[BL] Mr. Romano Contracted Husband-Chapter 117: Completing My Life [END]
Without thinking twice, the day after Julian received a phone call that took him by surprise, they immediately went to their destination.
It turned out that the call came from the adoption center where they wanted to adopt Luna. The adoption center called them asking them to come immediately because there was something important to discuss.
"After we received a report from someone, we finally got permission to re-check your family’s background and we decided to allow you to adopt Luna."
Those were the words that Julian heard, which surprised him greatly. That’s why the next day they immediately went to the city where the adoption center was located just to pick up their adopted daughter.
During the trip, Julian seemed very impatient to meet Luna. He looked very excited, even after receiving the good news.
"I can’t believe we finally got to adopt her! It feels like waking up from a nightmare where we failed to get her. Then, four months after the rejection, they suddenly called us!" he said happily to Arcane, who was driving the car at the time.
"I feel the same way. It’s like a miracle, suddenly everything changed. But what still puzzles me is who reported it to them. You said someone called them and clarified what happened," said Arcane.
Julian nodded, because that was what the adoption center said, that someone had called them and explained what had actually happened in Arcane’s previous case. It was as if that person had cleared his name, and they were finally processed again to check the background of their family.
He also didn’t know who that person was, and he was sure that the adoption center wouldn’t answer who had called them.
Sure enough, when the two of them arrived at the adoption center where Luna was, Arcane asked them about it. He asked who had made the clarification that caused the adoption center to change their mind.
But they couldn’t tell them who did it.
"We’re sorry, but we can’t tell you who did it. He asked us not to reveal his identity to anyone, including you," said Sandra, the owner of the place.
"It’s okay. If he calls again, please tell him we thank him."
The two of them were then escorted to the waiting room, where Sandra finally called Luna to come there. It didn’t take long for the 3 year old girl to walk into the room with a bag on her back, hugging her favorite rabbit doll, Mr. Tabby.
At first, the girl looked scared and sad, but when she saw Julian and Arcane’s faces, her smile returned.
She ran towards them and immediately hugged Julian.
"You’re back! You’re finally back!" she said happily after not seeing them for almost six months.
The little girl thought they didn’t want her, which was why they hadn’t come back to take her home.
"I thought you weren’t coming back. I thought you didn’t like me!" she said while crying, which made the two men feel terrible.
Their hearts broke seeing how a sweet girl like her was crying because she thought they didn’t want to adopt her. Julian cupped her cheeks, looked into her eyes, and wiped her tears with his thumbs.
"That’s not true! We really wanted to adopt you and take you home. However, many things happened that prevented us from doing so quickly. Don’t worry, this time we will definitely take you home!" Julian said.
"He’s right, this time we’re taking you home on a pretty long trip. But don’t worry," said Arcane, ruffling Luna’s hair. "You won’t get bored on the way because your Papa will be there to entertain you."
After all of Luna’s belongings were moved into the car, they left the adoption center and took the girl home. During the trip, Julian chose to sit in the back seat to accompany the girl.
They chatted, laughed, and ate snacks together.
During their conversation, they agreed to call Julian "papa" and Arcane "daddy." This was done intentionally so that there would be no confusion later on. They thought Luna would be confused by the two terms for "father," but it turned out she accepted it well.
When they arrived home, she was greeted with a small party that Julian had prepared.
"Welcome home, Luna!"
They decorated the living room with beautiful decorations, and Julian and Arcane had even prepared a cake for her, which they had stored in the refrigerator.
It was a chocolate strawberry cake that looked so delicious. When Luna first saw the cake, she immediately smiled widely, and her innocent eyes sparkled as she stared at the cake she was seeing for the first time.
"Since your birth certificate doesn’t have a birth date, how about we make today your birthday?"
Luna seemed to agree with Julian’s suggestion, nodding enthusiastically, then they placed the candles on the cake and sang the birthday song.
The 3 year old girl blew out the candles, and they clapped their hands joyfully, as if a new birth had come to their family. A family member to complete the couple.
"Papa Julian..." she called out.
"Yes, what is it?" Julian replied.
Luna then turned to Arcane. "Daddy Arcane..."
"Hm?" Arcane responded with a smile.
She smiled back at them both with a wide, happy smile. She asked them to hug her. The two men hugged the girl, promising to take good care of her and be parents who would always love her.
Their lives were going so well, slowly everything seemed perfect again as if the previous tragedy had never happened.
As if they had weathered those difficult times together, when the trial struck them.
Perhaps it was time to turn the page to a deeper Chapter.
*****
Julian’s POV
A lot has happened since I met you. But do I regret it? Of course not. I actually saw a whole new world when I was with you, and I’m actually grateful for that.
Arcane... Do you remember the first time we met at the bus station? You saved me by stopping the thief who was taking my phone. And who would have thought that it was the beginning of our story...
And this isn’t the end of our journey, but the beginning of everything with Luna joining us.
Are you ready to walk with me through everything once again?
*****
Arcane’s POV
You’re right, a lot has happened between us and it has really tested my patience. However, even though I have to marry someone as careless and annoying as you, I have never once complained about it, but instead I am even more attracted to you.
If loving you is a mistake in everyone’s eyes, then let me take all the blame and let them point fingers at me.
I don’t care if I have to fight them as long as I can stay with you. You are the one who completes what is missing in me. Not as a replacement, but as the complement I’ve been hoping for, and I will never let you go.
And once again, you’re right. This isn’t the end of the journey, but the beginning of a new life together with our little princess who will grow up with us.
Am I ready for that? I will always be ready if it’s with you.
****
Thank you for coming and staying in this home and in my heart. Because you are the reason why I come home with a smile and a warm feeling.
