By Seeing Beasts' Training Paths, My Beast Became Invincible-Chapter 56: How cunning humans are
’’Stay here. I’ll come back soon.’’ Rocky nodded and turned into one of Matt’s forms. He flew up into midair, stretching his wings and sliding through the sky.
His pupils turned into vertical slits like a beast as he gazed into the distance. The next moment, he dashed forward, heading toward Bobby.
Before long, he spotted Bobby, who also noticed him. Yet his eyes were completely cold, carrying no welcome for Rocky, as if Rocky was nothing more than a stranger.
Rocky swiftly landed on the ground and regained his balance. He stood straight while gazing at Bobby, who dropped the oversized sack and headed over to him.
’’Do you recognize me, Bobby?’’ Rocky asked.
Bobby blinked for a moment and slowly dismissed his obsidian armor, revealing his pitch-black fur.
He blossomed into a warm smile as he approached Rocky. It was totally different from his previous reaction.
Maybe Bobby was still fine.
As soon as the distance between them narrowed to two meters, Bobby’s face twisted maniacally. His expression turned fully mocking and disdainful.
Bang!
A sneaky attack—Bobby had concealed his ragged knife behind his back and struck when the timing felt right.
Of course, Rocky had already known, thanks to Alina’s omen.
He stepped back a few paces, using his thumb to check the damage to the gash on the right cheek of his helmet. He had already summoned his armor the moment he sensed the slightest trace of murderous intent from Bobby. 𝒻𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝘯𝘰𝑣ℯ𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝘮
He couldn’t imagine what would’ve happened if Alina hadn’t had that omen for him.
What a relief!
’’What cunning! That’s exactly what I hoped from my beast, but you should use crafty tricks on your enemy, not your master.’’
Bobby giggled as he tilted his head. He swiftly summoned obsidian armor over his body.
With a nodachi in hand, he fell into a stance, gazing at Rocky as though a predator analyzing its prey.
Rocky’s expression darkened as he also summoned jet-black armor over his body. He chose a katana instead of a longsword like the nodachi—after all, his body didn’t suit that weapon.
Rocky wouldn’t use the [Chaotic Transformation] skill either, because he knew Matt had no forms capable of defeating Bobby.
Bobby’s build wasn’t too big, nor too small for a beast in this world—it was perfectly average, able to fight anything.
But thanks to his unique skills, Bobby could summon any weapon suited to each enemy.
Even though his appearance wasn’t flashy or threatening like Matt’s, Rocky could tell one thing.
The ape was the strongest of his beasts.
’’It’s not easy.’’
Bobby was the one who started the match.
Soon, the clashing sounds of weapons echoed loudly across the place—forming a strange, almost soothing melody.
The shadowy figures of the two warriors flashed nonstop across the battlefield.
Rocky’s breath hissed sharply through the air as he performed a series of acrobatic moves to dodge the precise, merciless assaults from the gigantic ape.
In the blink of an eye, Rocky caught the ape’s vicious eyes through the slit of its helmet as it suddenly appeared before him. It smirked and brought its blade down in a heavy slash.
But thanks to his smaller stature compared to Bobby, Rocky easily dodged and countered with a fatal strike.
Soon, a long gash formed across the ape’s breastplate.
They continued to exchange tit-for-tat blows in a storm of crashing steel.
In short, the tide of battle was perfectly balanced—neither side gained the upper hand.
Obviously, possessing the same skills led to this result. But in a life-and-death match, victory wasn’t decided by things like that.
It was decided by the tenacity within each warrior, the one who kept thinking without rest in the middle of battle.
How could I win?
Rocky and Bobby weren’t simply exchanging blows for nothing—they were measuring their chances, searching for a new way to kill.
After five minutes, each of them had their own answer.
Bobby’s answer was blunt and realistic.
He had better stamina than Rocky, who was only human. If the fight dragged on, the advantage would naturally tilt toward him.
It was simple.
So Bobby stopped rushing. His strikes began to slow, shifting into a more defensive rhythm. He would slowly drain Rocky’s stamina until he was nothing more than a worn-out shell.
Rocky frowned as he realized Bobby’s cunning intention.
’’Damn it! You fu*king ape.’’
Rocky roared in anger. Every vein bulged with rage.
Watching his enemy overreact, Bobby giggled in satisfaction, thinking his plan had worked perfectly.
As time passed, Rocky began to show signs of fatigue.
It must be true... Hahahaha.
Bobby chuckled as adrenaline surged through his veins, anticipating the moment of victory.
Meanwhile, Rocky kept scolding and cursing Bobby in seeming powerlessness, like a pathetic prey. As the seconds dragged on, Bobby’s pupils widened—the opportunity had ripened.
In an instant, he slashed off Rocky’s left arm.
He won.
Once Rocky lost an arm, he was nothing but a weak, pathetic cripple. In that moment, Bobby expected to hear deafening screams mixed with sobs from Rocky...
However, instead, a chill ran down Bobby’s spine when he met Rocky’s cold eyes—as if he were the prey that had just walked into a trap.
Rocky seized that precious moment and shifted into another of Matt’s forms. His muscles bulged, his body expanded larger than ever, towering over Bobby.
He knocked Bobby down and instantly drove an accurate knee into his back. His eyes gleamed brutally as he summoned long steel stakes. With lightning-fast movement, he grabbed them and stabbed through Bobby’s limbs, pinning him to the ground.
Rocky won.
Rocky let out a long breath before tossing a pill from his pocket.
He slowly chewed and swallowed it.
Soon, a new arm began to grow back, thanks to the regeneration pill.
He glanced at his restored arm and chuckled.
’’Very good.’’
Then his attention slowly shifted to Bobby.
’’It’s a harsher battle than any I’ve been in,’’ he forced a smile.
No matter what, he had won.
His answer lay in the weakness shared by every beast in this world.
The beast’s thoughts were simple. Humans were far more complicated.
He had merely taken one step further than Bobby in planning—just one more layer ahead. And that was enough to secure his victory.
’’I should train you more on how cunning humans are.’’
