Ensnaring his Dark Moon-Chapter 364: That wench died
As a father, how could his heart not break when he saw her walking into a dangerous realm he had no control over? But if he held her back forcefully, tied her wings and imposed his protection upon her, what kind of father would he be?
Elder Hall sighed, ’’Then the artifact...’’
’’Did you believe that there is an artifact that can refine Esme’s divine powers?’’ Rezeph’s question made Elder Hall grow quiet.
Earlier, he was too lost dazed by the chaos in the sea court to notice that.
Rezeph continued speaking, ’’The deities were powerful beings from birth. Neither did they have impure powers nor were they born weak, what would they need such an artifact for?"
’’Then...’’
’’Uninvited guests have been stepping in my kingdom and people think that I would not discover.’’
Elder Hall understood the hidden meaning behind the words. That night, Marilyn’s arrival had been noticed by the King as well. And when they set out to look into it, they had witnessed the events that had transpired in the forest.
’’Prince Aleister had sent his men to heaven. Lord Atlas must have made arrangements.’’
Elder Hall’s question was yet to be answered. He had yet to know the reason why the four young people had to go to a place of no return. He had a vague idea in his heart but he could not put a finger on it. But despite the heaviness in his heart, he did not question the King further knowing that the truth would come to light when the time was right.
...
"Ahhhhh!" Pain slithered through Marilyn’s body as the divine chains clasped her limbs in a death grip.
She could feel the sensation of hellfire coursing through her veins, tormenting her body. But no matter how it tormented her, it did not harm her in the slightest. Such were the arrangements that Atlas made just for her to suffer endlessly.
She had painstakingly removed some of the chains around her when she had sent a mirage of hers to meet Cardan, but the moment her body regained its consciousness, she found Atlas standing in front of her.
And it did not take her long to realize that she was caught.
In the past few weeks, the man had visited her a few times, something that made her heart bloom even though the sole purpose of his visit was to see her being tormented.
And today happened to be another day of his visit.
’’Is death so enticing?" Atlas’s cold words made Marilyn look up.
The intense pain in her body had tears streaming down her cheeks. Her eyes were bloodied and her lips were cracked as her mouth parted, ’’When did I ever seek to live a life that kept me away from you?" a bitter smile crept her mouth, ’’When did I ever desire a life that you were not a part of?" she whispered.
’’It has been years. I never intended bind in this marriage. Before Cardan’s birth, and even after his birth, I always offered you freedom.’’
’’Freedom?" Marilyn chuckled, ’’I would rather engulf myself in your chains, even if it means my doom,’’ the expressions on her face gradually softened when she looked at the man standing there, in all his glory. The reminiscence of their first meeting where he seemed just that tall and broad, protecting her from the hellfire came flooding back into her mind.
’’When I offered you freedom, you did not choose it. Now you want death, but I will not offer it,’’ Atlas looked at the woman indifferently, ’’Death is a relief for you after what you did to Adeline and Aleister,’’ his tone seemed to be laced with icicles, stabbing Marilyn where it hurt the most.
Marilyn growled like a caged beast as pain coursed through her body, seemingly engulfing her heart in a burning fire. Whether it happened because of the divine chains or his words, one did not know but her eyes burned in hatred, ’’That bitch. She deserved to rot in hell. I sent her where she belonged.’’
Atlas’s eyes narrowed.
’’Oh... Hell? No, she cannot even go there. She cannot even exist with the demons,’’ Marilyn laughed at the sudden realization, ’’You went against the heavenly laws to make her reborn when I killed her in her previous life. So, this time, her soul disintegrated into nothingness. You will never find her. You will never meet her again. She died. The wench...ahhhh...’’
Heart wrenching screams reverberated in the prison cell following Atlas’s departure as the pain on Marilyn’s body intensified by leaps and bounds.
The moment she got a chance to breathe, she hung her head low, breathing heavily, ’’So much hatred. Do you hate me that much?" she looked in the direction the man had departed in.
Even when he put her in the prison, he did not come to meet her, treating her as something insignificant, but two weeks ago when she regained her consciousness, she did find him standing there in front of her.
All she could see was the hatred in his eyes but even that made her heart smile. If he cannot love her, then his hate belonged to her.
She wanted to consume his mind just as dominated over her existence.
And he had come..
’’He had come...’’ Marilyn mumbled incomprehensibly, her brows tugging together, ’’He had come to the dungeon...’’ In rage and fury.
But why?
Why all of a sudden?
Was it because he was suspicious of her movements or did someone tell him about her actions?
She had heard that he was in a closed door cultivation then why would he bother to visit her? 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝓮𝒘𝙚𝙗𝒏𝙤𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝒐𝙢
Unless....
Marilyn’s eyes darkened but before she could ponder over it for another moment, another scream escaped her mouth as the chains around her limbs tormented her.
The had saved her younger self from the cave of hellfire which led her to fall for him. And today, ironically, the man was using hellfire to inflict agony on her.
