Claiming My Possessive CEO Husband-Chapter 914 - : Sealed Memories
Chapter 914: Chapter 914: Sealed Memories
“Sir Hughes, don’t you think you’ve arranged for people to be on standby outside and all they need is your command to embellish and publicize this matter online and even the staff at Garye Company are aware of this. It will surely stir up a storm of public opinion. Regardless of whether this matter is true or not, as long as it causes a ruckus, Xaviera will be labeled as unfilial.”
Caleb Mamet bluntly states what Cory Hughes was thinking, his indifferent tone making the usually cool-headed Cory Hughes display a livid expression.
“Sir Hughes, this is my turf, what right do you think you have to challenge me here? Are all of you from the Hughes family this naive?”
Cory Hughes’ face turned cold, his eyes bloodshot. Was Caleb Mamet disrespecting him even though he was of a younger generation? But he couldn’t do anything to him.
A trace of impatience crossed Caleb’s eyes, seemingly repulsed to exchange even a single extra word with Cory Hughes. He turned to Xaviera and his tone grew gentle, “Xaviera, let’s go upstairs.”
Feeling outraged, Cory Hughes immediately tried to grab Xaviera but he was blocked by Sean Price who gave an insincere smile, “Sir Hughes, this is the Mamet Corporation’s office. Our CEO has the right to decide who he wants to see. If you think you’re thick-skinned enough to wait here, please feel free. However, I’m not sure if Miss Hughes wants to do the same.”
Cory Hughes glared viciously at the departing figures of Caleb Mamet and Xaviera, wishing he could tear them apart. This visit causing him not only to fail in obtaining any shares but also to be publicly ridiculed. Since he had already crossed Caleb Mamet, he could not stand idly by; he must resist.
On the other side, Caleb had ascended to his office, directing Xaviera to the inner room to rest, while he sat in his chair. His previously mild demeanor gradually obscured by a layer of darkness, emanating a strong murderous intent.
Steve Price, who was observing this, trembled in fear, unsteadily asking, “Sir, do you really need to handle those two from the Hughes family personally? Let me deal with them.”
Caleb lifted his gaze to give him a cold look, causing Steve Price to gasp. Sean Price cast him a sidelong glance. Didn’t he realize why the CEO personally got involved? The CEO was only doing this because he cared about Mrs. Mamet. He wouldn’t sit by and watch anyone bully his wife. This is his way of telling everyone Xaviera is his wife and that bullying her would mean dealing with him.
Fearing that his brother might provoke Caleb, Sean quickly intervened, “Sir, have you dealt with all of Sir Hughes’ men?”
Caleb responded curtly to which Sean Price expressed surprise, “He must have come fully prepared this time, bringing quite a few people. Yet you dealt with them so quickly?”
“Do you think those incompetent men of his are worthy of wasting my time?” Caleb disdainfully tapped his long fingers on the desk.
Cory Hughes’ men were insignificant in Caleb’s eyes. Who would dare leak this information and risk offending the CEO?
What Caleb had done was to nip the rumors in the bud, not giving anyone the chance to harm Mrs. Mamet. He would never allow such a thing to happen.
“What about that person from Garye Company?” Sean Price asked.
After considering it for a moment, Caleb replied indifferently, “This collaboration was a hard-earned opportunity by Garye Company which I graciously accepted, but they didn’t appreciate it. In that case, we’ll cancel the collaboration. Garye Company was never the best choice for us.”
Sean Price nodded, then conveyed Caleb’s orders. The CEO of the Garye Company could never have imagined that because he spoke up for a woman, their collaboration with the Mamet Corporation would be canceled. They had spent a lot of money and time to get this opportunity, and now, because of his momentary foolishness, all their previous efforts had been wasted.

Meanwhile, Xaviera was resting in the inner office. She randomly grabbed a book from the shelf, and just as she was about to sit down, she discovered an old, yellowing notebook hidden behind the books. It looked really old and seemed to be filled with stories. Suddenly, she shivered, experiencing an intense pain in her forehead, as if something was trying to force itself out of her brain.
Caleb pushed open the office door and quickly walked towards her. He bent over to ask softly, “Is something not feeling well?”
Xaviera held her forehead, her mind a whirl of chaos. Several unfamiliar images flashed through her mind, causing sharp pains in her chest. She felt like she was in a pool of cold sweat and an overwhelming sense of suffocation swept her body, causing her to break out in a cold sweat.
