Captured By The Cold Detective (BL)-Chapter 655: He’s Dead?
Walker was a man in his sixties, with a beer belly and fading hairline. He had dull green eyes, accentuated by deep-set features typical of a western. Carrying nothing but a simple briefcase with him, he disembarked from his private plane and proceeded to enter the VIP passage. He had departed in a hurry as soon as he received the message from his protégé, whom he had once assumed dead, and by the time he arrived in China, it was already deep into the night.
Despite being accustomed to flying around the globe, the sudden and extremely long flight today still left him utterly exhausted and jet-lagged.
Instead of leaving the airport immediately, he headed toward the VIP lounge, intending to catch a short rest. Choosing an unoccupied sofa, he settled down and closed his eyes for a while. Just then, a staff member approached him.
"Good evening, Sir," she greeted with politeness. "How may I help you?"
Walker reluctantly cracked his eyes open and gave the staff a once-over. Under normal circumstances, he might have been in the mood to play around a bit, but the thought of meeting his protégé again filled him with impatience, leaving no room for distraction. After all, that omega was the most exceptional he’d ever encountered. Not only did he have an exquisite appearance, he was also level-headed, composed, and extremely charming. Walker had never seen an omega with such an unique temperament before, and it was sufficient to say that all Omegas he had met before paled in comparison.
He had mourned for his loss seven years ago, but as it turned out, fate had surprising twists in store for him. Who could have guessed that... the omega was still alive?! What marvelous news. It seemed like Lady Fortune still favored him after all!
Withdrawing his gaze, Walker sighed, weariness evident in his expression, and requested, "Can you bring me a glass of water and medicine for headache?"
"Certainly, Sir," the staff nodded before turning away.
Walker adjusted his seat to make himself more comfortable. He then powered up his phone, and was instantly bombarded by a flurry of pop-up notifications. Amidst them, there was one message from his secretary which demanded his immediate attention, as it mentioned an important deal he had coveted. Without a delay, he dialed his secretary, while the attendant returned with his request, placing them on the table before him.
Walker gestured at his phone without giving the staff a second glance, and that was why he failed to notice that the person who served him this time was different from earlier.
He swallowed the pill with a few gulps of water before speaking, "How is it going? Any word from Mr. Daniel? Two days from now? No, no, I’m telling you. The matter I’m attending right now is extremely important, and I can’t predict how long I’ll stay here..." As he spoke, he suddenly felt a little hot and took off his suit jacket. He then rose to his feet and paced back and forth as he conversed with his secretary.
"Can we reschedule? Yes, that’s right. Let him know that I..." he took a deep breath, feeling an odd tightness in his chest. How strange, why did he feel so warm all of a sudden? Cold sweat began pouring out of his skin, but his attention was drawn to the call once more as his secretary called for him. "Yes, let him know that I owe him a favor. Of course, it’s a favor from the great Mr. Walker, who could possibly decline?"
Walker chuckled, and then he had to stop because his vision abruptly spun.
Wait... why did he feel so dizzy?
Gasping, he turned to call for assistance, but his legs suddenly gave out beneath him, sending him crashing to the ground amidst the chorus of alarmed screams.
"Help, someone fainted!!"
"Where’s the staff?!"
"Sir, are you okay? Hello, Sir?!"
Walker let out a breathless wheeze, his face turning an ominous shade of blue. His ears were ringing, and the faces of the people above him appeared blurry.
What was going on with himself? Why did he collapse all of a sudden? Those questions swam ceaselessly in his mind.
In the last moment, he seemed to realize something as his head stiffly turned to the direction of the table – or most specifically the glass of water he had just taken – but before he could say anything, a powerful force dragged his consciousness into the abyss, and everything turned dark.

Meanwhile, outside the airport.
"Oh my my..." Ku Jin clicked his tongue as he observed the police cars heading toward the building before him. He had his arms crossed atop of the steering wheel as he peered out of the window, watching the sudden chaos that broke out in the airport.
"Boss wouldn’t like this. Don’t you agree?" 𝒇𝓻𝓮𝓮𝙬𝙚𝒃𝒏𝓸𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝓬𝓸𝒎
He turned to the shotgun seat where Jia Molei was seated, unconscious. A chuckle escaped his lips as though he had received an amusing answer. In the next moment, he turned on the car engine and shifted the gearstick.
"There’s no other choice, we can only proceed with plan B. Are you happy? You will be able to meet your beloved XIU soon."
With that declaration, he maneuvered out of the parking lot and left the airport behind.

"He’s dead?"
He Juan asked to confirm, and Ye Qiu responded with a firm nod. "My people have confirmed it with their own eyes. The police are heading there as we speak."
He Juan sat in the living room of the house he had recently purchased, massaging his aching temple. The lack of sleep was quickly taking a toll on him, resulting in a persistent headache. Seated across from him was Ye Qiu who had been sneaking concerned glances at him once in a while, though he pretended not to notice that.
Walking out of the kitchen, Chen Youzhi carried a metal tray with a full set meal. He placed the tray on the low table, revealing a bowl of rice, stir-fry vegetables and soup. The warm and enticing aroma wafted in the air, reminding He Juan that he had not had dinner yet.
Chen Youzhi handed him the spoon and chopsticks. "Dinner, Boss," he remarked.
Somehow, the familiar gesture brought him a wave of nostalgia. Seven years ago, when Marius’ accident had just occurred and he was too preoccupied with searching for the man to take care of himself, Chen Youzhi had also prepared his food like this and urged him to eat.
He Juan chuckled. "Aiyah, Chen’er. What would I do without you?"
He accepted the utensils and brought a spoonful of soup into his mouth, finding comfort in its warmth. Only then did he speak again, "I didn’t expect things to go down so fast, but I guess this is for the best."
"Call the reporters, the more the better," He Juan instructed. "Tell them that a huge accident has happened in the airport, and it will be sensational. But before it can get into headline news, send the information of the drug to the Violent Crime Unit. It’s even better if we can catch Ku Jin’s presence around the airport. Judging from Luo Xuan’s temperament, he would definitely order Ku Jin to go there and ensure that Mr. Walker has arrived safely. We can use the evidence against him."
Ye Qiu volunteered, "I will ask some people to keep an eye around the airport."
"Isn’t the information confidential?" Chen Youzhi also did the same. "I will personally deliver it to Officer Mu. You should take a rest here, Boss."
He Juan shot them a grateful look. "Thank you. It’s really nice having you guys around." Sensing a movement from the hallway, he turned and found Zhong Yun standing there. After staying with Chen Youzhi for a few days, his condition had improved remarkably. At least, he had cleaned up his appearance and wore decent clothes, giving He Juan a glimpse of the young man full of youthful vitality before the drug addiction destroyed it.
"Good to see you, Zhong Yun. Have you eaten?" He Juan greeted him warmly.
Zhong Yun nodded, a little sheepish. "I–I’m fine, I’ve had dinner with Mr. Chen and Miss Ye earlier. XIU, just now..." he hesitated a bit before blurting out, "Did I hear you talk about the Master Manipulator? Are you going to take action against him?"
"Yes," He Juan affirmed, causing visible agitation in Zhong Yun. "Soon, Mr. Qin’s case will be re-opened. You should prepare yourself."

A/N: in case you’re still confused, HJ’s plan is simple: orchestrated a murder and pin the blame on KJ, using Qin Zhen’s case as reference. It will also give the police a chance to re-open Qin Zhen’s case (in case you forget, last time the case is closed hastily with Cui Yan as the scapegoat. it’s ok if you forget him, he’s a small fry) and redress justice for him.
It’s not only KJ who’s a manipulator heheh
