Chaos In The Darkness; Salvatores's Salvation-Chapter 94: A yes, it was. - III
He gave her a grin. "I know." The naughty look and the twinkle in his eyes told her that he had something planned for the mother. "And no, we will be going out for breakfast. So do you want to get ready?"
Somehow, Evelyn felt like she should give him a fair chance in all of this. Not only the don’t try to force her to do something in the span of a week that she had been with him for, he did not try to assert his power on her even once more than necessary.
"I would love to," she gave him a nod with a small smile over her face that Salvatore returned.
It was so rare to see him smile that Evelyn could not even digest the fact whenever she saw him do that.
"Get ready then." He said as he stood up and patted her shoulder. She watched him walk up the stairs and then sipped her coffee quickly before doing the same.
She wore a nice top and jeans making the whole look casual and not trying to put much effort. Evelyn did not want to look like she was happy after poaching a don.
When she came out Evelyn found Salvatore waiting for her near the lift. Taking the extended hand towards her they both were taken down by the lift before moving outside the building and climbing inside the car.
This time instead of sitting in the back with the driver in the driver’s seat it was Salvatore there and right next to him in the passenger seat was Evelyn.
She glanced at his perfect physique whilst driving the car. One of his hands remained on the steering wheel while the other leisurely changed the gears as he maneuvered through the traffic.
The Don was dressed in an untucked shirt and jeans. Evelyn briefly glanced at his jean cladded thighs that looked strong and trained to take any man down by a single kick. As if the bulging biceps were not enough, even his hands looked strong enough to punch someone and knock them out.
That made Evelyn question something about him. Why was this done so hell bent on building himself up like a Wall of muscle? Either he was interested in physical fitness or he does not trust the people around him. Why else would he do it himself when he could have people do it for him?
"You have got a deep thinking face on," Salvatore commented and his deep voice brought Evelyn out of her thoughts and looked at him, "care to share them with me?"
Those concerns could cost her a lot since they were not in an advanced stage to share their concerns or observations. So Evelyn stuck to something that she knew won’t cause her much harm.
"You are quite perspective," she revealed, "I never expected you to know what a panic attack is and. . . stuff like that."
He flashed her a grin. "I know a lot because of Bella Rosa. It did not help that she was rebelling sometimes and when papa got wind of it," he clicked his tongue, "he made sure to expose Bella Rosa to what he was trying to protect her off."
Protect her? Evelyn scowled at that. "How was that better for her to be exposed to do something that she was to be protected from all her life?"
"Because Evelyn," his tone made it sound like he was explaining this to a child, "if you are not aware of what you are being protected against, your curiosity will only end up taking you towards it. Which it often did with Bella Rosa."
Everything looked out of the window contemplating his words. There was no denying that what he said was true.
Her father had often done that and that was until she finally decided to move away with Rome, away from her father’s house and protection seems to be exciting when she understood how disastrous could actually turn out to be.
They reached the restaurant and before Evelyn even knew it, Salvatore had got out of the driver’s seat, tossed the keys to the valet and opened the door to her side.
She gave him a small smile before walking with him inside the establishment. The waitress let them upstairs and the terrace seems to be the perfect spot for brunch. Not only was it not in the direct light, it was also decorated in light colours making it perfect for the morning breakfast.
"Here," Salvatore pulled out a chair for her that Evelyn gracefully sat in. Once Salvatore had taken his seat in front of her, the waitress handed both of them their menus before walking away.
"What would you like to have?" He did not even open his menu, rather stared at her.
Evelyn pointed to the menu while giving him a playful look. "Are you not even going to read the menu?"
He shook his head. "How about instead of looking at the menu I get you a little bit of everything? The chef would love to see everything for you."
The chef would not love to serve everything to Evelyn. What The chef would love was to kiss the Don’s ass.
She nodded. Okay then. She would love to try it.
Within a few moments there were massive amounts of food in front of them. Evelyn did not understand who misunderstood the concept of having sample food in front of them.
This was not a sample amount of food.
The entire table was filled with pastries and delights that she loved.
"Here," Evelyn looked up to find Salvatore placing something on her plate. He did not stop there but kept on placing pastries and baked delights on her plate until it was full.
"Have fun," he winked at her, making her blush all over.
Maybe this was what a healthy relationship looked like and out of all the people she knew, it was the boss of a criminal organisation that could give her one.
