Deceiving Her Ears: Ignoring Your Call-Chapter 194: That Kind of Dream
The night was as dark as ink.
Everything was silent.
Most of the lights in the neighborhood were out.
Isaac Vaughn was still downstairs.
A pack of cigarettes was almost finished.
He didn’t want to leave.
Even if he could only stay here, at least he was close to her.
He planned to stay in the car all night and leave in the morning.
But he had to leave before she went to work.
Otherwise, seeing him here might make her unhappy all day.
Thinking of this, Isaac couldn’t help but smile self-mockingly.
He reclined the seat, covered himself with his coat, and lay down. Half asleep and half awake, there was a knock on the car window.
Isaac opened his eyes and turned to look outside the car.
At the moment he saw that face clearly, he almost couldn’t believe his eyes.
His body moved before his mind, rushing to open the car door.
"Little Ear, why... why did you come down?"
Isaac was nearly at a loss, his voice hoarse and trembling.
Natalie Kendall asked him calmly, "Why are you still here? What are you doing?"
"I, I..."
Before Isaac could say anything, Natalie suddenly leaned forward, moving closer to him.
Isaac held his breath!
She sniffed around his neck and shoulders, then frowned, "How many cigarettes have you smoked?"
"Not many." Isaac lied without thinking.
Seeing her indifferent expression, he corrected himself, "Less than a pack."
He added immediately, "I won’t smoke anymore."
Natalie said nothing more, but she didn’t say she was leaving either.
Isaac looked at her face so close to him, suddenly feeling a pang of sadness.
He tentatively reached out to hold her hand, and to his surprise, she let him.
A wave of immense sorrow surged in Isaac’s heart as he held her hand tightly, afraid that if he let go, she would disappear.
"Little Ear, I was wrong, I really know I was wrong. I’m a bastard! I deserve to die! Hit me! Whatever it takes, can you forgive me?"
As he spoke, Isaac pulled Natalie’s hand to slap his own face.
Natalie let him do it, without any expression.
After a couple of slaps, Isaac wrapped his arm around her waist, pulling her into his embrace.
This was the moment he had longed and dreamed for.
No matter what, he didn’t want to let her go.
"Little Ear, honey, please forgive me, okay? Please, give me one more chance, I truly, truly know I was wrong."
He held Natalie, apologizing and repenting repeatedly, tirelessly.
Finally, he heard her voice from within his embrace, "This is the last time."
At that moment, Isaac was overwhelmed with immense joy.
He almost frantically lowered his head to kiss her lips, passionately devouring her sweet breath.
*
The cramped car space.
Molecules of chaos danced restlessly in the air.
Clothes were strewn everywhere.
Even on the floor mat.
In any case, not on them.
Isaac’s long fingers gripped that delicate, soft waist.
The pads of his fingers slightly sunk into the porcelain-white flesh.
With each breath, his breathing was disordered.
With each movement, sweat dampened his temples.
As they whispered and nuzzled, he kissed her cherry-like red earlobe, "Little Ear, you really forgave me."
He felt an urge to cry.
Natalie said nothing, only wrapped her arms around his neck, burying her face in his shoulder and breathing lightly.
"Little Ear, you really forgave me, didn’t you?"
Isaac held Natalie’s slender waist, uneasily seeking her confirmation.
Natalie, glistening with fragrant sweat, cheeks flushed, was as bewitching as a mythical being not of this world.
She placed her hands on his shoulders, her red lips curved into a smile, yet tinged with mockery.
Then, in the intense rhythm of Isaac’s anxious heartbeat, she softly uttered four words, "How could I."
——
"Whew!"
Isaac suddenly awoke, drenched in sweat.
Outside the car window.
The east was faintly glowing with the light of dawn.
The thin mist of morning.
He opened the car door and got out, gulping for air.
It was all just a spring dream.
He laughed bitterly to himself, almost to the point of tears.
Looking up, he met a pair of cold, clear eyes a few steps away.
