Chapter 209: Chapter 209: Anima(Part 8)

"Well? I’m waiting. Go on, what’s the hold up? Weren’t you going to kill me?" Inquired Raven icily.

"H-Hey, this has to be some kind of trick, r-right? Right?! N-No one should have such an intense Aura, i-it’s not possible, it can’t be possible!"

"Nah, fuck this, I’m out!" Exclaimed the other hooded figure, starting to reach for his pocket before turning his gaze down as his hand seemingly missed, his eyes widening in horror.

His hand was laying on the floor, right as a violent spray of blood erupted from the stump left around his wrist, an agonized cry of pain ringing out as he stumbled back, clutching his wrist tightly in a desperate effort to stem the bleeding.

"Wha-...?!" Blurted out the other one in shock, before he reached into his pocket too, yelling frantically, "Where’s my Spell, damn it?!"

"Looking for these?"

The two hooded figures stiffened as Raven’s voice echoed out from behind them, spinning around before quickly backing away in terror as he held up six Spell Cards, before firing out his beams from his eyes and scorching them.

The cards got charred to ash in a matter of seconds, falling apart and crumbling as Raven’s beams razed them in no time.

"Wh-When did he...?!"

"H-Hey, what the hell do we do?! He just destroyed all our Spells, w-we can’t escape, damn it! What do we do?!"

"You’ll do nothing. Surrender quietly and I won’t hurt you, I’ll simply restrain you and take you in for questioning. Or, we can do this the hard way...you keep resisting, I take away a few more body parts, until there isn’t enough left of you two to fight. Either way, this ends the same way. So, go on, make your choice," Remarked Raven, narrowing his eyes at them slightly.

"Y-You damned human!" Snarled one of them, taking out a whip and swinging it towards Raven with a sharp flick of his wrist.

Raven swiftly extended out a tendril with a razor-sharp edge and whipped it across, striking the whip and slicing through, the hooded figure grimacing before firing out a blast of sound towards Raven.

Raven snapped his jaws open and fired out a sharp burst of sonic sound, drowning out the hooded figure’s attack as they collided, before charging up an intensely swirling fireball in his hand and launching it towards them with a powerful swing of his arm.

The hooded figures scrambled in alarm before leaping away to either side, narrowly evading the flames before turning their gaze towards Raven as he began approaching them, his footsteps echoing across the room.

"Is that all you’ve got? How insulting...to attack me when you’re this weak, you’re either foolish or suicidal. So, tell me...you regretting this yet?"

Meanwhile, elsewhere in the hotel...

"Damn it! This guy’s a real pain to fight!" Exclaimed one of the hooded figures, swinging a spear at Akila, which phased right through him, before Akila struck the figure’s side with the back of his right blade, eliciting a wince of pain.

A stone arrow came shooting in towards Akila, before phasing through his head as he shot through the Lancer, spinning around as he slipped behind him, before whipping the back of his left blade at the back of the figure’s neck.

The hooded figure quickly ducked under the swing of Akila’s blade, before whipping his spear across at Akila’s legs, grimacing as the blade of his spear phased right through.

His eyes widened in alarm as Akila swiftly drove his knee up, slamming it square onto the middle of the figure’s face, breaking his nose upon impact and knocking him onto his back.

"Surrender. I’m stronger than you, you can’t beat me," Remarked Akila, pointing his blade at the Lancer, before turning his back intangible as several arrows came shooting towards him.

As they phased through him, one of the arrows grazed the Lancer’s left cheek, a couple of others narrowly missing and landing near him.

"You almost hit your friend, you should be careful," Frowned Akila, glancing back at the Archer.

"Hah, we’re all prepared to risk our lives for this cause. If our deaths are the price to pay for protecting our nation from you filthy humans, then so be it!" Exclaimed the Archer, firing another stone arrow at Akila, right as the Lancer unleashed a blast of light at Akila’s feet, who winced as the soles of his feet got injured as the blast struck them, gritting his teeth as he turned his head intangible, the arrow phasing through.

The Lancer sprang back on his feet and swung his spear across to deflect the arrow as it closed in on him, wiping away the blood streaming down from his nose with a grimace, before spitting out a blood-soaked tooth.

"Your Magic is annoying to deal with, and you’re fairly skilled...but you aren’t untouchable. If you were fully intangible, you’d fall straight through the floor. Which means, at the very least, the bottom of your feet must still be tangible!" Exclaimed the Lancer, before blinding Akila with a bright flash of light from his hand.

Akila grimaced as his eyelids got forced shut, starting to feel the tip of the blade of the Lancer’s spear piercing through the skin on the middle of his chest, before quickly turning his entire body intangible, the spear phasing through before it could stab any deeper into his chest.

A couple of arrows whizzed through him, before he cried out sharply as the Lancer drove his spear through Akila’s left foot, inflicting a deep, wide cut across the sole.

Akila gritted his teeth and whipped his blades out blindly, literally, the Lancer pulling his spear back out and backing away, before Akila raced across the space, aiming to stay on the move until he could open his eyes again, straining his eyelids to get them open as fast as possible.

His left shoulder against the barrier, before he raced forward, a startled cry ringing out as he crashed onto the bed and fell onto the mattress, grimacing before quickly rolling off it, several arrows shooting towards him and getting lodged into the mattress, right as the Lancer shot forward and slashed at Akila’s right foot, narrowly missing as Akila rolled off the bed and backed away, turning himself fully intangible again, as his eyelids finally managed to crack open, but his vision was still blurry.

"Damn it...not that I was going to run, but evidently, I can’t pass through the barrier sealing this room. My entire body is starting to ache, I can’t maintain my intangibility for too much longer," Akila thought to himself through gritted teeth, struggling to try and get his eyes fully open as his entire body throbbed with increasing pain, the backlash from maintaining his Magic continuously starting to seriously take its toll.

"Just die already!" Exclaimed the Lancer, leaping towards Akila and driving his spear towards Akila’s throat, the blade phasing through his neck right as he finally got his eyes fully open again.

He reached out and grabbed the handle of the Lancer’s spear, giving it a sharp tug before swinging his head forward, dazing the Lancer as he slammed his forehead against his. freēwēbηovel.c૦m

The Lancer stumbled back with a dazed groan, before Akila swiftly spun around and whipped his blades across as several stone arrows came shooting in, deflecting them away.

"Huh? You didn’t let them phase through you this time...I see, you can’t maintain your strange Magic for very long, can you? Otherwise, you wouldn’t have gone through the trouble of deflecting them instead. You are fairly skilled, and your Magic is more than a little tricky to deal with, but your battle sense isn’t all that sharp," Surmised the Archer with a smirk, before firing out a couple more arrows.

Akila deflected them away with his blades, before ducking as the Lancer sprang up behind him and slashed at the back of Akila’s head with his spear, severing a couple of strands of hair as Akila narrowly ducked under the swing of the blade.

"Don’t underestimate me...," Muttered Akila, spinning around and unleashing a rapid sweeping knock, striking the Lancer’s ankles and knocking him over with a startled yelp, before adding, "Even without my Magic, I’m far from helpless!"

He drove the bottom of the handle of one of his blades towards the Lancer’s head as he hit the floor with a thud, his eyes widening before he quickly rolled out of the way.

Akila’s blade handle hit the floor with a thunk, a couple of cracks spreading out across the tile upon impact, the Lancer springing back onto his feet and backing away warily, letting out a slow exhale to compose himself.

"I can do this...I can definitely beat them. I’ll wait till the backlash from my Magic cools down, and then I’ll take them down in one fell swoop," Akila thought to himself with a determined grimace...
