Chapter 118: A New Life Begins

Six months had passed since Luna came into their lives. Their days were more enjoyable than ever before, thanks to the little girl’s presence..

Although they had struggled to cover the costs of raising their daughter, many family members from both Arcane and Julian’s sides had helped them out.

Because of this, their wedding had to be postponed, as the money had been used to adopt Luna.

"I don’t mind. Besides, if we want to take pictures wearing wedding clothes, we can do it ourselves. The most important thing is that we have long been registered as a married couple, I think that’s enough!" Julian said to Arcane to calm her down.

He didn’t want to burden his husband with a big wedding party. He thought it was better for them to save their money for their family’s future. Especially now that Luna was with them, they needed more money for his school fees.

However, Arcane insisted on having a party, at least for their family and close friends.

Considering that such a moment was precious and they hoped it would only happen once in a lifetime.

Julian couldn’t force Arcane to forget about the plan, but he also didn’t want the man to push himself to work harder to earn more money.

Luna was now 4 years old, and in another year she would have to go to kindergarten. But for now, they were trying to focus on raising Luna.

"If Daddy has 5 candies, and I give you 3 candies, how many candies do you have now?" Arcane asked his daughter.

The violet haired girl looked confused and tried to count the candies she currently had. She saw the 5 candies that Arcane had been holding, then gave her 3 pieces.

"Why only 3? Can’t I have all of them?" she asked innocently, looking up at her father.

Julian, who was with them at the time, tried to hold back his laughter at their daughter’s innocence. Arcane nudged his arm, trying to stop Julian from laughing.

He turned back to her and shook his head.

"That’s not what Daddy meant. Listen to me, try to count how many candies you have right now." He gathered the five candies again, took three of them, and gave them to Luna.

The little girl bit her finger, then counted the candies she had one by one with that finger.

"One... Two... Three!" she said with a happy yet confused look on her face, staring at Arcane to find out if her answer was correct or not.

That’s when Julian immediately clapped his hands, because Luna had counted correctly.

"You’re great! The answer is indeed three!" he said cheerfully.

Seeing herself being praised like that, Luna smiled broadly and looked shy. Arcane also smiled, ruffling her hair proudly.

Every night after coming home from teaching and having dinner, Arcane would teach Luna mathematics. Remembering that he was a math teacher, he wanted his daughter to be good at math at her young age.

At least simple things like plus and minus first.

"So I heard from your father that there will be a school trip. If asked to be a supervisor on the trip. Is that true?" Julian asked her husband as they sat watching television.

Meanwhile, Luna sat on the rugs eating her snacks and watching cartoons.

Arcane confirmed this, saying he had been assigned to supervise one of the groups on the school trip. They would be going out of town for a vacation for the 12th graders.

"They usually do this for a farewell ceremony before graduation. It’s a chance to have fun with friends. I’m sure you did it too when you were in 12th grade," said Arcane.

The green-haired man nodded his head, understanding what school trips were usually like, especially since they would be staying overnight.

"So you’ll be gone for three days and two nights? That’s quite a long time. But it’s good for them because it will definitely be difficult to meet again after graduation," said Julian, nodding in agreement.

He then asked who the supervisors for the school trip would be, and when Arcane mentioned them one by one, Kyle’s name was there.

Julian’s expression immediately turned unhappy, especially knowing that Arcane would definitely be spending the night with the language teacher. Even though he knew his husband was a faithful man and would never approach another man, he still didn’t like the thought of Kyle trying to get close to Arcane on this occasion.

Realizing that Julian would be unhappy to hear one name, Arcane immediately pulled him onto his lap and stroked his head gently.

"Are you jealous?" he asked.

"Why would I be jealous? After all, you are my husband. Why would I feel jealous? Other people may hope to be with you, but it’s clear that you are mine," replied Julian.

Even so, it still sounded like Julian wasn’t quite satisfied with his own answer. Arcane then glanced at Luna, who was sitting on the rugs right in front of them, making sure the girl wasn’t looking back, then kissed Julian on the lips.

He kissed him deeply, as if to emphasize that he only had eyes for him. He would never be interested in another man, because Julian had always been by his side, even during his most difficult times.

Feeling the soft, warm kiss, Julian kissed him back even more deeply, wrapping his arms around Arcane’s neck.

Only for a moment, they broke their kiss because they were worried Luna might see them. He was still too young to see his parents being intimate like that.

"You don’t need to feel jealous, because as you said, I clearly belong to you and Luna. Just like you and Luna, that’s where I belong. I belong to both of you, you understand?" He wiped Julian’s lower lip with his thumb, removing the saliva that had appeared on his lips.

"I understand. But when you go on that trip, don’t forget to contact me and Luna too."

He nodded and kissed his forehead. "Of course. I definitely will."

Two weeks later, Arcane packed his bag with a few clothes for a three day, two night stay with the students from school and several teachers who would be supervising with him.

"Well, I have to leave now or I’ll miss the bus," he said.

Luna ran toward her father and hugged him tightly. "Sniffle sniffle... Daddy, promise you’ll come back?"

"Daddy will definitely come home. Don’t worry, Papa is with you. Don’t forget to practice the counting Daddy taught you." Arcane hugged his daughter tightly and kissed her forehead before finally handing her over to Julian.

She buried her face in his neck, while Julian’s hands gently stroked her head, trying to calm her down. The man then turned to his husband and asked him to be careful.

Before leaving, Arcane kissed Julian on the lips and smiled.

"I’ll be back soon. I’ll bring you some souvenirs. Take care of yourselves at home."
