Divine Heritage: Only I Can Judge The gods-Chapter 91: Conundrum
’What is going on?’
Kiera stared at the skeleton with her eyebrows knitted together. The skeleton then brought its bony head to its head, as though trying to scratch hair that it didn’t have.
The gesture was far too human.
By its side, the original Ark stood still, his eyes glazed. 𝑓𝑟ℯ𝘦𝓌𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝑐ℴ𝓂
Still holding her sword, Kiera stepped forward. The Skeleton seemed wary but other than that it did nothing but watch her carefully.
Kiera walked up to the original Ark and shook his body violently.
"Wake up Ark!"
Ark stared at her, a slight frown appearing on his face as he knocked her fingers off his body, and then he frowned and stared ahead.
And then he began walking forward.
Kiera turned to the skeleton and it shrugged as if it was confused as well.
"This is..."
Kiera had no words to describe what was going on. Her mind was completely blank which was weird since she often had a theory or two, this situation was far too unique.
Seeing no other option, Kiera dismissed her sword and pushed the skeleton forward as they both hurried to catch up with Human Ark.
Human Ark went past the military officials without saying as much as a single word to them, even when some stepped up to him, he simply walked past them as though they were invisible.
Many people tried to shoot down the skeleton when they saw it, some were panicked while others had shocked expressions on their faces that only intensified when Kiera told them to leave it alone.
She had no excuses to give and frankly didn’t care what they thought so she just went onwards.
He continued onward weaving his way around the camp, for a moment, Kiera believed he was directionless.
Ark just seemed to walk in circles, not really making any good progress, it was only after closely observing him that she realized he was searching for something.
Occasionally he would stop and sniff the air slightly before changing direction, and finally, they arrived at his destination.
It was their military carrier—
"What are you doing here?"
The Skeleton shrugged and Kiera frowned, staring down at its smooth white head.
She had destroyed many of such creatures in the past, it would be no different if she found out it was responsible for Ark’s state.
But if it was really Ark... then she had no idea what she would do.
Human Ark pushed the door open followed closely by Kiera and allegedly skeleton Ark.
Just as he stepped into the room, Elise immediately got up and rushed over to him, grabbing onto his shoulders.
"My goodness, you look awful. I heard what happened from Kiera, it’s great to see you’re fine.
Emma turned in their direction and frowned, her eyes narrowing as though she could see.
"Kiera... why do you have a dead beast with you?"
’What does she mean by dead?’
It was only then that everyone noticed Kiera— and the Skeleton beside her.
There was a loud screen from somewhere in the vehicle, Kiera turned to see that it was one of the girls they had rescued.
The three of them were seated at the edge of the vehicle and one of them was currently frantically pointing at Bony Ark.
Bony Ark scratched his head with one finger and waved.
He must have not seemed very friendly because the girl fainted.
Thalia quirked up a brow as she watched the two of them, her gaze was questioning and yet she just sighed and went back to staring at the map before her.
Luke’s gaze was locked on the Skeleton, it seemed even he was wary about the little devil.
"Ark?" Elise called out
Human Ark walked past her as though she was not even there and walked over to where Thalia was seated.
Strangely, he stared at her for a moment, before sitting on her lap—
Everyone stared at him in shock as he made himself comfortable, before reaching forward for the bag of chips in front of her...
Ark picked it up, popped the bag open and took a large handful of chips.
Thalia watched him for a moment before sighing.
Unable to continue ignoring what was happening, she stared at the only person who could explain the situation.
"Kiera..." She paused.
"I hope you have a very good explanation for this..."

Everyone was huddled around a small white Skeleton, watching it with curious gazes. Among the girls they had rescued, only Faye was bold enough to come close to the creature, and even she stood a safe distance away.
Strangely, the Skeleton looked rather shy with all the attention it was receiving and bowed its head slightly.
It then turned to face Kiera as though she was its only hope, and then its shoulders slumped when it realized that no help was coming from her end.
Thalia gave the skeleton’s skull a good whack, causing it to cutely place its bony hand on its head as though it was in pain.
"You’re saying this is Ark?!" Thalia asked, her voice rising slightly.
It seemed even she with her wealth of experience was confused about what was happening.
"I never said that. This thing is posing as Ark, I still think we should cut it down."
The skeleton visibly shook and shifted a little farther away from Kiera, inching closer to Emma instead.
Emma grabbed its round head and pulled it closer to her chest allowing its round skull to push against her bosom. "We can’t kill him, he looks so cute, it will be a waste."
"Should we ask Vivian?" Elise asked.
Thalia shook her head slightly.
"She’s attending to the injured soldiers and I doubt Vee has any idea what is going on here."
Thalia then turned to the human Ark who was staring at them from her desk. That version of Ark seemed to have some level of self awareness and yet its intelligence was lacking.
Currently, he had a frown on his face as he stared at the empty bag of chips in front of him.
Kiera sighed.
"So we kill it?"
The Skeleton shook its head.
"Or do we wait a little?"
The skeleton nodded vigorously, and then it rose a single bony finger up.
Faye laughed heartily.
"Look at that, the little shit wants to contribute."
It seemed Faye wasn’t very fond of monsters...
The skeleton turned to her, visibly offended and then Something unexpected happened...
Human Ark got up from his seat and walked to where the girl was, he raised his hands high up in the air and smacked the girl right at the back of the head.
"Ouch!"
Ark just turned back and returned to his seat, leaving everyone stunned once again.
