Angle's Arrogance? My Pact with the Succubus Queen!-Chapter 264: The True Body of Shadow Appears!
He slowly curled his right hand into a fist. The light chains wrapped around the four Shadow Generals tightened, digging into their bodies.
Lomel, Sean, and Xavier all let out painful grunts at the same time.
But General Solomon didn’t react at all. His mind had already been completely taken over by the Shadow Beings.
"Shadow." Logan said, staring into General Duerer’s eyes. "I take back your Shadow power."
At the moment he finished speaking, the light chains glowed brightly.
The Shadow Beings inside the four generals were pulled out violently. Four streams of black light shot straight toward Logan.
Shadow screamed and tried to stop them, but Space Restriction held her tight. Every step she took felt like walking through mud.
The black light entered Logan’s chest. The baby waiting in his soul core was already ready. It swallowed the Shadow Beings in one bite.
Without the Shadow Beings to support them, Lomel, Sean, Xavier, and Solomon all shook violently. Their blue infernos flickered, but their minds were still trapped in the shadow poison. They hadn’t woken up yet.
The light chains kept them floating in the air, stopping them from falling or going wild.
Duerer, still controlled by Shadow, slowly landed. Her eyes burned with a stronger blue inferno than before.
She stared at Logan with wild killing intent. "So what if you took away the Shadow Beings?"
Shadow’s voice was cold as ice. "Their souls are already my food. The real fight... is just starting."
Logan didn’t answer.
He looked at the four trapped generals and sighed. "I know."
The light surrounded him. He whispered to himself, "That’s why I’ll keep fighting until I break every chain you left on them."
In the center of the Saint Heart City battlefield, the light chains looked like four bright rivers of stars. They held the four generals in the air.
The Shadow Beings were gone, but the shadow poison had already reached deep into their souls. It was slowly eating away at the last of their true spirit.
Logan could feel the soul waves from the other end weakening. It was going to get worse.
Once the poison fully broke free, the four generals’ souls would vanish forever — no chance of rebirth.
"Logan!" Ancestral Spirits called out. "Their souls are too deep in the poison. Normal purification won’t work in time."
"Then use something unusual!" Logan took a deep breath and opened his Spirit Palace Resonance fully. "Ancestral Spirits, Life Purification—ready!"
At the same time, his golden blood started to burn.
Logan raised his hands, palms facing the four generals in the air.
His 35-star Legend-level power flowed through him. It merged with the will of thousands of heroes, forming a warm but strong golden light beam.
"Hero’s Passing!"
The beam covered the four generals. The first to react was Lomel General.
Black marks on his body moved violently, trying to get back inside his body.
But the will of the heroes in the light held them tight, pulling them out of his body, one by one.
"Ughh!" Lomel screamed in pain. His blue inferno burned wildly in his eyes. 𝒻𝑟ℯℯ𝑤𝑒𝑏𝑛𝘰𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝒸𝑜𝘮
But slowly, the color of the inferno changed. It turned from blue to dark red — the same color as his eyes when he was alive.
"Darwin..." Lomel struggled to turn his head, looking toward the wall.
General Darwin was shocked. He took a step forward. "Lomel? You..."
"Time is short." Lomel said, forcing out a bitter smile. "Listen — the defense layout in the north. The third weakness is on the north side of the Dragonbone Mountains. The Shadow Tribes might come from there."
He spoke slowly, giving important military information with every word.
Darwin’s fingers flew across the mech control panel, almost leaving a blur.
He wrote down every word Lomel said, even though it came out in broken pieces.
Lomel’s voice grew weaker and weaker, until it was just a whisper.
"Thank you... for freeing me." he raised his hand and gave a strict military salute. "The North... I leave it to you all."
Then came General Sean.
He turned to look at General Claude. His eyes changed from confused to calm.
"If I could..." Sean’s voice had a smile in it. "Don’t tell my wife anything about this. All my Spirit Palace knowledge is in your head, brother."
The light dissolved, and only General Claude was left, kneeling on the ground, eyes red.
General Xavier looked at Dominic, as if he wanted to say something, but just laughed instead, his fist clenched in the air.
"Good wine is in my cellar — save it for you!" he shouted. "Next time, don’t freeze me. It’s cold!"
His voice faded, and the third light disappeared into the air.
The last one — and the hardest — was General Duerer.
His body was still controlled by Shadow’s projection. To purify him, they had to not only remove the Shadow Beings, but also pull Shadow’s mind out of his body.
This was much more dangerous than the others.
Logan didn’t hesitate. He used the divine fire of his golden blood, pressing it hard against Shadow’s mind.
Duerer’s body arched violently. A blue inferno burst from every part of him, fighting back against the purification.
Logan had no choice. He burned the connection points between Shadow and Duerer’s body, one by one.
Hiss!
Black smoke burned and hissed.
Shadow screamed and tried to fight back, but Ancestral Spirits’ Life Purification kept coming, holding Duerer’s life together.
Logan and Ancestral Spirits worked like a surgeon, slowly taking back control of Duerer’s body.
Ten seconds...
Twenty seconds...
Thirty seconds...
"Now!" Logan shouted, and cut off the divine fire. The Shadow projection was pulled out, then shot away like a blue lightning bolt.
But Logan was ready. He clenched his right hand and opened Space Restriction. "Want to run?"
The light stopped in mid-air. Logan raised his left hand and pulled Shadow’s mind into his soul core. She joined the baby
As Logan expected, Shadow’s mind couldn’t stand the baby’s hunger.
As soon as she woke up, she felt something grab her neck. Then she saw the baby’s big mouth open and swallow her whole. Everything went dark.
In the real world, Shadow’s mind was gone. Duerer’s body fell from the sky. Logan caught him.
The body was broken. His chest had deep wounds from the One Life, One Death curse. His skin was burned all over by soul energy.
But his eyes slowly opened. They were Duerer’s strong, determined eyes.
"Logan?" Duerer whispered, so weak it was almost impossible to hear.
"It’s me." Logan said. "General, you’re free."
Duerer forced out a hard smile. "Thank you."
He paused, then his eyes turned urgent. "Monet... what about General Monet?"
"He’s still alive." Logan said. "Serious injuries, but he’s alive."
Duerer sighed in relief. "That’s good."
He looked toward the north, his eyes losing focus. "The north... there’s the answer... you have to go there..."
"What answer?" Logan frowned.
"About the Shadow Tribes... about the shadow’s true body... the seal..." Duerer’s voice got quieter and quieter. "My memory was taken too much by the Shadow Beings. I remember only... there’s a clue in the ancient ruins on the other side..."
His hand rose halfway, as if trying to grab something. But it fell back down, weak and useless.
"Kid... the road ahead... you’ll have to walk it alone." the light slowly left Duerer’s body.
Unlike the other three generals, Duerer’s light had a few blue threads in it — the pollution left by the Shadow projection.
Logan quickly used his golden blood. He burned the blue parts out, separating and sealing them off.
Only then did the pure white light enter his forehead.
The souls of the four generals were now all gathered — except General Solomon.
Logan turned to look at the last body still trapped in the light chains.
General Solomon still didn’t move. His blue inferno was gone, but the Shadow Beings were now completely tied to his soul — deeper than anyone else.
Normal purification wouldn’t work anymore.
"He’s beyond saving." Ancestral Spirits said quietly. "The Shadow Beings swallowed his soul completely. Now, it’s just a pure shadow puppet."
Logan stayed silent for a while before nodding. "Then give him a way out."
He raised his right hand. Thirty 35-star level energy gathered in his palm, compressing into a golden ball the size of a fist.
Lightning flickered on the surface of the ball. It was made from the will of heroes and divine fire.
"General Solomon." Logan said softly. "You can’t hear me, but I still say goodbye."
The ball flew, not fast, but with a heavy pressure that was impossible to avoid.
General Solomon’s body tried to move, but the light chains held him tight.
When the ball touched his chest, it didn’t explode. It just melted inside.
Golden light flowed into his body like liquid, breaking the Shadow Beings apart into raw dark particles.
Cracks appeared all over General Solomon’s body. Golden light shone through them.
Three seconds later.
General Solomon’s body broke apart completely, turning into a cloud of light and dust.
Logan raised his hand and gathered all the dust into his Spirit Palace core.
Even though there was no soul left, at least Shadow wouldn’t be able to use it again.
After the purification was done.
The battlefield was in chaos. The Shadow Army collapsed completely.
Without the generals and with the Shadow projections gone, the Shadow soldiers ran away like a retreating tide.
The Federation soldiers didn’t chase. They had no strength left.
All over the city wall, the place was in ruins.
Nabo was seriously injured. Five Federation generals were out of the fight. Over 60% of the soldiers were dead or hurt.
But at least, Saint Heart City still stood.
