The journey through the portal was not the most comfortable, but Kaiden forced his body to move. He did not care if anyone else made it across or not, and soon he stepped foot into that new world.

Tall buildings dominated the city space, and lights covered the horizon, making the world shine.

It was a totally different and crowded world from where he had just come from. But even then, Kaiden did not feel an inch of surprise.

"This... looks like a different and more advanced world. I recall seeing a few worlds like this before that great war..."

Nero’s eyes looked across the world, and he was lost in thoughts of war and conquest from the past.

Caelis was the only one who looked a little surprised. But it was because this was his first time officially coming to another world.

"Ugh, this world is so bright, even at night. I think I might have a headache while staying here. I should also age myself up a bit to fit in here."

Somehow, Caelis’s instincts told him that this world was a little noisy, and him being young could cause problems for him. So he used his magic to age himself up around seven years at the moment.

Kaiden looked out as well, and just as they were about to head down, the sky started to split apart and something tried to escape the rift.

"Looks like this world has its own fair share of problems. But I doubt we will need to do anything. Look, the humans have already started to gather around there."

Nero pointed out as he looked down.

Just as Nero said, a small group of people had gathered around and were using their abilities in order to hold that thing in the sky back. They were barely able to make a difference until more powerful people arrived and drove that threat back.

The rift in the sky began to close itself, and that entity from the outside slowly returned back to where it came from.

"It seems like the danger is over. Well, shall we head out to find Shuu now?"

Kaiden asked as he watched the thread spreading thinner and thinner every second. It was slowly disappearing, but he was not worried.

Kaiden was confident that he would be able to find Shuu, no matter what. But to do that, he needed power and authority in this world.

"Let’s go and see what this world is about and what we can do here. Once we have established ourselves, it will be easy to find Shuu."

Thankfully, this world had easy ways to gain information, and by the end of the third day, Kaiden not only knew what he needed to know about this world, but he also had a plan.

What he had found so far was as follows— the god of this world did not like to interfere, and instead communicated with others using an interface known as ’the system.’

This world had guides and espers fighting against the rifts and the ’Demon King,’ who was just a program written by the system and had no physical identity.

And lastly, Shuu was currently occupying the body of a former low-ranking guide, but due to interference, that had changed to the highest-ranked guide or something similar.

Kaiden did not care for that last part, but the system was making it annoyingly difficult to find Shuu like this.

"Tsk, it seems there are restrictions in this world that are preventing me from using my full power here. It seems like I have no choice but to take part in this game as well if I want to find Shuu."

Kaiden sounded excited as he forced the system to bend to his will.

At first, he wanted to take the identity of the highest-class esper so that he could make Shuu his partner. But then he had another idea.

If he was going to steal Shuu back from this world, then there was no reason for him to be a ’good person.’ He was already the Demon King, so he did not mind playing the demon king’s role here as well.

He was going to force this world to hand Shuu back to him—or perish if they refused.

The system protested when Kaiden tried to force its hand. It groaned and resisted before finally settling down into its present form.

"Did you finally decide to give up? There is no point in struggling to fight against me. We both know it is not a fight you can win."

The system continued to protest, but with a little more pressure it finally realized that it could not hold on for much longer.

It would break apart at this rate and not be able to recover.

So it made its decision and allowed Kaiden to do what he wanted.

Kaiden wasted no time creating false identities for himself and the other two. And now, it was time to find Shuu.

The system let out a terrified sound as it tried to make itself seem as small as possible, but Kaiden only gave it a smile.

"Don’t worry. I won’t cause you any harm... as long as you cooperate with me. But if you step out of line, then it’s over for you. Do you understand me?"

Kaiden kept smiling as he asked this, but the system looked terrified of him and what he would do next.

Thankfully, Kaiden did not have much desire to do anything except find Shuu.

"Let’s see where this thread is heading to..."

The thread broke, but Kaiden had a general idea of where Shuu was at the moment. And now, they needed to make Shuu aware that they were here as well.

And what better way to present themselves to the world?

Caelis was both young and talented, so he was the perfect person to make the ’face’ of this mission.
