Bride of the Serpent King-Chapter 54:Her Punishment, His Rage
Chapter 54: Chapter 54:Her Punishment, His Rage
Chapter 53: Her Punishment, His Rage
Zaiyila looked at Anabel and sighed. "She was the one that got me into trouble, I lost my temper all thanks to her, now I’m getting annoyed again just by looking at her but I shouldn’t, I shouldn’t make things worse than it was" she thought, lowering her gaze.
Anabel stared at Zaiyila with deep resentment. "I only went to the principal to report her, but she actually supported her and threatened to fire me instead, If not for the fact that the principal is a woman I would have thought of something else. Her background must be more powerful than the others... but so what? Even if I get fired today, I must teach her a lesson, she dare to insult me in public making me lose face, there’s no mercy" she mused bitterly.
"Remove that silly mask from your face," she demanded.
Zaiyila frowned. "What exactly is wrong with this woman?" she thought, about to speak, but Anabel suddenly reached out and yanked the mask off her face, revealing Zaiyila’s breathtaking beauty.
The entire class gasped in shock, all eyes glued to Zaiyila, practically drooling at the sight.
"Oh my! I didn’t expect her to be this pretty! I thought she was hiding an extremely ugly face under that mask!"
"My goodness, why would anyone hide such beauty?"
"Am I dreaming, or am I actually looking at a fairy now?!"
Even Anabel was stunned. Truth be told, she had expected Zaiyila to be hiding her face because it’s embarrassing and wanted to humiliate her with it. Who would have thought she was a stunning beauty hiding in low profile?
Staring at Zaiyila’s flawless face, Anabel gritted her teeth in jealousy, regretting her action. She slammed her hand on the table in frustration and snapped, "And who exactly are you trying to impress? Don’t tell me you don’t know makeup isn’t allowed in school!"
Zaiyila met her gaze calmly, not uttering a word.
Anabel bit her lower lip, struggling to suppress her anger. "Out of my class now! And you’re to go and wash the empty hall 224 times. That’s the punishment for your three sins: disobeying your teacher, insulting your teacher, and violating school rules," she declared furiously. "There’s a camera there—dare not to wash and rewash 224 times, and you’ll be expelled!" she hissed.
Zaiyila didn’t respond. She simply stood up, retrieved her mask, and walked out of the classroom.
...
The empty hall was a dilapidated area located in the high building of the school. It was broken and deserted, with shattered windows and an eerie silence. The space was massive—wide enough that washing it once would leave anyone utterly drained.
Zaiyila approached a broken window and glanced down, only to quickly retreat from the dizziness. The view was terrifying—it felt like staring at the earth from the sky.
She took another look at the vast, desolate hall and sighed. "Two hundred and twenty-four times," she murmured. "Maybe if I complete this punishment, Everett’s anger will ease once he finds out what happened today, she thought and went outside to fetch water, a mop, and some cleaning liquid. "I can do this," she whispered, then began cleaning.
---
By 6:45 in the evening, Everett sat inside his luxurious car, waiting patiently—but his brows were deeply furrowed.
"Your Majesty, should I go and remind the Queen?" the young driver asked respectfully.
Everett shot him a murderous glare, and the man quickly apologized.
Without a word, Everett stepped out of the car and walked inside. "Don’t tell me she actually forgot I’m waiting for her outside. Looks like some things need to change around here," he thought, heading straight to her classroom. But it was empty, not a single student in sight. His frown deepened as he checked other classrooms—still empty.
"Did that annoying human friend of hers drag her off again? No... she would’ve told me if that happened," he thought, brows knit with worry. He pulled out his phone and tried to call her, but her line wasn’t reachable. Growing uneasy, he made his way to the principal’s office.
.....
Inside, a beautiful woman with short black hair sat at her chair, rubbing her forehead in exhaustion, papers and books scattered on her desk messily.
"I’m so tired... this is just too exhausting," she murmured. She powered on the laptop in front of her—and immediately, the screen lit up with footage of Zaiyila washing the abandoned hall.
Her eyes widened in horror. She leaned in to get a better look. It was indeed Zaiyila, her face pale and her body visibly exhausted. Then, before she could even blink, Zaiyila collapsed to the ground, unmoving.
The principal slammed her hand on the table in fury, her expression ghostly pale. "Who dared send her to do that!?" she growled through clenched teeth.
"No, this is all wrong! If she’s still in school, that means Mr. Everett must already be looking for her! I’m done for! I’m completely doomed! Who’s the bastard that put my life on the line?!" she panicked.
She rushed to the door, peeked outside to make sure the coast was clear, then bolted straight toward the empty hall. "I need to get her to the hospital before he finds her! Once she wakes up, I’ll just beg her to plead for me," she thought, running at full speed.
Moments later, Everett arrived. He could have come sooner, but had chosen to walk, believing his Queen was merely staying late somewhere, studying—something she loved to do. Even he sometimes questioned whether he had made the right choice in allowing her to attend school.
"I really should punish her," he muttered with a sigh. He opened the principal’s door and found the office empty. His frown deepened as he glanced toward the entrance. "She just left here," he noted.
He turned to go but suddenly froze. His eyes began to glow, and a wave of murderous aura radiated from him. His gaze slowly shifted back to the laptop on the desk.
