Divine Emperor of Death-Chapter 2675: Return To The Sect
After everything had settled down and the flying boat carrying the disciples of the Aurora Cloud Gate was making it back to the headquarters, Davis sat in his room alone.
His lips were wide, unable to stop grinning as his senses explored the spatial ring, doing a count of the contribution points he was going to possess.
Just a while ago, some disciple contacted the Aurora Cloud Gate and spread the information of the increased difficulty of the Mercurial Blitz Ice Valley's mission, and the Aurora Cloud Gate promptly confirmed it with him, Myria, Tanya, Rea Tyriel, and a few other true disciples before making changes to the mission rewards.
The reward rate remained the same for Level Two Immortal King Unfettered Ice Fiends, with two thousand contribution points per carcass. However, the reward rate for Level Three Immortal King Unfettered Ice Fiends had been reduced to five thousand contribution points per carcass.
On the other hand, the carcasses of Level Four Immortal King Unfettered Ice Fiends were exchanged for twenty-five thousand contribution points each.
Such a change infuriated the lower pool of disciples, who teamed up but still didn't get much of a chance to kill these higher-level Unfettered Ice Fiends, while those Unfettered Ice Fiends on the lower level were farmed by the powerful true disciples as well.
They were left with almost nothing, but their prowess was like that as well, unable to deal with even the basic Level Two Immortal King Unfettered Ice Fiend. Therefore, they couldn't complain at all.
But such things weren't a concern to the true disciples who had raked in many carcasses of the Unfettered Ice Fiends, and the one to come out of it with a massive wealth was not the first or second ranked disciples but one of the last ranked disciple, named Davis Alstreim, titled the Emperor of Death!
"Hehe~"
Davis cockily grinned as he saw the number of carcasses in his spatial ring pile up into a mountain.
He mused that were around 300,000,000 contribution points worth of Immortal King Unfettered Ice Fiend carcasses! That was absolutely a huge sum that would drop numerous jaws without a doubt.
However, this could in no way happen without Tanya's help!
Indeed, almost all the carcasses that were lost in the icy wind vent were actually recovered by Tanya's control over the region and whether these carcasses were sliced into pieces or not didn't matter as they could be differentiated by the experts.
Tanya had secretly retrieved these carcasses. While a few of the corpses were gulped by the spacequake, she practically owned the Mercurial Blitz Ice Valley and was able to teleport any non-living thing inside it to her inheritance palace, which also meant that they could collect ice-attributed treasures that were missed during the expedition as long as they weren't restricted by something.
However, they didn't go far. If one knew how to reap, one must know how to sow. Otherwise, the region would become desolate without spirituality. In other words, suffer from a lack of heaven and earth energy and would no longer give birth to treasures.
Such a thing must be avoided. Besides, they didn't have time to collect those treasures, so they just left.
Still, he knew some of these carcasses had hints of attacks by other auras. Therefore, he was not planning to use this chance to rake in more contribution points greedily but gain reputation and trust among the sect.
Besides, even if he decided to claim that all of it was his loot, then even the reward distributors would look down on him as the auras would be plainly clear to sense unless he used his death energy to mask those injuries, in which case, everyone would be able to tell that he was just cheating as the disciples knew he didn't kill every Unfettered Ice Fiend there.
Even if he got the rewards, they would brand him as a bandit, and it would sell like immortal crystals as he was a Divergent.
That's why, with Tanya collecting the lost carcasses and him distributing them to their rightful owners, he was sure that it was the most optimal course of action, not to mention that he would be able to make many disciples grateful to him except the innately ungrateful ones.
However, the rewards didn't end there.
Despite raking in so many millions of contribution points, he knew that he would not be able to reach the first rank as there were two people who raked in more contribution points than him.
Just as he thought about them, a sense of pride couldn't help but swell in his heart.
Taking a deep breath, he laid down on the bed and started recovering his soul force as he rested his psyche in his sleep.
But he wasn't able to descend into sleep quickly as his soul sea was now occupied by a few more soul essences that kept him awake because he knew they would pave his path to Immortal King Soul Stage already!
The soul essence of one Level Two Immortal King, two Level Three Immortal King, and one Level Four Immortal King Unfettered Ice Fiends… all these wouldn't help him much other than gain a single level in his Soul Forging Cultivation from his calculations but the soul essence of the Level Five Immortal King Unfettered Gargantuan Ice Fiend…
That was another story altogether, allowing him to step into Immortal King Stage this quickly!
However, Davis was hesitant about making the step into the Immortal King Stage this soon as one must know that it was less than a few years since he had stepped into the Immortal Stage. He couldn't help but wonder if such a speed would cause problems later on.
Nonetheless, with so many contribution points that were soon going to be his and his family's, he started wondering in which direction he should take them all and improve their cultivation path. After all, when resources grew, their choices also grew. They didn't have to settle for anything less than what they could gain to improve themselves better.
*Creek~*
As he was thinking without sleeping, he heard the door squeak slightly, causing his brows to twitch. His eyes were still closed. There was no sound of footsteps. However, he could sense two auras moving closer to him. Within a few seconds, a burst of warmth covered his body as he felt two plushy peaks push against him from both sides while two heads were on each of his chests, snuggling in his embrace.
Davis couldn't help but chuckle lightly. They were all resting in their own rooms for the remainder of the return journey, but some still couldn't help but want to use that time to spend with him.
Adjusting himself into a comfortable position and embracing Natalya and Tanya in his arms, he thought of nothing and began to sleep peacefully.
Soon, they arrived at the sect.
Davis and the others were slightly more refreshed as they exited the flying boat, but upon exit, his brows narrowed as he turned to look at Patriarch Klavius Zenflame and Patriarch Rocksunder in the distance, causing his eyes to squint in annoyance.
He also sensed immense pressure from the old people behind them.
'Immortal Emperors…'
Did they finally come for Isabella and Shirley in full force, or were they here for someone else?
Thinking like this, he turned to look at Flamerose, who was alone on the side with worry.
