CAT WARLOCK: This Darklord Feasts Upon Horror-Chapter 131: Slum Slopes
Mater walked beside Selina, the knight in black armor. Immediately they were getting gazes from the people standing on the streets.
However, Mater wouldn’t describe them as ’people’. They looked more like thugs. Open shirts that showed their chest. Short pants with all kinds of dirt. Their eyes were hostile when they’re looking at Selina.
It was the slum area after all. The people here weren’t exactly modest everyday citizens.
They noticed Selina and also noticed her large sword. Her walk was demanding and confident. She might look like a nut job wearing medieval armor in modern days, but it communicated to them to not touch her.
But Aurora behind was a target. Her white pale skin and long white hair. Combining that with her baby face made her look extremely harmless.
A man walked up to Aurora, "Where’re you going, pretty girl?"
Selina reached her hand out and stopped the man.
The man slowly looked up at her, "Get your hands..."
"Fuck off!" Selina cut him off.
The man grinned. He slapped Selina’s hand away and was about to throw a punch but Selina already made a fist. She punched the man and pushed him to the ground. A curve punch that came out of nowhere.
The man’s head collided with the cement ground and fainted.
Selina slowly raised her hand. Her eyes scanned the neighborhood again. Everyone looked away and didn’t dare to stare.
"Oh my shining armor!" Aurora smiled and acted all innocent behind.
Crow was watching everything from above. His crow form let out a cawing crow laugh.
"Let’s go. Lead me to the location." Selina said firmly.
Aurora nodded. Her eyes stayed fixed on the phone, "It should be two more blocks from here."
The cat, the knight, and the girl continued on their way. When they disappeared, people gathered around the man.
"What was that?!"
"That punch was diabolical!"
The group stopped in front of a small shabby house.
"According to the file, a man hung himself in this house. Some people reported that they saw a tall black figure at night standing in front of the door." Aurora said.
Selina nodded. She kicked the door down. The shabby door shot to the furthermost wall.
Mater trembled excitedly, "Oh! So violent! I like it!"
They entered the house. Mater’s Chaos Eyes scanned the place.
He quickly saw a wraith cornered itself in the room.
"Over there." The black cat meowed softly and pointed.
Selina lowered her body by a bit. She turned into a blur, bolting to the wraith while driving the sword forward.
Some crack heads were smoking on the other side of the wall. Suddenly, a big purple blade shot out of the wall. The crack heads fell down then quickly ran away from the alley.
The purple blade drew a horizontal line on the wall before being withdrawn.
In the house, the wraith fell to the floor. Its head was severed from its body.
A malicious wraith that was too low level to even pose a threat to a level 10 specter.
Selina wasn’t level 10. She could be counted as level 1 or level 2 but her power was fused with a level 10 specter. That made them a very powerful level 10 being.
If Mater was the one wearing the helmet, he’d be even stronger.
The black cat clapped its paw, "Beautiful strike, my dear! How are you feeling?"
"Bored." Selina said.
"Yes. This wraith is too weak. But there are still 13 potential wraiths left in this neighborhood. Maybe we’ll get lucky."
Mater approached the wraith and opened his mouth. He sucked out all the Chaos inside it. It was a level 1 wraith. It was just born not long ago. Only three Chaos Spheres appeared in Mater’s body.
The black cat smacked its lips, "So weak. So little. Let’s go to the next one."
The next one was in a junkyard. According to the bounties, there were around three sightings in this place. Potentially, there could be three wraiths. Or they could all be the same one.
The group arrived at the junkyard. A man wearing construction clothing stepped in front of them.
"Not a playground. Please go somewhere else." He said. He thought Selina was some delusional brat.
"ACPD. We need to investigate this place." Selina said.
"Pffft. ACP what? Don’t kid yourself, girl."
As the man finished saying, Selina grabbed his collar and lifted him high.
"Obstruction of an officer’s duty is a crime. Choose your next words carefully." Selina said calmly.
The man squirmed in the air but couldn’t get off. He sweated in fear.
"Do whatever you want! Just don’t hurt me!"
Selina dropped him and walked inside.
Mater lifted his head high and followed her.
Aurora approached the man with an apologetic look and gave him some credits. "Sorry about that. We will be quick."
Then the Glacial Wight followed the two of them.
Mater’s red eyes scanned the place. This junkyard was filled with Chaos and NES. It was the densest place he had ever seen in this world.
"We’re eating well this time." The black cat cracked its neck. "There are a lot of wraiths here. I will join you to speed up the pace."
Selina nodded.
They stopped at a big pile of trash. The black cat stepped forward and raised its front left leg. The gold watch appeared and wrapped around his thigh.
Mater was enveloped in a green color. When he was visible again, the black cat had transformed into a black jaguar with spikes on the back.
"Wait here. I’ll draw them out."
Mater curled into a ball then shot at the pile of trash. His spikes created a trail behind. The spike ball rammed into the pile of trash and continued to wreck the inside.
Quickly, wraiths rushed out from the pile. There were five wraiths, each with a different look.
They all looked similar to their human counterparts, only slight disfiguration or monstrous traits. These were weak natural wraiths, not artificial ones like Aurora.
Crow was also a natural wraith, but his death was so haunting that it made him a powerful wraith.
Selina dashed forward as he saw the wraiths. He jumped into the air then spun. The Nether Sword swung around like a vortex.
