"Tell me then. What do you plan on doing?"
Zion took a seat. "Okay, hear me out. It’s obvious that Azmorath is trying to take over the Middle World, so instead of letting him do so, I’ll take it over instead."
"Yeah, that was the plan." Lilith interrupted.
"Just listen. There are three months until I have to fight for you, so during that time, I’ll take over the remaining three kingdoms, get the ancient relics, and stop Azmorath from planting his foot on the soil. He needs the middle world, so I’ll take it from him instead, and once I win the Demon Ranking, BOOM, you wage war against him."
Lilith thought about it for a bit, taking into consideration, and honestly, she agreed with him. She assumed it would be difficult to stop Azmorath from invading the middle world, but if Zion was able to do what he said, then things would go a lot smoother.
"Okay, I agree. However, you have two months. I’m sure the beastman and Dwarven kingdoms won’t be too difficult to handle; however, the dragons are another story. So, don’t take too long. After you finish, you’ll head to your fracture, and I’ll help you train until you become strong enough to fight for me."
Zion nodded.
"Oh, by the way. Do you have any other representative?" He asked. Surely he wasn’t the only one fighting for her.
She nodded. "I do. Three of them. But I’m not using them since I want to use you as a way to bring peace between our people."
"Oh, cool." Okay, I’ll get going now."
---
On one part of the demon world, in a castle that had a large waterfall of blood flowing behind it, Azmorath was sitting in a dark room, drinking a glass of blood as he looked out the window.
"Were you able to gauge how powerful he was?" He asked a woman who was kneeling behind him.
"Yes, father. He’s around the Grand Demon level. However, he didn’t use his full power, so he may be stronger." Anastasia reported. Just being in her father’s presence made her body shake in fear.
"And the others?" He asked coldly.
"D-Dead."
He swirled the blood around in his cup, taking a sip before speaking. "Interesting. He’s a lot stronger than you reported."
"I-I don’t know how he became so strong within a year either. He was so weak that if it wasn’t for the ancient relic, I would have crushed him with ease. Now...now he beat me as if I were a useless piece of trash." Anastasia had always looked down on humans or any other race in the Middle World. Even their strongest were simply as strong as High-Ranking demons.
"He’s close to it then."
"Close to what?" She asked.
"Ascending. Breaking through the boundary of his mortality. He’s on the cusp of becoming a demigod." Azmorath finished his drink, then crushed his glass out of anger.
"A demigod! Impossible! There hasn’t been a mortal demigod since...since almost forever!"
"He reached the peak of his power and needs to ascend. I’m sure he can feel it. We demons did too once we reached the Demon King level. There is a reason why only five demons only reached the Archdemon level. It’s because we all managed to ascend and survive the process. If he becomes a demigod, then all of our plans will be ruined. Do we still have people in their realm?"
"Y-Yes, father!"
"Tell them to accelerate our plans. We need those divine relics before he gets his hands on them. And once I kill him in the demon rankings, I’ll have the two that would have been mine if not for the failure of you, Gonrod, and Xalvorn."
"I apologize, Father. I won’t fail you again!"
"That would be wise. Now go."
She bowed, turning into bats before vanishing from the room.
"Karyndra." He spoke lowly.
A golden pillar of light blasted into his room. Stepping out of the light was a beautiful woman dressed in white and gold with eight angelic wings extended from her back with a halo over her head. She had black hair and golden eyes, and she walked with authority.
"You called." She asked, sitting on his lap and wrapping her arms around his neck.
"It’s about Zion." He said emotionlessly, not paying attention to Karyndra’s actions.
"The boy of my former master? What about him?"
"He’s on the verge of becoming a demigod. You should act soon."
She got up, anger sewn across her face. "And the relics? You know I need them to break the barrier that’s stopping angels from descending! That bitch Luminera even has her heavily realm back!"
"I’m working on it."
"Tsk, last time you said that, you lost two relics to that child. Now you’re saying this bullshit again? Give me a break. You’re not working on shit!"
"The boy is participating in the demon rankings," Azmorath informed her.
"What? He’s here? Now? What are you waiting for? Kill him and take the relics!"
He shook his head. "Lilith is protecting him, and you know how she is."
Karyndra scoffed. "I’ve always hated that succubus."
"How are things going on your end?"
Karyndra placed a finger on her chin, then revealed the most wicked grin known to man. "Everything is going wonderfully! There’s a civil war going on in the upper world. The angels who are siding with the gods are putting up a good fight. As for the rest of us, well, things will be a lot easier if we had those relics, that’s all I’m saying."
At this point, it was as if she was rubbing in his failure. Making sure he knew that it was his end that was halting their progress. Still, Azmorath didn’t take any offense to that and just continued to stare out his window.
He stood up and faced the angel, wrapping his arms around her waist and pulling her into his embrace. "Soon. Just hold out a little longer. Soon, we won’t live under the reign of the Gods or the Devils anymore. This world will be ours to rule."
"So hurry up and make me your queen!" She grumbled
"Anything for you, my dear. Do you plan on doing anything to Zion at this current moment?"
Karyndra smiled. "I think it’s okay for me to see the power of the person that has the Gods in shambles right now, no? I’ll make a call."
