Awakening of the Adrenaline Monster-Chapter 31: part
Tom woke up to a big noise. All the soldiers were running to protect the harbor. He stopped a passerby and asked what had happened.
"The monsters suddenly became too many. Team Kane can’t take the numbers, they’ve called for backup!"
Tom quickly ran towards the harbor. Thousands of monsters were charging into the harbor; soldiers were constantly dying or retreating.
Without hesitation, Tom dived into the battlefield and began to mow down the monsters he saw. He killed one of the walruses instantly, using his ability to slow down time.
The sea wolves attacked relentlessly. Tom lost himself in the intoxication of battle. His body was receiving small wounds from the monsters, but his adrenaline was making him even more excited.
The more he fought, the deeper he dove into the monsters. He was completely immersed in his adrenaline and didn’t even realize it.
"Kill... kill... kill... die... die!"
Tom was repeating these words with laughter. Just then he took a blow and was thrown ten meters away.
Sea Gorli
A sea-breathing, highly powerful monster with blue fur.
Passive Ability: Boost - As their number increases, so does their strength.
Tom realized where he was: He was in the middle of the monster army. Not all the monsters were focused on him, but many of them surrounded him. Because they were fighting in a narrow space, not all the monsters could pounce on him at the same time; perhaps that was why he was still alive.
Tom activated his dark attack ability and pushed the monsters back. With his Quick Slash ability, he dealt damage to all the monsters at once. He killed the bear-type monsters in one blow with his Combined Slash, but it was not enough. The more he killed, the more came.
The more he fought, the more he mastered the demon steps. So the monsters couldn’t completely surround him. But no matter what he did, it was not enough. Thanks to his martial arts and endurance skills, Tom was able to conserve his energy, which meant he was still alive.
The voices in his mind began to quieten. He was constantly taking wounds, but thanks to his Dark Intercept ability, he was able to survive with a 5% life steal. But this was insufficient.
He was hit over and over again. Thanks to the flexibility of his body, he managed to turn them into superficial wounds, but he needed more vitality.
"I can’t die here. I must survive. I must live!"
Tom bit the neck of a dead bear and forcefully swallowed the flesh. He felt he had gained some strength, but he needed more. Anyone who saw Tom would think he was a demon who fed on his victims. He killed and consumed to survive. But no matter what he did, it was not enough.
Tom decided to fight to the end. He would not stop until he was dead. His vision began to darken, but he didn’t care.
Suddenly there was a huge crash. The monsters were startled and Tom had a chance to catch his breath, but it was not a good thing. From the depths of the sea emerged a monster that looks like a giant snake and a whale.
Leviathan
A gigantic snake-whale hybrid. It has a powerful tail and eyes sensitive to light.
Tom gripped his katana tightly and looked at the monster with deadly eyes. This was a level A being; it was almost impossible to injure it, let alone defeat it. But Tom vowed that even if he died, he would not despair.
The monster took a step. All the people who had been fighting had already fled. It was a strange scene: On the one side, people fleeing, and on the other side, among hundreds of monsters, a severely wounded man staring defiantly at the huge Leviathan.
Just then, Tom heard a voice behind him. A man in his fifties put his hand on Tom’s shoulder.
"Son, you have my admiration. I’ve never seen anyone in my life look at death as fearlessly as you do."
"What is your name?" the man asked.
"Tom," said Tom.
"Hmm, Tom. You can rest now," said the man.
Tom suddenly felt like he was flying. He was being carried towards the part where the soldiers were.
When he landed, the soldiers’ doctors came to him and put him on a stretcher. They were horrified to see his wounds. They could not understand how Tom was still alive.
Tom then saw Ferguson and grabbed his jacket and said:
"Ferguson, can you get my bag?"
Ferguson was surprised at first, but when he realized how serious Tom was, he brought his bag. Tom told him to put it on his lap. Ferguson complied. Tom became semi-conscious after clutching his bag tightly. If he lost consciousness completely, there was a good chance he would die. But he had entered a state of mind where he could only face the pain.
Tom woke up suddenly. His mind and body were in pain; his wounds were excruciating. He decided to look at his statistics to forget his pain for a moment:

Tom realized that his Demon Steps and Katana Mastery skills had improved considerably. Although this made him happy, he could not smile because of the pain he was suffering.
His mana was completely depleted, giving him a severe headache. His face and body were so deformed by his injuries that his attractiveness dropped by 20 points.
While Tom was thinking about all this, before he knew it, they had reached the base camp. Jac anxiously came up to him and started talking:
"When I first saw you, I thought you were joking. I didn’t know you were really crazy enough to walk into an army of monsters."
As Jac looked at Tom’s wounds, she couldn’t understand how he had survived. Tom’s survival was due to his legendary endurance and extraordinary adaptability. He was as tough as a giant cockroach.
Jac shouted an order:
"Get the highest quality healing potions now! What are you waiting for, you fools!"
Just then Tom grabbed Jac’s wrist. In a weak voice he said, "Remember your promise to me. I want to enter the Lake of Sorrows now."
Jac looked at him in surprise and anger:
"Are you crazy? If you go in like this, you will die 100%!"
Tom knew this, but he believed he had to take risks to gain strength. He was sure he would survive.
"This is none of your business. Find me a big glass bottle and take me to the Lake of Pain," he said decisively.
Jac could not object because it was his own decision. Life was his life, but it would be a great loss for such a genius to die because of his stupidity. Jac decided to take him to the Lake of Sorrows. He called three soldiers: She ordered one of them to find a large glass bottle and the other two to carry Tom..
