Antihero In the Hero Academy: I Can Connect the Past Heroes-Chapter 136: Angel (2)
Chapter 136: Angel (2)
It was a battle that could be won.
That’s why Atlas had begun to put himself in as calm a state as possible. It was the first time he had met an angel in a long, long time.
That’s why he had to be himself. Even if his mind could not be poisoned or confused in any way thanks to his Mind Palace ability, the fact that the being in front of him was a ’holy’ being was still an immutable fact.
"Then you’re wrong," Atlas suddenly muttered.
Hearing this, the angel smiled sarcastically and then said, "Haha...It’s not even funny anymore. An ordinary, despicable human being." Then instantly leapt forward.
Atlas’ eyes could almost follow the angel’s speed.
He met the angel’s sudden claw lunge towards him with the holy sword in his hand and managed to make a short parry.
"CHING!!!"
It was as if the sound of two metals hitting each other was heard in the ears, and Atlas took the opportunity of the parry he had managed to make to instantly cover his holy sword with colourful flames and make a slashing move.
However, the angel itself was as fast as Atlas, which was precisely why Atlas’ attack had failed. Still, that wasn’t everything.
Without waiting, Atlas had directly activated his Night’s Step ability and charged forward with it.
The angel did not expect the young man in front of him to launch two counterattacks in quick succession. It had reached the angel’s mind at that moment that he was a young man as the other angels had warned him.
In short, the angel began to worry.
Atlas must have thought that he had nothing to lose or that he would defeat the angel.
This managed to create anxiety in the angel himself in just two moves.
"Ching!"
"CHING!!!"
One after the other, at different decibels, the sounds of impact began to scratch and damage the angel’s claws.
Atlas realised that he was starting to succeed. He was not as weak as before. He had become very strong indeed, and he knew he could not be defeated by a lowly angel.
He was just trying to keep himself in good shape, with proper energy, just in case.
With one attack after another, he began to push the angel back as far as he could. Still, of course, not everything was going to be that easy.
The angel suddenly lunged forward, trying to knock Atlas’ holy sword out of his hand, and even if he failed, he managed to make him stumble and lose his balance.
"You’re despicable, boy!" the angel suddenly shouted and delivered an incredibly heavy blow to the centre of Atlas’ abdomen.
As Atlas flew several metres through the air and landed on his feet, the angel looked down at his palm and realised that it hurt like hell.
The armour Hephaestus had made for Atlas had been very, very useful.
Even if Atlas himself was in incredible pain, at least he had managed to take the minimum possible damage.
He breathed deeply and tried to come to himself with the taste of blood in his mouth. Even if it was the minimum damage, it still hurt incredibly.
Immediately, he planted his foot hard on the ground and attacked again without waiting. When he realised that the angel had underestimated him, he knew he could use anything.
He instantly increased the amount of aura in his body and colourful flames started to spill out of his body and a light-proof image started to form around him without waiting, he said "Sword of Tranquility."
When his heart became calm and his breathing was suddenly free from the pain of the blow to his abdomen, he activated his Night’s Step ability and without waiting, he activated his Sight ability, allowing him to see the angel’s moves more easily.
On top of that, he activated the Dead Plains ability he had received from Gaia just as the angel was attacking him again, and not only that, he also activated Starry Night and Goddess’s Fury.
When Atlas’s aura went to level four and a blood red and jet black aura began to form around the holy sword, when the sky began to darken with the Starry Night ability and the stars began to bloom in the sky, Atlas could easily realise that he was now at his strongest.
He hadn’t stopped for a second.
As the seconds ticked by, he avoided the attack of the angel that was coming at him instantly.
It was as if time had stopped. He was in such a fast state that his Agility stat seemed to have passed five hundred.
The tracking ability from Superview’s passive and every ability that gave him speed were combined with the Sword of Tranquility ability, and he was now at his purest and strongest.
"Swing."
Atlas made a simple cut, right at the angel’s neck.
The angel walked for a few steps. Turning towards Atlas, he extended his hand towards him and began to step towards Atlas without stopping. However, his steps became slower and slower, and Atlas, at that moment, turned down his aura abilities, calmed the aura he had transferred to his sword, and deactivated every single ability except Starry Night.
"Alas...You are so despicable as angels. You have locked your masters away and now you seek to wage a war on Earth. I will not allow it and I will release your masters before you know it. You will not get anywhere near dear Archangel Michael and the Lightbringer themselves." Atlas said suddenly.
"Yo---u...How????" the angel questioned in horror, the desperation in his gaze only heightening the dark, cruel feeling in Atlas’ eyes.
Neither Nyx nor anyone else had ever seen him like this before. It was sad and frightening, to say the least.
When the words reached Atlas’ ears, the darkness in his eyes only increased, and instead of an expression of anger, it was as if he was looking at a vile being.
And with that, a small cut appeared in the throat of the angel in white. As the cut in his throat grew larger, the blood flowing out of it revealed a horrifying and, to put it bluntly, incredibly disgusting image.
Just one move. Just as he had done in the mid-term exam, Atlas had ended it all in just one move. Even at the lowest level, he had managed to destroy an angel in a single move.
While the angel continued to look at him with bewildered eyes and a fearful expression on his face, Atlas only looked at him for a few seconds and then spat on the ground and said, "I will destroy you all, you bastards. My revenge will be bitter." and slowly pushed the angel’s body backwards.
When the angel’s body fell to the ground, his head was separated from his body and the angel instantly turned into dust and disappeared.
Atlas...was victorious.
Immediately after this, Atlas looked at the barrier with a diameter of 10 kilometres and realised that the barrier had not yet disintegrated.
He had forgotten all about it. When a summoning spell was cast, the barrier would continue to exist unless the summoned person deactivated the spell or the person casting the summoning spell destroyed the spell.
This meant that Atlas had no way to leave at the moment. That is, under normal circumstances, it would not have happened, but there was no such thing at the moment.
"I realise you’re watching me, Lady Juliet, do you realise you can’t disguise yourself very well?" Atlas suddenly muttered.
With that, he turned his head to an empty spot, an area in the air, and with that, Juliet appeared as if formed out of thin air and landed on the ground next to Atlas.
"I have to say I hate you sometimes, Atlas, just when I thought I had achieved the ability of my sister Bellatrix and was getting good at illusion spells like Constantine. But you could see right through the barrier and illusion I made," Juliet suddenly complained.
Atlas smiled and then said, "I love you too, my lady, don’t worry." and pointed sarcastically at the barrier.
"Are you seriously going to ask such a thing?" Juliet questioned.
"Unfortunately, I am not strong enough to destroy a barrier that has already started, at least not yet. So it’s up to you," Atlas replied.
Hearing these words, Juliet shook her head left and right smiled and turned to the side of the barrier closest to her and opened her palm towards the barrier.
In just a second, without Juliet even releasing mana or casting a spell, the barrier disappeared as if it had never existed.
Atlas saw such a thing for the first time and looked at Juliet curiously.
"Don’t underestimate the Sages, boy," Juliet said when she saw this expression and suddenly grabbed Atlas by his clothes and then took off.
The ancient woman was carrying Atlas in the air like a baby.
The cleansing phase of the Akairon Kingdom was nearing its end.
