Exiled Prince: I'm the Unexpected Extra in the Novel-Chapter 184: The Crimson Night [12]
The War for The North [71]
Chapter 184: The Crimson Night [12]
Cassian took one last look at the massive crater he had opened. After making sure the old hybrid was completely erased from existence, he tensed his muscles to launch himself into the sky to support his main target, Cryomara.
But right at that moment, massive shadows darkening the sky crashed down upon him. He was surrounded by a giant pack of dragons with brutality dripping from their scales.
Cassian let out an exhausted, deep sigh and pinched the bridge of his nose with his bloody fingers.
He glanced at the system window out of the corner of his eye. The [Crimson Night] death toll had already exceeded 300,000, and the numbers kept rolling endlessly.
Preventing the death of civilians was already impossible. Cassian was especially aware that hundreds of innocent people had died by his own hands in the massive area attacks he unleashed just to survive.
The true nightmare of the war had not even fully begun yet. The Archangel still had not shown his true face, Veviron was spreading terror in the sky like a god of the apocalypse, and there were dozens of absurd dangers hiding on the battlefield just like the old hybrid he had killed moments ago.
Taking advantage of Cassian’s distraction, the dragons roared and prepared to attack.
Before the dragons could make the first move, Cassian shot forward. The first dragon to attack died before it could even understand what happened. When the dragons spewed hellfire from the sky trying to turn him to ash, colossal ice spears shot out from underground like bullets, freezing and shattering the flames in midair.
With a maneuver at the speed of light, Cassian got right up to the chest of one of the dragons. He pressed his fist hard against the giant creature’s thick scaly chest. A blunt, sickening sound of tearing flesh echoed. In seconds, a massive hole was blown from the dragon’s chest straight through to its back, and the creature’s internal organs blasted out from behind in a disgusting explosion of blood.
The other dragons were stunned for a moment in the face of this incomprehensible physical strength. This brief hesitation became their end. The black Chaos Flames erupting from Cassian’s body reared up toward the sky to swallow them alive. The dragons tried to suppress these dark flames using their own mana with all their might.
But when Cassian violently brought his two palms together and clasped them in the air, the balance of nature was turned upside down. A violent vortex of wind gathered around the dragons and suddenly collapsed inward. The massive creatures were crushed inside that invisible wind prison until their bones cracked, unable to move.
At the same time, a blinding surge of lightning erupted from Cassian’s body toward the sky. He literally subjected the wind trapped dragons to a rain of lightning. Their massive scaly bodies were riddled with holes and began falling to the ground in flames.
Right then, a massive, clawed hand with a different aura swung at Cassian from behind.
Cassian calmly stopped that colossal hand in the air with a single hand just before it reached him.
This dragon was different from the rest. Its body was covered in blue, crystallized protrusions. The horns on its head curled like a royal crown, and fierce currents of lightning constantly flowed through its entire body. It clearly possessed noble blood.
But in Cassian’s eyes, it was just a pile of meat.
Cassian savagely pulled the clawed hand he was holding toward himself and swung his sword with his other hand, severing the massive arm from its torso in a single strike. As the dragon roared in pain, Cassian leaped and grabbed its crown like horned head. Spinning rapidly on his own axis, he swung the giant creature in the air and slammed it down to the earth with terrifying force.
As the earth shook like a cradle, Cassian descended from the sky like a meteor and stomped hard on the dragon’s ribcage with both feet. As a last hope, the dragon had created a thick barrier of blue lightning over its chest. However, the Chaos Flames erupting from Cassian’s feet pierced through that barrier effortlessly, like tearing paper. His feet shattered the dragon’s ribs and went straight down to its heart.
The other dragons angrily dive bombed to protect this "noble" dragon that had crashed to the ground.
Cassian didn’t even look at them. The Absolute Severance rippling outward from his body sliced the incoming dragons into dozens of asymmetrical pieces in midair, turning them into a bloody rain of flesh.
Crushed beneath him, the horned dragon with shattered ribs coughed up blood and called out to Cassian in panic and sheer terror:
"If... if you kill me, my father will..."
Its sentence could not be finished. The kick Cassian delivered to its face by sliding his foot completely pulverized the dragon’s crowned head and buried it into the dirt.
While flicking the blood off his foot, Cassian coldly muttered to the decapitated corpse:
"All I have to do is kill your father too... Then there won’t be a problem, right?"
The silence of the corpse confirmed Cassian’s ruthless logic.
Out of the corner of his eye, Cassian looked at the giant centipede wandering among the ruins ahead. He had expected his allies to handle it, but the creature was causing far more trouble than he thought, laying waste to the surroundings.
He raised his right hand toward the massive, disgusting monster. Right in front of his palm, a pitch black, tiny black hole appeared. Absorbing the light and air around it, this hole first grew larger, then suddenly shrank to become a single dense point. The next second, that dense point shot forward like a death beam.
Reducing the buildings, rubble, and air in its path to nothingness, this dark beam smoothly sliced the creature in half the moment it reached the giant centipede. When the bisected body of the monster continued to thrash around disgustingly, Cassian flicked his finger upward slightly. Massive, absolute zero ice spikes erupting from underground skewered both halves of the bug toward the sky, finishing it off for good.
However, launching such massively destructive attacks had suddenly drawn all the attention on the battlefield to Cassian. Hundreds of enemy soldiers and countless deadly spells hovering in the air began swarming toward him in a colossal wave.
Cassian tilted his head slightly to the side. The darkness in his eyes grew bottomless.
He created another massive Black Hole in front of him. The fireballs, holy spears, wind blades, and cursed blood arrows raining down on him... All of them were pulled into this pitch black gateway and swallowed. The battlefield was plunged into absolute silence for a moment. As the enemies tried to understand where their spells had disappeared, Cassian opened his arms wide.
The black hole vomited back all the energy it had absorbed. But this time, what came out were not ordinary spells. The black hole had transformed every single attack it swallowed into pure Chaos.
Shooting back as a pitch black, deadly wave, this chaos tsunami crashed down on the hundreds of enemies rushing toward him. It instantly reduced every soldier, vampire, and elf it touched to nothingness before they even had a chance to scream. All of them evaporated in literally one second.
It only took him a few seconds to clean up the remaining minor nuisances.
A vampire who leaped into the air to bring down a massive blood hammer on him was skewered in midair by a stream of ice erupting from its chest before it could even land.
The last few remaining dragons were torn to shreds by consecutive waves of Absolute Severance before they could even get close to Cassian, spilling to the ground as a rain of blood.
Just as he was about to start walking, pale, dead hands burst from beneath the earth to grab his ankles. Cassian didn’t even bother looking down. Swinging his sword horizontally, he smoothly cut those hands off at the wrists. When a muffled cry of agony rose from underground, Cassian plunged his black sword into the dirt. The Chaos radiating from the tip of the sword scorched the hidden enemies underground, burying them in silence.
There wasn’t a single living thing left around him that could pose a threat. That sector of the battlefield had turned into an absolute graveyard created by Cassian.
He took a deep breath. The muscles in his back tensed as if tearing, and his massive, dark dragon wings opened wide with a loud boom. When he bent his knees slightly and gathered power from the earth, the ground beneath him collapsed, forming a massive crater.
Cassian shot toward the sky with an explosion that tore through the sound barrier.
As he pierced through the clouds, the air around him grew heavier, and breathing became difficult. The smell of ozone and the pressure of pure mana burned his skin. While that chaotic lake of blood on the earth shrank below, Cassian finally reached above the clouds, the arena of the two ancient mystical beasts.
Before him stood that epic battle splitting the sky in all its glory. Veviron’s lightning and Cryomara’s freezing breath clashed as if they were going to bring about the end of the world.
Gripping his sword tightly, Cassian dove into the battle of these colossal titans like a dark comet.
