Depraved Hero's Path: Enslaved Monster Girl Harem In The Apocalypse!-Chapter 12: Lame Boss Monster
Chapter 12 - Lame Boss Monster
"E-Rank Boss Monster." Elijah sighed as he entered the room. "Shouldn't be too hard."
Looking around, he noticed that all the tables and other furniture had been broken and removed, freeing up as much space as possible.
"Oho."
While Elijah was standing in front of the door, the Boss Monster was on the other side of the room.
The Boss Monster was seated on an amassment of broken tables and chairs, about two meters off the ground.
"Made your little throne, huh?"
Thanks to the light coming through the windows behind the Boss Monster, Elijah could see what lay at its feet.
'The one on the left looks like a club. On the right... It's made of wood as well but-'
Elijah's thought was interrupted as the Boss Monster suddenly lowered its body, picked up its staff, and launched an attack right away.
"Fun!" Elijah muttered with shiny eyes as he jumped to the side.
The Fire Ball that had been shot his way missed.
'Magic! I know that the Wind Spirit used Magic to fly, but that doesn't really count! A Fire Ball! Real Magic! For real!'
The Goblin Chief arched its back slightly and let out a long shriek that echoed throughout the building, causing even those in the Safe Zones to flinch.

Marianne's hand twitched.
"What was that...?" She muttered, turning back towards the gymnasium she had left.
"Did you hear something?" Chloe asked.
"I think so."
"What is it?" Keith asked, noticing they had stopped walking.
Marianne stared at him with narrow eyes before walking towards Chloe and sticking to her arm.
"Goblins. Stay between us and him at all times."
"..." Keith scratched his cheek.

"Um... Please excuse her."

'Maybe I should have gotten some offensive Skills...' Elijah thought to himself as he jumped into the air, allowing the Fire Ball shot to move below him. 'He's not letting me get close! I'm getting annoyed!'
While the Goblin Chief prepared to fire another attack, Elijah quickly picked a sharp and broken piece of wood and threw it with all his strength like a javelin.
The Boss Monster, surprised by the speed at which the stake-like piece of wood traveled, was forced to use its staff to deflect.
Having moved right after throwing it, Elijah had already cut the distance.
The Goblin Chief quickly switched out the staff for the Wooden Club and raised it to defend.
Its arm muscles twitched, barely able to resist the weight of the attack.
"Tsk." Elijah clicked his tongue, having been pushed back. "With the Iron Sword, this would've been a done deal."
Having re-created some distance, the Goblin Chief moved to pick up its staff again.
'I expected a real fight. A real Boss Monster, not this boring magic-spamming bum! Ugh... Even had a tactic and all.'
Elijah sighed as the Goblin Chief aimed its staff at him again.
"Come in." Elijah ordered as he kicked a piece of wood with his foot, absolutely dejected.
The Goblin Chief's eyes widened as, suddenly, the sound of glass shattering echoed.
Before it could even turn around,
"Don't mess him up too bad."
The screeching Corrupted Harpies' upper limbs took hold of the Goblin Chief's arms, their talons digging into its skin deeply.
The Goblin Chief tried to move, and the Corrupted Harpies' lower limbs circled around his, talons embedding into its thighs.
A whimper exited the Goblin Chief's mouth as it fell to its knees, as the sound of steps got closer and closer.
"Well, what else did you expect?" Elijah muttered as he arrived in front of the Goblin Chief, held in place by the Corrupted Harpies. "Corrupted Harpies are E-Rank Monsters too, and I've killed four of them. Sure, they were heavily wounded from the start but..." He placed the knife back into his Inventory and took hold of the Goblin Chief's weapons. "From an S-Rank Difficulty Tutorial Quest to an E-Rank Difficulty Main Quest... Well, I suppose this is how the First Main Quest should be." Elijah placed the Staff into his Inventory, and held the Wooden Club inches away from the flinching Goblin Chief's head. "How many strikes before your skull cracks, do you think?"

"Taaaake this!" Marianne shouted as she lowered the Iron Sword on the enemy's head, causing its skull to split.
"..." Chloe gulped and turned in Keith's direction.
"This is much easier." He muttered with a smile, holding the Skeleton by the head and smashing it against the ground. "Goblins were much more annoying.
"..."
"The sound is almost satisfying... Crack, crack." Marianne whispered to herself. "I like Skeletons."
Chloe massaged her face for a moment, taking a deep breath in.
'I'm surrounded by psychos! What do you mean you like them?? You're cracking them like... In the first place, they look like human skeletons! Doesn't that weird you out?!'
Keith looked around before nodding.
"That's it for those outside."
Chloe debated it internally for an instant, but ended up separating from the tree she had been hiding behind.
"No blood, no guts... They're not even ugly." Marianne said as she pulled on Chloe's sleeve. "You should try it. It's actually satisfying. Much more than cracking your knuckles."
Chloe remained immobile, feeling like tears could come down her face at any moment.
'I should have stayed inside...'
"Hmm... What's up with you?" Marianne asked. "Are you worried about that guy?"
"Yeah... Sure... Let's go with that."
"What's his name, by the way?" Keith asked.
Marianne threw him a look more ominous and hateful than he had ever gotten in thirty-plus years of life.
"Don't talk to us, creep!"
"Creep?"
"What's gotten into you, Marianne?" Chloe scratched her head. "That's Keith..."
"Yeah, I heard him introduce himself. So what?"
"No, I mean... That's the football team's coach."
"Huh?"
"..."
"..."
"Oh, right. I remember you now." Marianne nodded. "That guy's name... I don't know."
"Apologize first! Look at him!" Chloe shouted, pointing at Keith who seemed so depressed that his muscles had deflated. "Apologize."
A shocked expression of realization took over Marianne's face.
"So he still is the only creep here!"
"..."
"..."
"I apologize on her behalf."
"It's alright..."
