With his sharp sight, Damion could vaguely see Kenzo in the distance splitting the dying Wyvern’s body with his claws and teeth.

Nyx was still embedded in the Wyvern’s body, and he was slowly killing it, manipulating Damion’s Mana to pierce through its protective layers and do the needful.

This was proving to be a hard task. Nyx had to kill it before Kenzo did, or their interference would have been for nothing. Luckily, Nyx knew what to do, and in no time...

A smile crept up Damion’s face as he read through his status. He had leveled up twice, meaning that he had received over 3,000 Exp, quite much for a Lower Rank creature.

His smile suddenly faded when his danger sense blared warnings in his psyche, and he looked up... Kenzo was approaching him at a terrifying speed.

Damion panicked.

Nyx wasn’t with him, and his Mana was drained to a dangerous level. He hadn’t recovered from his fight with Kenzo completely, but another opponent, much stronger than Kenzo, was after his life.

"F**k!" He cursed, his gaze setting on Kenzo dangerously, and his aura beginning to unfold.

[Dragon’s Authority has been activated]

There was a delay in the skills’ activation for some reason, but the moment they activated, Damion’s aura exploded with power, spilling over the surrounding 70 meters and pressuring everything within.

Damion’s shadow vanished, entering into his body through his pores. The whites of his eyes turned pitch black, and a cold, black flame lit up around it, though his purple eyes glowed through the black, giving it a more sinister look.

Small tears appeared in his skin, and through those tears, a black fog began to pour out of it, some even pouring out of his mouth and nostril with every breath.

The movements of Kenzo slowed a little, but that was it... a little, even with this power up.

Nyx had already begun to return to Damion’s side, so Damion knew what had to be done.

He kicked the rock he stood on, sending a web of cracks snaking through it as he shot back like a bullet, his body blurring through the jungle and landing on soft soil.

He didn’t linger for a second more and blasted off again, making the soil beneath explode on contact with his feet.

He was moving so fast even he would have had a hard time tracking himself when in his normal form. Yet, Kenzo was keeping up the pace a little too easily.

This went on for three more seconds, and Damion noticed something. "He still hasn’t met up," he whispered.

With the speed at which Kenzo was closing in, he should have crossed Damion by now, and a fierce battle would have ensued.

"That’s because of your Dragon’s Authority!" Nyx suddenly said after reading Damion’s mind. "Teleport close to him and make sure he’s within your Dragon’s Authority range for the next ten seconds, that’ll be enough for you to control him."

Damion slowed down immediately and activated Shadow Walk with the little Mana he had left, reappearing in the shadow of a tree not too far from Kenzo, but not too close either.

A pained roar escaped Kenzo’s mouth and he faltered, his speed plummeting and his efficiency dropping.

Damion smiled, it was working. However, before he could even stop to celebrate his easy victory, Kenzo’s red eyes flashed towards him, and he bolted forward, chasing Damion down with renewed speed.

Damion disappeared again, and Kenzo bit at nothing but air, crashing on the ground gracelessly.

He growled as he stood to his feets, his red eyes glowing with a malevolent light.

Damion reappeared a few meters away, his eyes locked onto Kenzo. He could see the fury burning within those red orbs, and he knew he had to end this fight quickly.

’Nyx, what’s going on?’ Damion asked, his voice filled with urgency. ’Why isn’t it working?’

’It’s not that it isn’t working, Damion,’ Nyx replied, his voice calm. ’It’s just that Kenzo’s willpower is too strong. He’s resisting the effects of Dragon’s Authority, and it’s taking longer than expected to take hold.’

Damion gritted his teeth. He didn’t have time for this. Captain Shodan could appear at any time, and seeing him in this form would bring up many questions.

Kenzo lunged at him again, his actions more ferocious than before and carrying a killing intent in it.

Damion timed his movements and dodged, barely saving himself from a brutal strike to his head.

Shadow Walk was used again, and he reappeared behind Kenzo. At the same time, Nyx landed in Damion’s hand, and he received a boost to his confidence to carry out his next task.

"Just one more use of Shadow Walk, and I’ll run out of Mana," Damion muttered.

Nyx morphed into a large War Hammer, with a head twice Damion’s body size. Though heavy, it was perfect for Damion’s next actions.

"His Battle IQ isn’t very good in this enraged state," Damion muttered, a sly grin creeping up his face as he calculated.

Kenzo charged in without any thoughts again, swiping at Damion with all intents to kill. Unfortunately, though having superior speed and strength, his berserk state became his undoing.

Damion reappeared right by his side after using Shadow Walk again, and with all the power he could muster, he raised the hammer and brought it down as hard as he could, pounding Kenzo’s head into the ground with the force of a wrecking ball.

The vortex of purple flames that wrapped around the hammer head right before impact made for a deadly combo.

The earth shook in response to this brutality, dust kicking up, rocks bouncing off the ground and the fauna parting as the shockwave rolled over them.

There was a moment of silence, before a sickening crack followed the flopping of Kenzo’s body, and he dropped to the ground, losing his consciousness.
