Divine Emperor of Death-Chapter 2666: Concern
After making it their designated quarters for the duration of the return to the Aurora Cloud Gate's headquarters, Davis and the others made themselves comfortable, relaxing on the sofa or dining table while some went to their own rooms.
While Natalya was pestering Tanya for more information about her inheritance and the others were talking about what went on as they needed to hear the full sequence of what led to this sudden war, Davis excused himself and went into a room. While sharing information, Tanya and Natalya saw Ellia sneaking into Davis's room.
"..."
They looked at each other and knowingly smiled but didn't say anything.
Ellia closed the door and turned to look at Davis seated on a sofa, smiling at her with a strange gaze. However, it wasn't lewd, and neither was it flirtatious. In fact, it seemed to be a victorious smile.
"What do you say now, Ellia? Do you think your mother hates me when she even let me enter her intimate range and let me go scot-free without a word of beration?"
Ellia possessed a complicated gaze as she walked toward him.
"You're good with words. My mother naturally doesn't hate you, but she doesn't love you either."
"So you're telling me that I took advantage of her kindness?"
"Who said that?"
Davis raised his brows, causing Ellia to pout, not knowing what to say. That scene did seem like Myria made a special exception for him because he was speaking to her about her grandchild. She knew what they conversed because she asked him on the way. That was so sneaky of him, but regardless... she sighed as she thought about her words spoken to him after that wonderful event.
Two bare naked individuals were cuddling each other, with the man on the bed and the woman on top of him, keeping her face by his side as she repeatedly kept giving him adorable kisses on his cheek.
Her pouted lips repeatedly pressed against the roughness of his cheek, leaving behind lots of love and the sound of kissing echoing in their ears, gradually causing the man to chuckle as he heaved a pleasurable sigh and turned to kiss her lips.
They exchanged their love for each other with slow passion before smiling at each other, taking some rest as the woman decided to lie on him and place her head on his chest, listening to his heart pound with delight.
Such intimate warmth left her feeling euphoric beyond compare, especially while his fingers brushed through her silky black hair, making her feel good and incredibly comfortable.
They were none other than Davis and Ellia.
"My prince..."
After a while, Ellia suddenly lifted her face and looked at him.
"What do you have in mind, my little Ellia?" Davis still brushed her hair, seemingly addicted to the feeling.
Ellia became slightly hesitant, her eyes darting around before she finally appeared like she had made a decision.
"Do you like... mother?"
Davis didn't give much of a reaction as his lips moved, "No."
"..."
Ellia frowned, blinking as she looked away. However, she thought that if that was the case, then that was good.
"I want to love her." However, she suddenly heard him speak again, causing her to shoot an astonished look at him.
"..." Her reaction appeared like her fears had come true.
She sat up from him, revealing her wonderful peaks that instantly attracted his gaze. However, she folded her knees and sat on her legs, kowtowing to him.
"My prince, I'll get you any woman you want to the best of my ability but please... not my mother."
Davis raised his brows at this sudden formality.
"Why?"
"Because... mother doesn't... she doesn't..."
"You want her to be alone all her life?"
"No, obviously not." Ellia shook her head with her eyes wide, "In fact, if there ever came a man I approve of for mother, it would undoubtedly be you, my only love. But... mother doesn't like these things, and there's the thing about the Eternal Soul Physique that might cause her powers to dissipate upon having her primal yin taken."
Her expression became difficult, "I don't want her to be put between a rock and a hard place, just as she found something a person like you to trust. I... don't want to see our current relationship be destroyed..."
Davis looked at Ellia's countenance and heaved a light breath, his hand reaching out to her cheek as he gently stroked her.
"I understand. You tried so hard to come to my side by convincing your mother that I won't make a move on her, right? That I'm different than any other man she would see in her life?"
Ellia's eyes widened, and his warm touch made her feel understood and resonated, causing her to purse her lips and nod.
"Yes, so for her to trust you now is a huge thing. As far as I know, the only person she ever trusted after her downfall as the Divine Saintess was herself."
"Why?" Davis squinted his eyes, "What happened before that?"
He was immensely curious about Myria's past, but she only revealed bits and pieces, essentially what they needed to know, and not the story that made her who she was. If he thought of it, he knew nothing about her life in the first place.
However, Ellia sighed and shook her head.
"I don't know. Mother locked those personal memories behind a sealing technique quickly after she took over my- err, her body. Perhaps, those were her dearest as well as the most nightmarish memories of her life, not wanting to show it to me."
"Ah, that's why you are able to remain carefree and cheerful, unlike her."
Davis made a face as though he understood, causing Ellia to smile.
"I think so, but that is precisely why I don't want mother to go back to her reclusive self again. She is slightly able to smile now, but if you expect too much from her... I fear she will simply leave."
"..."
Davis took back his hand and looked away, appearing to give some thought. Ellia looked at his expression while possessing a confused countenance. She couldn't help but grab his hand that left her cheek.
"But, do you really want mother? She does as she pleases and wouldn't listen to anyone, perhaps even you. That's not a woman you would like, no?"
