Apocalypse: Transmigrated General's Daughter Uses Space to Survive-Chapter 506: Confusing Time Flow
"That will have to wait until tomorrow. It’s already very late now. Which might interfere with our observations, but we can start with it in the morning after breakfast." Chu Miao was happy to interact with Yu Wane’r.
She was one of the genuine friends she had made in her life, even though they had only known each other for a short time.
"Alright then. We have to work on everything and complete all the preparations if possible within two days because we don’t know when those things will attack us." Commander Shen said with a dignified air of a general.
"Sure, Commander." Several replies came from different people in the room.
After the meeting, everyone headed to their sleeping quarters to rest.
Chu Miao and her teammates also headed to their assigned house. Just like everyday, she set up a barrier before taking everyone into the Soul Ring.
Sometimes moving between the outside world and the Soul Ring could be confusing because of the difference in time flow.
Just like at that moment, it was already dark outside and people were going to bed, yet in the Soul Ring, there were people doing different tasks and it was very bright and obvious during the day.
"What time is it outside? Have you eaten?" Mother Chu noticed them as soon as they appeared.
She was in the kitchen within the villa packing the fruits and vegetables they had harvested.
Things in the Soul Ring were growing too fast and they had no choice but to harvest a new batch every few days.
Today was harvest day again and mother Chu and the other women from the Li family were helping in cleaning and packing their harvest while the men were in the farm still working on the ripe and mature crops.
Grandpa Chu and Butler Cheng were taking care of pigs and other animals within the paddocks.
Because of the fast growth of the livestock, they had to slaughter several every week or so.
They also had to collect eggs and milk the cows and goats, before processing them and packaging them.
Everything was then taken to the warehouse where they would be stored for as long as they were needed.
Even though the people in the Soul Ring couldn’t leave for the time being, they were living a fulfilling life and not just cultivating like machines everyday.
"Mom, is there food left? We haven’t had dinner yet. It’s already time for bed outside." Chu Miao walked into the kitchen in steady strides.
She hadn’t seen her mother for less than twenty-four hours, going by the time flow outside, but in the Soul Ring, it had been a few days already.
The only way they communicated sometimes was when her mother cooked food and left it in the kitchen and Chu Miao used her consciousness to take it out of the ring.
So, it was reasonable for the girl to miss her mother, especially since she was raised in the palms of her family members.
The apocalypse was the only thing that had forced her to mature, especially with that prophecy weighing on her shoulders.
"Alright, wash your hands and wait outside. I’ll bring the food to you soon." He Yan was always happy to see her daughter.
Today was no exception and one could tell from the smile that never left her face.
The eldest daughter of the Li family also offered to help and assisted in taking the dishes from the kitchen to the dining table.
The dishes served were usually more compared to normal people because superpower users ate more food compared to ordinary people.
"What are you up to now?" He Yan asked her daughter after all the dishes were served.
She knew that her daughter wouldn’t come into the Soul Ring for no reason at all. So once she had served the food, she didn’t leave and instead sat next to her daughter to help her pick food into her bowl while chatting with her.
"I told you guys about the anticipated battle with the zombies. We are making preparations for the battle and I discovered a talisman that could tip the balance in the battle.
I just finished testing its efficiency today and found it quite useful. I need to draw more and time is limited. So, I came in here to take advantage of the time and draw more talismans.
As for the others, just take it as them coming in for a rest." As she put food slowly in her mouth, Chu Miao explained to her mother her reason for coming into the Soul Ring this time.
"Oh, that’s good then. If you need anything, just let us know.
You know the whole family is behind you as your strongest support." Mother Chu patted her daughter on the back as she said this with a loving smile that only a mother could manage.
"Mmm...I know mom, don’t worry, If I need anything, I won’t hesitate to ask." Chu Miao never felt a burden relying on her family.
So, her mother didn’t even need to remind her.
If she was in need, she would never shy away from turning to her family.
She felt that, being reincarnated in the Chu family in two lifetimes, her sacrifice in the immortal realm was worth every drop of blood she shed.
She didn’t regret sacrificing herself to save the immortal realm, but she felt that getting a family like the Chu family was an added bonus.
She vowed to help them in their cultivation and make them stronger.
She would definitely take her family with her back to the immortal realm once she was done with her mission of eradicating the apocalypse.
Thinking of improving her family’s strength, Chu Miao remembered the soul fluid they had taken from the ancient battlefield.
Even though she had given some to her family, it had only been once.
It was time to give them another dose so that they could go into seclusion for a few days before the battle with the zombies began.
Since they had expressed their willingness to join the battle, she had to prepare them well.
