Entangled in the Night: Unable to Escape Him-Chapter 172: Annie Is Kidnapped
Teacher: "Wasn’t it you who just picked her up? And even bought her a cotton candy."
When the teacher finished saying this, she looked at Sienna’s clothes and her eyes widened in disbelief.
Julian’s mother wasn’t wearing that outfit just now.
It had only been less than five minutes—she couldn’t possibly have changed clothes that fast.
The teacher turned pale with fear. "So that wasn’t you just now? But she looked so much like you."
Hearing this, Sienna’s heart contracted sharply.
A terrible feeling surged up inside her.
With the Prescott Group in the middle of a power struggle, it was very possible Julian Prescott had been kidnapped.
Sienna grabbed the teacher’s collar, her voice trembling: "What car did he get into? Did you see it?"
The teacher stammered, "It—it was a white Mercedes, I think it drove off in that direction."
"How long ago did it leave?"
"Less than five minutes."
Sienna ran toward the direction of the car like a madwoman, muttering over and over in her heart.
"Julian, don’t be scared, Mommy is coming to save you."
She knew for sure that Julian Prescott had been kidnapped.
He had just started getting better; if he was traumatized again, he might never recover in his life.
The thought of that possibility made Sienna tremble all over.
She forced herself into the car, slammed the accelerator, and sped off in the direction Julian Prescott had disappeared.
It was rush hour now; she couldn’t drive fast at all.
But she believed the kidnappers’ car couldn’t have gone far yet.
She called Silas as she was stopped at a red light.
Silas, who was in a meeting, saw her name on the caller ID, took his phone, and went out onto the balcony to answer.
"Sienna, are you missing me?"
He was waiting to hear her gentle, soothing voice, but instead, he heard a trembling one.
With a hint of tears.
"Brother Silas, Julian is missing."
At that moment, the warmth on Silas’s face vanished, replaced by tension.
"How could he be missing?"
"The teacher said someone who looked just like me took him away. Brother Silas, Julian has probably been kidnapped."
Hearing this, Silas felt as if his breath stopped altogether.
He fully understood the gravity of Julian Prescott being abducted.
He’d been kidnapped as a child himself, so when he heard his own son had been kidnapped, Silas’s hands turned ice-cold.
His fingertips trembled too, but he did his best to steady himself.
"Sienna, where are you now?"
"I’m chasing that car, but there’s a terrible traffic jam."
"Sienna, don’t panic. I’ll come right now. Listen—don’t do anything rash. Wait for me, I’m on my way."
"But Julian will be terrified. I’m so scared his illness will flare up, and it’ll never be cured again."
The thought of Julian’s condition relapsing after just starting to heal made Sienna’s tears slide uncontrollably down her cheeks.
Clutching his phone, Silas rushed outside, barking out orders as he ran: "Owen, Julian Prescott’s been kidnapped, bring the team and come with me!"
Everyone in the conference room was dumbstruck with shock at the news.
They had never seen their CEO so rattled.
In their eyes, Silas was always the unflappable one, calm and steady no matter what happened.
Even with major crises in the group, he could keep his composure.
But now, he had panicked.
The tension in his eyes was impossible to ignore.
Owen immediately gathered everyone, and followed Silas to the car, which sped out like a bolt of lightning.
Sitting in the back seat, Silas pulled out his laptop to track Julian’s watch GPS signal.
When he saw the signal stopped at the school gate, he clenched his fist in anger.
Clearly, the other side knew about the tracker and took the watch off early, tossing it away.
He didn’t even know the license plate—only the car model. How could he possibly track them?
Just then, Sienna’s voice came again through the phone: "Brother Silas, I see the car—it’s right in front of me."
Silas immediately tensed: "Sienna, follow them quietly, don’t let the kidnappers notice. I’m coming to you right now."
Luckily, Sienna wore a custom bracelet with a tracker inside.
He could locate her.
Sienna couldn’t care about anything else now. She stomped on the gas, running the red light.
She sped after the car.
Inside, Julian saw Sienna’s car chasing after them, and repeatedly pounded on the window, screaming hoarsely: "Mommy, save me!"
After school, when he saw his mom picking him up with cotton candy, he was beyond thrilled.
He took the cotton candy and ate it while walking.
But just as he was about to get in the car, he sensed something was wrong.
His mother’s scent was different, and the look in her eyes was frightening.
Julian tried to find an excuse to get out, but the kidnapper forced him down in the car and drove away.
Seeing Julian, Sienna was overwhelmed with tension.
She shouted at the car, "Julian, don’t be afraid! Mommy’s coming to save you!"
Sienna, who usually never drove over sixty, was now tearing up the road like a sports car.
The two cars sped down the expressway, side by side.
Julian was both terrified and carsick.
Crying, he kept hitting the kidnapper: "Let me out! I want my mommy! You’re evil! I’ll have the police arrest you!"
At this point, Stella didn’t bother to pretend anymore.
She ripped off her human-mask, revealing a twisted, ferocious face.
She slapped Julian fiercely in the face, grinding her teeth: "Little bastard, aren’t you just crazy about that bitch Sienna? I’ll send both you and her to hell today, and then no one will ever compete with me for Brother Silas again!"
Julian was so furious hearing this that he bit Stella’s arm hard.
Stella screamed in pain, pounding on Julian’s head: "Let go, or I’ll break all your teeth!"
She grabbed Julian by the neck, choking him until he had no air, then he finally let go.
Blood on his lips, tears streaking his face.
"Daddy belongs to Mommy, you bad woman can’t take him from her."
Stella scoffed coldly: "By the time your daddy finds you, you two will be blown to ashes—how can he be together with your mommy then? You better behave, or I’ll strangle you right now."
Julian was terrified, but he knew he had to keep quiet and not anger her now.
Otherwise, he wouldn’t live to see his parents come to rescue him.
He shrank into a ball, shivering as he watched Sienna desperately chasing behind them.
Silently he prayed, "Daddy, Mommy, come save me soon. I don’t want to be apart from you."
He had just learned how to talk, his parents had just made up, and they had barely started being happy together as a family. He couldn’t lose it all now.
Thinking this, Julian calmed down a lot.
He believed Daddy and Mommy would definitely come to save him.
The car reached the docks, and Stella dragged Julian out.
Their accomplices were already waiting there.
She ordered coldly, "Get this little bastard onto the boat."
The men in black were about to take Julian on board when they heard Sienna shout, "Stella Sterling! I’m the one you want. Let Julian go, I’ll go with you."
Stella watched her stumble over.
She laughed wildly: "Sienna, you’d go to such lengths for this little bastard? Don’t forget, that’s Silas’s child with another woman! He keeps calling you his true love, but he still had a child with someone else—clearly, you’re not as special as you think."
Sienna’s face was pale as she watched the struggling Julian.
She knew Julian must be terrified; if he was taken away, things would go from bad to worse.
She needed to buy time, waiting for Silas to come save them.
Sienna swallowed nervously, her voice full of panic: "Stella, you want Silas? I’ll give him to you, but give Julian back to me. I’ll take him and stay far away from Silas."
Stella sneered, "Do you think I’m an idiot? You disappeared for five years, Silas looked for you for five years, but you took his son and left. Do you really think he’ll ever give up? Only if you both die will he belong to me alone.
Sienna, if it weren’t for you, my mother wouldn’t have gone to prison. I wouldn’t have fallen from the Sterling family princess to a nobody. It’s all your fault—I’ll make you pay double today! Tie her up, and get her on the boat too!"
Sienna rushed to Julian’s side, hugged him tightly, and said, "Take me, but tie us together."
"Fine, you can go meet the King of Hell together."
Stella ordered the men in black to take Sienna and Julian onto the boat and tie them up together.
Finally reunited with his mom, Julian cried even harder.
Yet he forced himself to stay brave and comfort Sienna, "Mommy, don’t be scared. Julian will protect you."
Hearing him, Sienna’s heart ached.
She kissed Julian’s cheek, leaned close to his ear and whispered, "Julian, don’t be afraid. Daddy will come save us."
Stella had thrown away Julian’s watch; only by staying with him could Silas use the tracker to find them.
She saw Julian’s face was shockingly pale, his lips starting to turn purple.
His body trembled constantly. Sienna knew—he was right on the edge of a relapse.
He was holding on with every ounce of his willpower.
Sienna quickly kissed his forehead, soothing him: "Julian, how about Mommy sings for you?"
With tear-filled eyes, Julian looked up at her: "Mommy, are we really going to die, never see Daddy again?"
"No, Daddy will come to save us. Just close your eyes, don’t think of anything, and let Mommy sing, okay?"
"Okay."
Julian obediently closed his eyes, though his teeth still chattered uncontrollably.
The boat was already far from shore; he didn’t know if Daddy would find them.
He didn’t want to die so soon; he hadn’t had a chance to be happy with Mommy and Daddy yet.
While he was tense, Sienna’s gentle singing came to his ears.
"The dark night sky hangs low, bright stars keep me company. Fireflies fly, fireflies fly, whom are you missing..."
The familiar song instantly calmed Julian’s nerves.
There was something about the lyrics—it sounded so familiar, as if he’d heard it countless times in his dreams.
Sienna kept singing, her thoughts drifting to the son she’d lost on the battlefield.
Back then, it was her negligence that cost her baby—barely a month old—his life. This time, she would never let anything happen to Julian.
She’d give her life to protect him if she had to.
Seeing Sienna cry, Julian started to cry too.
The little one forced himself to be strong: "Mommy, don’t worry, Julian will be fine. I still have to wait for my little sister to be born with Mommy and Daddy."
Sienna, drenched in tears, managed a little smile at that.
Thank goodness she’d caught up with Julian—thank goodness she was there when he needed her most.
Otherwise, she wouldn’t know how he could face this alone.
She kissed Julian’s cheek and gently soothed him: "When we get home, Mommy will give you a little sister, okay?"
Their conversation was overheard by Stella Sterling, who couldn’t help but sneer: "Sienna, you must not know—up ahead is international waters. Once I kill you here, no one can touch me.
You think you’ll have a baby with Brother Silas in your next life. From now on, he’ll be mine, and mine alone."
Stella laughed with arrogant triumph.
Only by getting rid of Sienna and Julian could Silas belong to her.
She brought them to international waters to take care of things; Silas would never find them, no one would ever know what happened.
As for Damien, that fool, she would kick him out sooner or later.
The only one who could be Prescott Group’s CEO was Silas. How could her man end up as someone else’s prisoner?
Once she used the Sterling family’s connections to help Silas, she’d win his heart.
Thinking of such a bright future, Stella’s smile only widened, even more triumphant.
Seeing her so pleased, Sienna gave a faint, mocking laugh.
"Stella, who would’ve thought the mighty Sterling heiress would end up as someone else’s pawn? Damien’s using the two of us to get at Silas. He’s not helping you at all—he’s destroying you.
If Silas sees us die right in front of him, do you think he’ll just keep living? He’ll lose his mind and take revenge for us.
Stella, if you let us go now, I can persuade Silas to spare you—after all, you’re just following Damien’s orders."
Silas’s illness was caused by his childhood abduction. Sienna worried that facing this again would push him over the edge—and he’d do something insane.
Hearing this, Stella snorted. "The moment I planned the kidnapping, I passed the point of no return. Don’t worry, Silas won’t find this place. I’ve cut off every possible means of tracking."
But as soon as she finished, someone reported, "Miss Sterling, there’s a speedboat about to catch up with us—it seems to be Silas’s people."
Stella stared at Sienna in disbelief. "Impossible! I threw away Julian’s watch and your phone! How did he track us?"
Sienna just laughed softly. "Maybe it’s because we’re connected at heart."
Stella gritted her teeth, snarling, "Since he’s here, I’ll let him watch you die in front of him—he won’t get a chance to take you away."
If she couldn’t have him, then she’d destroy everything.
She would never let Sienna return to Silas’s side again.
