Chapter 154: Chapter 154: Primordial Rituals

"Is that alright?" Loretta said.

Truth be told, she wasn’t that confident in her ability. She was a traditional Psychic that leaned more on mental ability so she needed someone to look out for her.

The tattooed man looked strong so he joined their team. But if Loretta had a choice, she would pick Selina for sure.

"Of course." Selina smiled gently.

The tattooed man pushed Loretta to the side and faced Selina.

"I heard about what happened, girl. Don’t think I’m as weak as the loser you slapped." The tattooed man said.

"You sure you want to do this, boy?" Selina grinned widely. She was actively trying to cause trouble.

"Damn, girl. You have become much more aggressive recently. I like it!" The black cat meowed loudly.

The tattooed man squinted his eyes but did not do anything. He backed off. "I will remember this."

Loretta sweated silently but she chose to stay with Selina.

"He’s going to hold a grudge, you know," Loretta said.

"Tiny man. He wants to make enemies just because you want to switch teams? That’s pathetic." Selina said.

The three women and the black cat went inside the living quarters of the Lambkins.

In hindsight, the building looked completely normal. But when they entered the private meditation room of the Lambkins, they had to cover their nose.

"What is that smell?" Becky felt like she could vomit at any moment.

"Human waste. The corpses of the lambkins let out all their waste when they died."

"Didn’t anyone clean up the crime scene?" Selina said.

"They tried. But the waste stuck to the room like it’s a part of the structure. See for yourself."

Loretta pulled the sliding door open. Inside was a meditation room similar to the one Mater had seen.

But there was countless filth in all corners of the room. Seven pieces of white clothes hanging from the ceiling.

"Ugh. I need to burn all of this shit." Mater was even worse since his sense of smell was much sharper.

The black cat raised its paw. A circle of fire appeared on the ground and started to burn the waste away.

Hellfire spread everywhere and burned only the filth.

"How did it do that?!" Loretta widened her eyes. "The DSI has been trying to do the same for months."

"It’s a secret." Selina said.

"Heh. This is not normal fire. It’s Hellfire. The flame that could burn even your soul. Of course it could burn the filth." Mater meowed.

The room was quickly cleaned, leaving only a smooth floor behind.

Seven ritual circles were revealed on the floor. Each was located underneath a piece of cloth.

"Those are... demonic rituals!" Becky blurted out.

This world called all rituals as demonic rituals even though it didn’t relate to demons at all.

The three women spread out to take the pictures of the rituals while Mater approached one and investigated it closer.

"This isn’t a Chaos Ritual. It looks more like a Primordial Ritual. So Daism definitely has gods or demigods behind it." The black cat stroked its whiskers.

Gods and demigods were real. He even met some in the past. They’re simply higher beings and weren’t anything special in Mater’s eyes. He believed that he could also reach the realm of godhood eventually.

"Dealing with gods might be dangerous but I don’t think there is a lot of danger in this world."

Each world was different. And this world, the world that he had picked to reincarnate into had a very strong dimensional barrier. This barrier made sure that there wouldn’t be any outer gods who could get inside.

However, it wouldn’t stop them from influencing this world or infiltrating this world slowly.

"The Red Keepers. And then Daism. These cults have signs of Outer Gods in them... There could be one explanation for that." Mater grinned widely.

Gods didn’t want money or fame. But they wanted power and worlds. The more worlds they governed, the more powerful they might be.

Mater theorized that this world was being targeted by many Outer Gods. They tried to take over this world. It was simply the reasonable thing to do.

"Unfortunately for you guys. I already set my eyes on this world. It shall be mine and no one else. I shall be its one and only Dark Lord!

MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!"

Loretta and Becky looked over to the crazy cat. It was standing up with its front legs spread wide. Its laugh was both eerie and ridiculous at the same time.

Beck sweated. "Your cat is really... Uh. Unique?"

"He really is!" Selina’s eyes lit up. "Right? Right? Right?"

Selina got into Becky’s face.

"Curb your enthusiasm, please." Becky backed off slightly. She now understood why those cat ladies were so obsessed with cats. There was a prime example in front of her.

"His laugh is so cute. And he is handsome too." Loretta smiled. She found the cat extremely endearing.

"Oh? Maybe I misjudged you, woman." The black cat’s deep voice echoed.

Becky snapped her head toward the black. "Did it just talk?"

"Nope. You’re imagining it." Selina laughed.

"It definitely talked! I want one!" Loretta said.

Black smoke exuded out of the ritual circles. Chaos in the air flowed into the circles and formed a thin layer of redness above.

"Something’s happening." Mater’s vertical pupils expanded as he went into hunting mode.

Selina pulled the Dark Grimoire out of her backpack and it flew over to Mater. The black cat jumped on top of the book.

"Get yourself ready, girls. They’re coming." Selina said.

Loretta and Becky nodded.

An invisible wave of Chaos washed over the mansion. No one could sense it except for Selina and Mater.

The wraiths spawned randomly in the mansion as the other hunters encountered them.

One wraith emerged from the floor in the meditation room. It was a naked female wraith with her skin completely rotten.

"Let us deal with this, Mater." Selina said.

"Very well." The black cat meowed.

Becky widened her eyes in response. From what she knew of Selina, all her powers focused on Mater. Becky didn’t understand why Selina didn’t want Mater to interfere.

Selina smiled at her, "Just trust me."

"It’s coming, girls!" Loretta said. A faint line shot out of her forehead and went inside the wraith’s head.

An unknown force flooded Loretta’s mind and caused her to fall down to the floor. She grabbed her head and screamed non-stop.

"Mental Link isn’t working! What about Brain Freeze?" Becky’s own Chaos Tentacles shot out and wrapped around the wraith.

Selina put one foot behind and clenched her right fist. Chaos wrapped around her feet and fists.
