Chapter 140: So That’s How It All Happened...

Constantine looked around the house for a few seconds after looking carefully towards the house and then muttered, "Haha...No way!" as if he had found something.

Then he extended his palm towards the house and covered the house with his magic. At that moment, it became clear what was going on.

"A quality suction spell, I think you found out what happened," Constantine said. All that was left was a curious Atlas and Thalia.

Constantine began to draw something in the air with his hands, one after the other. The mana spilling out of his hands was constantly forming words, and as a result, it began to move towards the barrier-like layer above the house.

This was the way the Sage of Illusions used his magic. [Word Magic], a spell of his own creation that transformed rune magic into something completely different, something only he could use in the true sense of the word.

It was probably one of the most perfect spells ever created in the history of the world, and it was a type of magic that even Atlas could not have learnt. This was not because the spell was complicated. It was because Constantine possessed the INCREDIBLY rare ’dream’ magic-line. A so-called god-given blood-line magic.

According to some legends, Chaos himself had given Constantine this strange form of magic, this special power in his blood. Others said it was a mistake and that Constantine had created a new type of magic directly for himself.

Whatever had happened, Constantine had indeed created a spell that could not be duplicated.

It was a type of magic that could cast runes at hyper-speed, using the lowest level of mana in the body and with almost no expenditure, on top of that, the runes were written in a different way and different languages so that the enemy could not understand what runes were being used.

In a serious sense, it could even be one of the top three most perfect spells ever created.

The unknown symbols and words Constantine had sent around began to combine and form runes that Atlas had never seen before.

Even though Atlas couldn’t see them now, he could feel Selene and Hecate laughing. It would have been impossible for the gods and goddesses not to laugh when they saw the admiring smile on Atlas’ face and the brightness in his eyes.

Seriously, Atlas had never seen anything so beautiful in his two lives.

One after another, unknown symbols and words of different colours continued to merge, and the runes formed stuck to the barrier, creating an invisible black magic energy.

The black magical energy began to grow longer and longer, travelling parallel to the world tree in an upward direction.

Before Atlas realised what was happening, Cain had enveloped him in his mana and he was flying. Cain, Constantine, Thalia and Atlas were already following the line of black magic.

Atlas didn’t understand what was going on. This was something he did not know. It was like a tactic he had never learnt before. There was no way he could understand these spells anyway. He wasn’t a Sage, even if he had been a top sorcerer in his previous life.

While he had barely formed the 12th Magic Ring, he had no potential and power to compete with the Sages who had formed 48 Magic Rings and what they could do.

Therefore, everything was very difficult for him.

The only thing he realised was that the gateway connecting that ’broken’ paradise where the angels lived to this world was not connected to the World Tree.

There was so much he wanted to learn, but at the moment there was nothing else he could do but wait.

After a short time, the group reached the other end of the black magic line, and then they were able to see the danger zone that Atlas had seen in his previous life.

A passage, tangible, small, and yet incredibly tiny in energy, stood before the four. The looks in Constantine and Cain’s eyes suddenly turned serious and Cain began to study the portal directly.

After only a few dozen seconds, he took out a notebook and began taking pages of notes. As he began to take notes on the gate’s energy form, colour scheme, intensity, power level and more, Constantine turned to Thalia and said, "It’s dangerous, we need to disconnect it before it gets any bigger."

Thalia didn’t realise what was happening, but she nodded her head and replied, "I will do everything I can, sir, please give me your orders."

"I want you to make sure that no one is allowed anywhere near the house, no matter what, no one but the four of us," Constantine said.

Thalia left the scene at hyper-speed like a light magic spell the moment she heard those words, and Atlas finally had the opportunity to ask a question:

"Sir, what exactly is going on?"

At Atlas’ question, Constantine looked once at him and once at the tiny portal, then uttered the following words:

"A suction spell. A very high-quality one. It is considered the supreme and stainless point of black magic. It is a rune and barrier spell that can be obtained with really long labour and a huge amount of pure mana contamination."

Constantine smiled as he said these words and said, "Simply put, whoever or whatever cast this spell managed to cast a spell of enormous magnitude that travelled from the High Elven Palace to the house we just checked and from there to the World Tree."

Immediately after this, he slowly approached the gate and tried to understand the spell.

"It utilises the infinite and complex reality of the World Tree, which provides life to this world as life itself, and converts the energy into dark magic, thereby opening a gap, perhaps between realms, in a region so high up in the World Tree that it can’t be touched in any way."

After Constantine’s words, Atlas realised what was happening. I mean, even if he didn’t know exactly how it happened formula by formula, he could at least figure out the basic logic a little bit.

"And that, precious Atlas, creates an ever-growing portal. Who knows how many angels may emerge through this portal...when it reaches its fullest potential."

With those words, Constantine finally finished his speech and then proceeded to continue deciphering the spell.

He knew as well as anyone that everything had to be put in a good state as soon as possible, and he couldn’t jeopardise anything. Maybe these angels couldn’t hurt him, but endangering the lives of Atlas and many others like him was a big deal, even for a Sage like Constantine who didn’t care about anything.

One thing remained in Atlas’ mind after all he had learnt. To put it bluntly, he understood the basic logic. Despite all this, the question that remained in his mind was how the demon portal was formed inside the academy.

After all, these two places had no connection with each other. There was literally no connection between Hero Academy Globe and the World Tree. The fact that there was no way for the life energy stolen from the World Tree to reach the academy was a matter of great curiosity.

Atlas thought for a short while and closed his eyes in sadness as the realisation suddenly dawned on him.

Cordelia had fought for a long time, there was no way to deny it. Even when the gates had opened and the world had descended into chaos, she had not fallen, poisoned and dying.

But these facts did not apply to other Sages. freeωebnovēl.c૦m

Since there had been hundreds or even thousands of demon worshippers in the Academy in her previous life, the Sages’ energies must have been stolen when the other Sages passed away and were buried in the [Ancestral] section of the Academy at Cordelia’s request.

Everything started to make sense now.

Atlas had done the whole world a great favour by cleansing the Academy of Demon worshippers. That’s why the demon worshippers were afraid to communicate with him. They had already suffered a great blow because the six Sages had cleared the entire continent, and there was no way they could both target Atlas and try to open the gate.

In short, Atlas had managed to kill tens and maybe even hundreds of birds with a stone.

"Are you okay, Atlas?"

Atlas suddenly heard Cain’s voice, which suddenly covered him with mana, and opened his eyes, which were closed with sadness, and answered, "Yes, sir."

Cain pushed him a small distance away from the World Tree and then said, "Then watch. I can’t explain how watching Constantine’s magic will help you when even I can learn something from it."

After all, even if Cain was over sixty years old, Constantine was almost the same age as Talon himself, and Talon was an individual approaching a million years old.

The difference in knowledge and seniority between the two was enormous, and even as Cain watched, only one thing remained clear:

The show was about to begin.
