Death… And Me-Chapter 4168: Truly?
*BANG, BANG, BANG, BANG...*
Roan continued to kick Aurethra’s head without mercy! Each kick made the entire Ouroboros tremble, and quite a lot of Soul Energy broke free from the Golden Veins connected to Aurethra’s body. However, Roan calculated correctly, making sure none of the Golden Veins close to him ruptured as he kept kicking!
"I told you to wake up, you piece of shit! Let’s see how long you can resist it!" Roan continued to curse as he did that.
*Bang, bang, bang, bang...*
Finally...
*Boom!*
Another blast of Soul Energy happened, but this time, it had nothing to do with the Golden Veins. Instead, it came from the Coiled Dragon, followed by an enraged voice. "Now you’ve done it, fucker!"
Roan snorted, immediately shooting backwards! He cut all the Golden Veins on his path once again, and the system kept his soul safe. Those golden veins weren’t the main ones like those connected to the dragon, after all. "I’ve done what? Woke up the ugly Cinderella? You are an eyesore! Do you have any idea how much trouble I went through to get here? And yet, what do I find? A piece of shit eating her own ass while sleeping! Hmph! I can’t take it anymore. I’m off!"
*Rumble!*
*Bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang...*
The Golden Veins connected to the Coiled Dragon began to rupture one after another, powerful bursts of Soul Energy surging everywhere!
Roan understood it the moment he got close to Aurethra. She was in charge of an amount of power higher than any other Celestial Realm Expert he had seen so far. In fact, he believed the amount of Soul Energy she was controlling was enough to kill any expert in the Werdlem Empire.
However, that power wasn’t hers. She was only the mediator, using her Recurrence innate ability to stop the dead souls from finishing their reincarnation cycle.
As a precaution, the formations of that rings structure protected Aurethra from the overdose of Soul Energy. She was the pillar that kept it all working, so it was only natural that her well-being had to be taken into consideration. Primordial Demon Beasts might not die, but they do suffer due to the enormous burden of their continued existence, like Nerithra, for example. (Chapter 4013)
If you had Aurethra control all the dead souls of the Werdlem Empire and didn’t have measures in place, she would eventually reach her limit, too. Thus, the best was to simply put her to sleep indefinitely. Only allowing her recurrence ability to stop the reincarnation process.
Still, she couldn’t be completely unconscious. For her to be in control of such a gargantuan task, some bits of order were necessary, especially in her weakened state. Roan had seen Hick, Soltrex, Nyxara, and all the others. All of them had lost their power, so why would Aurethra be different? She, too, had lost most of her power. Roan was certain that Aurethra was on the fringes of consciousness, being kept at the limit. There is no way she could control all of that soul energy otherwise.
Since that’s the case, fuck the Golden Veins! Fuck the elaborate plans! Fuck everything! Roan used the most direct, surefire method to get her out of there. Kick the hell out of her butt, causing as much pain as possible!
Her soul would be forced to wake up, and it was definitely a nice touch to curse her where it hurts! Why? Roan heard Aurethra’s story. Hick and the others said that you would feel more like talking to an old lady buying vegetables you randomly met at the market. That she was the calmest of them all...
The hell she was!
Roan didn’t believe it for even a second! Combined with the forced wake-up and all the pain caused by his Dark Element and Laws, she sure would be as grumpy as fuck! Add the curses, and he refused to believe she would be able to stay quiet. If she were still calm after everything Roan did, he would truly take his hat off to her.
’Well, seems like I won’t need to buy a hat now...’ Roan thought to himself.
The Golden Veins connected to Aurethra exploded one after another, and yet, the formations kept her safe from their soul energy power. Millions and millions of them ruptured in the next few seconds. Finally, the last one was destroyed, and the Ouroboros let go of her tail. ’Do you think you can run?! Think twice!’
Roan snorted.
’Red Death, Third Movement Form, Crimson Lightning!’
*Kabrum!*
Roan wasn’t worried he would be caught. He already created a path earlier when he got to Aurethra. He just had to reach the same path free of Golden Veins, and that’s exactly what he did.
Sure enough, a streak of red lightning shot out of the Golden Veins area. Roan was out!
Not long after...
*ROAR!*
An enormous ouroboros burst out of there as well, creating a much, much bigger hole in the Golden Veins.
Roan looked behind, his eyes showing surprise. He was moving almost at his limit, but Aurethra seemed capable of keeping up to his speed. ’The power of recurrence... She is definitely using it in some way I can’t explain. No wonder Hick and the others said she could take any role in a battle. Speed was also not out of the question. However, that’s still not enough.’
*Kabrum!*
The Crimson Lightning flowing through Roan’s body increased, and his speed went up once again. Roan made it so he would open the distance from Aurethra little by little. Enough for her to not catch him, but not enough to make the Primordial Beast give up.
The pursuit only lasted a few minutes, and then, the blasts of energy began to be felt. Roan faintly smiled. He woke her up, and it would be up to Hick and the others to calm her down.
*ROAR!*
In the location where Rean and the others were fighting, they had already taken down another two Celestials in the time Roan was gone. But then, they all stopped, looking at the enormous dragon pursuing Roan in the distance and getting closer. "Fucking hell! I told you to stop, you piece of shit! Just wait until I get to you! I’ll make you experience life and death millions of times every second! Let’s see if I don’t make you eat your own shit instead! I’ll make you understand the cycle of eating your own ass for real!"
Hick, Soltrex, and Nyxara looked at that in shock. The Ouroboros... They would never mistake Aurethra. Yet... ’That... that can’t be her, right?’ They all thought at the same time.
