Divine Heritage: Only I Can Judge The gods-Chapter 68: Finally, a New Skill!
Ark stared at the screen, a slight smile appearing on his face.
His mind went back to the fight with whatever it was that possessed Silver. He actually did use dragon strike a number of times, so much that he could not even remember how many.
He almost jumped in excitement.
Normally, it would have taken him far longer to achieve the same result since he had to damage his arms in order to unleash the move.
Although he was training on how to reduce the intensity of the blast, he had checked while training with her.
Lower intensity strikes either didn’t count or rather, they counted for far lesser points.
’That reminds me...’
"Silver?"
Ark called out, he waited for a short time before he heard a voice from behind him.
"I’m surprised you’re on your two feet..."
Arm immediately turned around. Sitting by the corner of his bed, swinging her legs around, was just the person he wanted to see.
Her silver hair was flowing freely at her back and her eyes were back to normal, regaining their reflective silver colour.
"Your ’friend’ did a number on me but I’m not that weak."
She stifled a laugh.
"I’m happy you made it though. She barely knows restraint and yet, you even seem to have impressed her, a terrible mistake on your path...’
Ark’s face contorted in shock.
"Don’t tell me I’m going to have another one of those ’tests?!’"
Silver waved her hands dismissively, "No no, not anytime soon at least. Well, I’m busy right now, I’ll see you later."
And then she vanished into thin air.
Satisfied that Silver was doing perfectly well, Ark once again focused on the screen.
He thought about using the ability and information about it suddenly began to flood his head until he had received enough knowledge about its use.
He stretched his hand forward as small almost transparent energy began to float out of his fingertips, making a sharp fizzing sound.
’I guess that explains the whispering part."
Ark looked around his room, going to find something to test it with when he saw an empty can of soda at the side of the room.
He quickly picked up the can and placed it on the open window to avoid breaking anything and walked a few feet back. He took a deep breath.
Whoosh!
Just as Ark swung his hands forward, the energy flew out of his hands and charged straight at the can.
The invisible force went past it and out the window, but the can remained perfectly erect as though nothing had happened.
’Did I miss?’
Although his aim was poor, Ark was sure the slash had hit the can and yet nothing happened.
He summoned another wave on his fingertips, ready to try again when the can collapsed, completely severed into five different pieces.

At breakfast, most people seemed rather concerned about him which Ark considered weird, since they had only known each other for a bit over three weeks.
No one cared about how healthy or unhealthy you were back in the slums, so it was a new feeling for him. 𝚏𝐫𝚎𝗲𝕨𝐞𝐛𝕟𝚘𝐯𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝗺
The only one who didn’t seem to care was Luke, who left the table at the sight of him, as though Ark’s face would spoil his meal.
After breakfast, Thalia called them up to her office. The room was very large and decorated quite nicely, there was a single couch at the corner of the room with a blanket placed atop it, indicating that someone had been doing something other than working.
’How lazy...’
At the end of the room was Thalia’s desk along with a large chair black rolling chair that she was currently spinning in.
Her secretary, Natasha was standing next to her looking exasperated and trying to grab onto the chair.
When they approached Thalia, she finally brought the chair to a halt and stared at the two of them.
"How can I help you?"
Ark let out a tired sigh.
"You were the one who called us!"
"Oh..." There was a slight pause. "Why did I call you?"
"It’s about Ark’s equipment." Natasha cut in.
"Oh yeah. Ark, do you have any armour-type artifacts?"
Ark shook his head.
"I see..." She reached into her drawer and pulled out a black card. "Kiera, can I bother you to help him pick one out? Anything between Rank 1 and Rank 2 is fine."
Artifacts were ranked based on the rank of apocalypse beasts the artifact was obtained from, or in the case of crafted artifacts, the rank of the beast the parts were sourced from.
Beasts were ranked:
Immoral, Profane, Malevolent, Unholy and Blasphemous, starting from lowest to highest.
And as such Artifacts were ranked, Rank 1 to Rank 5 accordingly. With Rank 1 being Profane and Rank 5 being Blasphemous, the rarest kinds of artifacts.
Kiera nodded and took the card before they both left the room.
After a short preparation, Ark got into Kiera’s sedan and they were about to leave when someone knocked on the window.
They turned to meet a pair of emerald green eyes. Kiera rolled down the window and Emma peeked her head into the car.
"I hear you are going artifact hunting! Thalia said I should tag along and get one as well."
Kiera didn’t open the door immediately, instead, she stared at Emma for a short while.
Ark had no idea what was going through her head at that moment but then the doors made the familiar clacking sound as Kiera unlocked them.
"No arrows in the car."
Emma frowned slightly.
"What if—"
"No... arrows."
Emma’s hands fell at her sides and she turned away from the car. Blue sparks surrounded her and that majestic longbow appeared in her hands, along with a quiver.
She drew the bowstring taut and pointed the weapon at the shy.
Whoosh!
A strong wind rushed past her as she let go of the arrow, the force of the release was more than enough to leave Ark surprised.
’How strong do you have to be to pull that bow?’
Emma let out a satisfied sigh.
"Had to let one loose at least, you know what I mean?"
Kiera shook her head.
"No, I don’t know what you mean."
"Of course I don’t expect a mage to understand." She said, feeling around the door for a second before finally grabbing the handle and pulling it open.
The drive to the store was uneventful, and soon they arrived at the place. After entering the building, Ark was met with a rather surprising sight.
’What did I even expect? That an artifact store would look like a boutique?’
That was indeed the mental picture he had but it was completely destroyed the moment he entered the building.
The interior of the store was more like a medieval armoury than a modern-day store. Tons of shiny swords were hanging on racks out in the open, dull sets of knight-like body armour on mannequins and a section filled with various books, rings and even potions.
Ark paused for a moment, taking in the scene when he felt a tug on his shirt.
"Do they have the good stuff?" Emma asked, staring in front of them.
"They sure have a lot of stuff, but we’ll see."
A short man with pitch black hair and black eyes walked up to them. He had a nice face with sharp features and on his neck, a black mark running down into his shirt.
Although he was a little petite had a pretty solid build, signs of hours of pounding away at a metal sheet.
He was a curse bearer, most definitely a craftsman.
It made sense since only curse bearers could possess artifacts.
He greeted them with a smile and offered his hand.
"Good morning, I am Daryl. What can I get for you today?"
Ark took his hand in his.
"I’m Ark and this is Kiera and Emma." Both nodded in greeting.
"Let us see your best quality armour, nothing less than Rank 2." Kiera said as she walked forward.
The man’s face brightened up, a devilish grin appearing on his lips as he motioned forward, directing them to the darker parts of the shop.
"Right this way please."
