Alpha's replacement bride is destined mate-Chapter 40 Moving into the Palace
Emily packed her personal belongings into a bag, with the exception of a few pieces of clothing and her diary. As she sat in the drawing room, bag in hand, Klaus’s gaze swept casually over her, and he remained silent.
They left the room and took a royal carriage to the palace. Throughout the journey, Emily and Klaus sat opposite each other in the backseat of the carriage, in silence.
The frosty atmosphere persisted until they arrived at the palace, and as Emily stepped out of the carriage, Klaus offered to assist her, but she declined his offer.
As they entered the palace, two twin princesses, attired in matching yellow princess dresses, dashed towards them from the other end of the corridor.
"Klaus, you’re back," one of the twins exclaimed to Klaus. "Maggie and I knew you were coming back, so we waited for you here."
"It was the king who asked me to move back to the palace," Klaus replied casually.
"We have a greeting gift for your Luna," Maggie said, holding the black cat in her arms and presenting it to Emily. "Look, we’ve named this cat Katie, and we hope you like her."
Maggie gently placed the black cat into Emily’s arms, and she smiled ingratiatingly at Emily. "I know we had some misunderstandings before, but please don’t hold any grudges against us."
"I don’t hold grudges against you," Emily replied, as the cat struggled to escape from her arms.
"Wow, so you’re not dumb," said Minna, surprised.
"You idiot, she’s certainly not dumb," Maggie nudged Mina’s arm with her elbow. "How could Klaus marry a mute?"
Emily noticed a silver tag around the black cat’s neck, inscribed with the words: "CoCo belongs to Mrs. Michel."
"Are you sure her name is Katie and not CoCo?" Emily asked, confused.
The twin princesses immediately looked embarrassed, and Klaus asked them, "Where did you get the cat?"
"I told you a long time ago, don’t hit on the idea of stealing that cat," Mina scolded her sister.
"Tell me, where did you get this cat?" Klaus’s tone hardened.
"It’s the garden manager’s cat," Mina confessed. "Maggie said she was going to give your Luna a special gift, so she took Mrs. Michel’s cat. She thought your Luna would like it."
"I think you should return the cat to its owner," Emily tried to hand the cat to Maggie, but it jumped straight up in mid-air and darted off down the hallway in the opposite direction.
"Look, now she’s gone to her master," Maggie said, looking as though she didn’t care.
"That’s enough, you guys. Don’t cause any more trouble," Klaus said impatiently, turning to the manservant beside him. "Where is our room?"
The manservant replied respectfully, "You are still staying in the same room."
"I know where Klaus’s old room is," Mina shouted, taking Emily’s hand and saying, "I’ll take you."
"I’ll go too," Maggie said, taking Emily’s other hand, and they pulled her forward.
Klaus shook his head helplessly and followed them.
The twin princesses led Emily up the stairs and down a long corridor to the end, where a large door appeared before them.
"Look, this is the room where Klaus used to live," Minna said excitedly, pushing open the heavy door.
Emily followed them into the room, and the sight made her catch her breath involuntarily. The room was more spacious than she had imagined, several times larger than the hotel room in which they had stayed. The room was designed with a vintage Victorian feel, and every piece of furniture and decoration exuded a sense of history and luxury.
The room was spotless, with sunlight streaming in through tall panes of clear glass and spreading across the floor, creating mottled patches of pale yellow. The floors were made of fine wood, and every step felt smooth and cool. The walls were decorated with delicate canvases depicting ancient landscapes and figures, each framed in a gilt frame.
There’s also a small garden with colorful tulips on the veranda, a small fountain in the center that gurgles, and a cute swing next to it that makes you want to sit on it and give it a gentle swing.
Mina and Maggie went to their own home and, taking Emily by the hand, led her to the bedroom.
"Look, this is your dressing room," Mina said, pushing open a small door in the bedroom and pointing inside to Emily. "You can put your clothes here."
"Where are your clothes?" Maggie asked curiously, noticing the bag Emily was holding. "Don’t tell me that’s all you have."
"I didn’t bring much clothing," Emily said, glancing at the large dressing room, which seemed somewhat superfluous to her, as her personal effects would barely fill a single drawer.
"You need to buy new clothes," Mina said.
"And new shoes, handbags, necklaces, earrings," Maggie suggested. "Why don’t we take you shopping?"
"I don’t need to buy these things just yet," Emily said, embarrassed to tell the two princesses that she had no money.
At that moment, Klaus came up behind them and overheard their conversation. So he pulled a black credit card out of his wallet and handed it to Emily. "Take this and go shopping."
Emily gave him a hesitant look and did not immediately take Klaus’s credit card.
"There’s no limit on how much you can spend on this card, right?" Mina snatched the black card from Klaus’s hand.
"Nope," Klaus’s words seemed to be saying to Emily, "You can use it however you want."
"Wow."
The twins looked envious at the same time, and Mina took Emily’s hand and said, "Let’s go on a shopping spree."
Emily was almost pushed out of the door by the twins, and when they were gone and Klaus was alone in the large room, an inexplicable sense of loss came over him, and he felt a little bored.
"Marx, would you like to come out for a drink?" Klaus called to Marx.
"Where?" Marx asked.
"Blue Aurora Bar."
"See you in twenty minutes." Marx hung up.
.................
Shopping Malls
The twin princesses took Emily on a shopping spree to the mall, and Minna and Maggie picked out a lot of beautiful clothes and shoes for Emily, dressing her up like an upper-class lady.
The two princesses kept giving Emily all sorts of fashion advice, chattering like little sparrows around her. The twins could not get enough, even though they were using Klaus’s credit card to buy a lot of things.
"Let’s find a place to drink," Mina proposed. "I know a good spot."
"Okay," Emily said, her legs sore from shopping, desperate to find a place to sit down and take a break.
So they drove to the bar, but Emily immediately stopped them when she realized the twins intended to go to the bar for a drink.
"Wait, you can’t go to the bar," Emily said to the twins. "You’re not adults yet."
"It’s okay, let’s just go in and have a drink," Mina advised her. "And this bar belongs to the royal estate; no one dares to do anything to us."
"Let’s go," Maggie said, waving her hand at Emily.
Emily’s remonstrations were ineffective, and, fearing for the twins, she was compelled to follow.
