Chapter 152: Chapter 152: Escape

Chloe smiled and stroked his head: "Is one mom not enough? You still want lots of moms."

Julian pulled her hand and led her into the study, pressing a button on the wall.

The landscape painting on the wall slid open to both sides.

Just as Chloe was puzzled about when an extra hidden compartment had been added, she saw the wall covered with photos.

Seeing these pictures, Chloe’s breath caught.

The whole wall was filled with pictures of Sienna Paxton from five years ago, and right at the center, she saw a photo of herself.

Below the photos of both people, there was a detailed comparison of Sienna Paxton and Chloe’s living habits.

Chloe’s afraid of dogs, Sienna Paxton’s afraid of dogs.

Chloe has thalassemia, Sienna Paxton has thalassemia.

Chloe’s allergic to pollen, Sienna Paxton’s allergic to pollen.

Chloe can’t handle spicy food, Sienna Paxton can’t handle spicy food.

Chloe can swim, Sienna Paxton can swim.

When Chloe saw that last line, she was completely stunned.

How did Silas know she could swim?

Was he pretending to fall into the pool last time, just trying to test if she could swim?

So, she had already exposed herself that day.

Silas wasn’t unconscious from the fever at all; not only did he see her swimming, he even heard her call him "big brother."

The thought of this possibility made Chloe stumble backward in fright.

She finally collapsed onto a chair.

So Silas had known all along she was Sienna Paxton, and the fake Sienna Paxton was just a pawn. 𝒻𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝘯𝘰𝑣ℯ𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝘮

The purpose was to make her slip up.

Whether it was confessing to Sienna Paxton in public, or grilling Claire Channing in front of her, all of it was to make her admit, in her own words, that she was Sienna Paxton.

This Silas Prescott was like a wolf lying in wait, patiently waiting for his prey to fall into the trap he’d set.

Thinking about all this, Chloe felt like she was in mortal danger.

Now, everything about her was probably under Silas’s control.

She immediately got up and started searching the house: under the coffee table, inside the flowerpot, on the nightstand.

Chloe found several bugging devices.

She turned pale with fright, instantly collapsing onto the sofa.

It was like she was back to those suffocating days five years ago when she could barely breathe.

Maybe, ever since Silas found out she was Sienna Paxton, she’d been under his surveillance.

So, all this time, whether she was with Jett Sterling or handling visa paperwork with her parents, she’d felt like there were eyes constantly watching her.

Turns out it wasn’t just her imagination.

It was Silas Prescott who’s been keeping close watch on her every move.

He didn’t go to work at the company, not to be with the fake Sienna Paxton, but to tail her all day long.

Realizing this, Chloe’s hands shook uncontrollably with fear.

Julian saw her like that and quickly grabbed her hand: "Mommy, what’s wrong?"

Chloe tried her best to hide her emotions; she didn’t dare say any secrets, knowing there were bugs everywhere.

She could only force down her panic, stroke Julian’s head and say, "Mommy’s okay, just feeling a little tired from cooking. I’ll be fine after a bit of rest."

Julian immediately trotted off to the kitchen and poured her a glass of water: "Mommy, drink some water."

Chloe took several sips in a row, but even the cold water couldn’t settle her nerves.

She stood up and said, "Come on, let’s go eat. After we eat, let’s go visit Grandpa and Grandma, okay?"

Julian clapped his little hands: "Okay, okay!"

After the two of them finished dinner, Chloe rummaged through her bag and didn’t find any bugs.

She was a little puzzled.

How did Silas always know exactly where she went?

Suddenly, her gaze landed on the watch around her wrist—the one Julian had given her.

But this smart watch was a new product from Silas’s company, so it would be far too easy to install a tracker inside.

She quickly took off the watch and stuffed it into a drawer.

After going downstairs, making sure to dodge Silas’s surveillance, Chloe hugged Julian and said, "Julian, don’t let Daddy know we discovered the secret in his study, or he’ll lock Mommy up and won’t let me leave."

Hearing her say that, Julian quickly hugged her neck to comfort her: "Don’t be scared, Mommy, Julian will protect you."

Seeing him so sensible made Chloe’s heart ache.

Everything had come to this; it was time for her to leave.

She gently stroked Julian’s head: "Julian, remember this: Mommy will always love you. Whether I’m with you or not, you’re the one I love most. If you ever find Mommy gone one day, don’t cry, eat well, grow up fast. When you’re grown up, you’ll be able to see Mommy. Okay?"

As she finished saying these words, tears rolled down Chloe’s cheeks uncontrollably.

Her greatest worry was Julian. If anything happened to him, she’d never forgive herself.

Julian seemed to understand her; his chubby hands gently wiped the tears from her face.

"Julian loves Mommy most, too. I’ll grow up fast and protect Mommy."

The two of them clung tightly to one another.

Chloe didn’t go back to her own home—she was afraid there’d be bugs there too.

She called Mr. and Mrs. Nash over to Caden Sinclair’s place.

When he heard all this, Caden slammed his hand on the table, furious: "That bastard Silas Prescott—he dares to treat you like this? I’m going to find that jerk right now and beat him up!"

Chloe quickly grabbed his arm and shook her head at him: "Don’t make a scene. Julian’s still outside; if he hears, it’ll be bad."

Caden finally sat down. "Anyway, Uncle and Aunt’s visas are approved. We stick to our plan. I’ll book the flight—ASAP."

Chloe looked worried: "I’m afraid Silas will chase us. Back then, every time I tried to escape, he caught me."

Seeing her so anxious, Jett Sterling quickly said, "We’ll split up. Caden will take your parents out, and I’ll use my private jet to get you to Meridia. After a while, when Silas stops looking for you, you can reunite with your folks."

Everyone hashed out a detailed plan according to the current situation.

There was still one day until departure. Chloe took Julian out shopping for clothes, and also went to the amusement park with Lucy Rhodes.

She also played several games of chess with Old Master Prescott.

By the time she left the Prescott Family home, she couldn’t hold back anymore.

She was wiping her tears while driving.

Silently, in her heart, she repeated: Julian, Mommy’s leaving. Please be good.

The next day.

Chloe went with her parents as usual to complete the boarding formalities, and just before the plane took off, she found an excuse to leave.

Standing at the airport, head lifted and watching the plane take off, Chloe whispered in her heart: Mom, Dad, hope you arrive safe and sound.

She immediately followed Jett Sterling’s instructions and boarded a private jet.

Jett handed her the stuff: "I’ve hidden your whereabouts; Silas can’t possibly track you. I’ve arranged for people to look after your parents too—they’ll be fine. To keep Silas off your trail, I won’t go with you."

"If Silas finds out you helped me, he’ll definitely go after you."

Jett chuckled lightly: "I’m not afraid of him. Hurry up and board—the crew knows to look after you."

The whole plan was flawless.

Chloe got on the private jet Jett had arranged for her, just as she’d hoped.

The plane took off smoothly.

As long as she landed safely, she’d finally escape Silas Prescott’s grasp.
