old steward arrived. He asked Emily respectfully what she wanted.
Emily said to the old butler, "You go and order the prisoners in the Black Tower to be released. Now."
The old butler looked puzzled, " Are you sure you want to do this?"
" Yes." Emily said in an undeniable tone, " As the future queen, in order to show my mercy, I’m going to pardon those prisoners for their sins."
" Do you need to consult with the king first? " The old butler said carefully," in case the king does not agree with your decision."
"Are you questioning me? " Emily glanced at the old butler with icy eyes, "I am the Queen. If I were to put you in the Black Tower, do you think the king would stop my decision?"
"I’m sorry, your highness." The old butler hung his head low, his voice trembling a bit, "Please forgive me."
"Do as I say, now."
"Yes."
When the old butler had gone, it was then that Emily threw off her disguise. She sat down on the couch in a long silence, the ruby ring on her hand tingling like blood in the light.
When the clock struck midnight at the castle, Dolly came to Emily and whispered, "It’s time to go."
Emily’s eyes slowly opened, and she took off her ruby ring and laid it on the table. " Let’s go." She got up from the sofa and left without a moment’s hesitation.
