Desire's Vessel: My Lewd Reincarnation-Chapter 54: Chaos At The Church Headquarters
After Zaja left the vault keepers quarters, a new wave of strange events hit the Ember Crown Empire. It pushed the leaders into fear and despair.
One by one, younger and older priests began falling in groups of five or ten. Chaos spread fast through the capital city of Hazzlechestnut.
The same red marks appeared on the victims skin. At first, the leaders wanted to focus on the missing Red Veil Arcane Beasts and Special Grade weapons. But when the high priests started collapsing too, they quickly changed their focus.
Soon they discovered the vault keepers condition, a heavy blow to everyone’s spirit. Now the elder council met on the roof of the church headquaters, led by The Pope, Raynold Inca.
’This is clearly the work of one of our Red Veil Arcane Beasts. Our own country is being attacked by Red Veil Arcane Beasts. What a joke...’
It was worth knowing that those who died from the attack were only elder or high priests. For others, they caused deep comas and high fevers.
"This is bad... really bad. Our very own god given creatures are now rebelling against us, but those creatures cannot be tamed, so how are they carrying out such organized attacks without getting seen..."
The situation was indeed a hand full, but just when the priests thought it could not get anymore worse...
"Huh?" a huge snake tail appeared from nowhere. The tail used its muscular sides to wrap around several high priests in their white pristine garments, due to the sheer force of the strain, several of the high priest’s necks broke and their bones crushed.
Panic expolded like fire. The remaining priests called blazing swords and slashed at the snakes hide. Behind them, the rest chanted spells, summoning fire elements that poured streams of flame onto the snakes body.
The Pope closed his eyes, he tapped his chest over and over, whispering an incantation. The next moment, several floating golden torches appeared above the church. They burst into a blinding light across the platform.
"Skkkkkkkssss!!!" amazingly, the snake thrashed widly as if the flames irritated it a great deal.
Pope Raynold Inca did not stop there, he streched out his right arm and snapped his fingers loudly. A pair of burning golden lion jaws formed on his left and right. They rushed at the snake and exploded near it.
Several elder or high priests took damage from the explosion and burned to ashes. Raynold immediately froze upon seeing that he had indirectly caused the death of his men. He broke away from the group as he saw the rest of the priests charging towards him with glowing knives.
"Traitors! It was an accident... what the hell is wrong with you?!" furious, Raynold clapped his hands together and waves of boiling golden lava rolled out sweeping through the attackers and burning them.
"Pope Raynold Inca, how many times must I remind you that Red Veil Arcane Beasts are uncontrollable to us but a messenger for someone, one with divine blessing? Raynold you never cared about our gods honor. You were a traitor before you ever wore the white and gold holy robes. So what’s wrong with ending you?" another elder priest stepped forward and faced The Pope with a hateful sneer.
The next second golden flames burned the priest’s eyes and Raynold realized his people were probably being controlled. But the burning question was how?
A quick look showed that the affected priests were some of the stongest believers in the faith.
As his mind spun from the recent events. A huge blaze of red fire formed at the top of the church. It turned into twisting pillars that rose into the sky. The next instant, a hooded figure appeared behind Raynold, dressed in a red claok.
Without even turning, Raynold used his strongest spell and in a swirl of golden fire, seven giant flame skeletons appeared around the figure and they swung battle axes at him from every side.
The figure was way faster than that and it sent hot claws piercing the Pope’s back and set his inside on fire. At the same moment, a massive dragon like python fell from above. It cut through the skeleton’s axes with one tail swing.
"Hugh!" the Pope’s skin turned red. Blood ran from his mouth. Raynold tried to push away from Zaja’s dragon claws. Zaja held tight, keeping his claws on his spine.
After what seemed like a minute, The Pope reeled back and his eyes glazed over as he tried not to loose consciousness.
"It’s you? After taking our Red Veil Arcane Beasts and treasures, you still attack us and burn our main church? Why? How... have we wronged you in any way?!" seeing Zaja’s robes and red flames on his claws, Raynold spoke carefully.
"Theres just one tiny thing I need to verify. Over a decade ago, you used a ritual on the surviving soldiers of the Last Wall. Right?"
"Correct"
"Was there was man who had a scar on the left side of his lip?" Zaja asked in a flat voice that gave no hint of his feelings.
"The one who walked into into a death match with one of my soldiers? Yes... of course. He stood out, why do you ask?"
"I suppose, because he was my father," Zaja said softly and calmly. Then he closed his fist and released his two divine flames.
"Wait wait!! It wasn’t mee! Aaaaarrrrggghhh!!" The Pope barely started speaking when Zaja’s divine flames burst out, burning Raynold bit by bit.
But worried he might miss important information, Zaja stopped the flames. He kept his hold on Raynolds spine.
"What do you mean?"
"Where do you think I learned the ritual? From the Blackfield Gorge! Don’t know why, but Lady Xena Apotheosis wanted me to sacrifice your father," Raynold Inca said quickly. The news hit Zaja’s mind like a storm.
Zaja’s grip on The Pope’s back loosened. Feeling the chance, The Pope spun around fast. He smashed his fist into Zaja’s jaw and his foot into Zaja’s side.

"What’s taking him so long?" Lady Elyria stood on the edge of the capital city of Ember Crown Empire, Hazzlechestnut, staring at the distant cluster of statues and church buildings that made up the country’s main base.
Several summoning seals circled around her. They let Zaja leave the city quickly or call in help when needed. At first Elyria was sure Zaja’s plan would go well. But as the set time passed and minutes dragged on, she grew nervous. She worried that something unexpected had happened to her dear dear sugar boy.
"tssss" Naga hissed standing close by, growling at Elyria. Red flames and blood dripped from its mouth.
"What? didn’t Zaja tell you your change isn’t finsihed yet and you need to rest? Because you’re his familiar, Helios gave you a gift to become a near dragon. This is a one in a lifetime chance. don’t ruin it with your useless anger."
Elyria and Naga seemed to understand each other and argue back and forth. Meanwhile, Hillary sat a short distance away. She used a Special Grade modulator Zaja had given her to make her meditation faster. The noble woman stayed as far from Elyria as possible. Inside, she hoped Naga would loose control and bite Elyria’s head clean off.
"I don’t hate you for that old event! I hate you because you got away too easily! Zaja was fooled by your mature charm, thick ass and big titties. That the only reason he didn’t hang you! Just make sure you treat him well, or the first thing I will do after my change is finished is tear you apart," Naga snapped. Both Hillary and Elyria’s eyes went wide with shock.
"You... can speak?" they asked at the same time. Naga realied that, for the first time, it had used human words instead of just hissess and growls.
But before the it could understand this new ability, its face tightened and in a burst of red flames, it vanished.
"What was that?" Hillary scratched her head, completely confused.
The bad feeling that had kept Elyria alert grew stronger. She looked at the summoning seals and cursed herself for not being able to use them without Zaja.
"Something is definitely wrong. Naga was with Zaja at the start. Why did he send it out, and why is it rushing back now? Don’t you think that’s odd? Zaja should have been here a long time ago," Hillary said in a quiet, shaking voice that marched the fear on her face.
"Guard the summoning circles. I will go see what’s happening," Elyria said. Without waiting for Hillary’s okay, the matriarch turned into orange flames and sped into the distance.
As soon as Elyria left, Hillary’s worried face changed to an evil smile.
"It would be great if at least she lost her head. But you have to stay safe, my dear Zaja, because from now on, my whole future depends on you," Hillary said with a long sigh. She lowered her head and prayed for Zaja’s safety and Elyria’s death.
