Extra And MC-Chapter 132 - 128 - Beach & A Couple’s Conversation II
(A few seconds before Aiden and Caroline had arrived…)
-Thwap!
Watching as Beatrice barely dug another serve out of the golden sand, Ivelia cheered a bit as Ivar leaped into the air to perform a powerful spike shot!
Adrian, Amelia and Lucas who were on the other side of the net, swiftly got into position to receive the shot and send it back over in double-quick time.
Almost immediately as they did, Bryan who was with the other two, the Crown Princess and Ivar, promptly blocked the shot and sent it colliding straight into the beach sand before they could get to it.
Giving another cheer, Beatrice who was wearing a pale-blue knotted shirt that revealed her belly-button along with wide grey short pants, grinned happily at Ivelia while showing her a peace sign as her fiery red hair fluttered in the gentle breeze.
"Wait, aren’t you supposed to be cheering for us Flynn?" Adrian scowled at the youth who just had a mischievous smile playing on his lips as he rested his head on Ivelia’s laps.
Asides from Flynn’s necklace whose aquamarine ore was shining in the late-morning sun and Lucas who wore a tank top, the rest of the boys only had their beach shorts on their being, Amelia wearing a cover-up white swimsuit.
Without even answering him, Flynn passed the solved Rubik’s cube in his hands back to Ivelia who then promptly, began to scatter it for him again.
They had been doing this for over a while now so when Adrian saw it happen again, he just gave up on trying to get to Flynn and instead, decided to focus on the match he was playing.
Watching as they soon started another round, Ivelia returned the scattered Rubik’s cube to Flynn, and then asked him with a bit of curiosity.
"So, who do you think is going to win hon?"
"Adrian’s team" Flynn replied casually, his hands moving at a rapid pace as he tried to solve the cube in a few moves short of thirty-four this time.
"Interesting…" Ivelia muttered, a bit curious as to how that would play out considering Beatrice’s team was leading by seven whole points in a game of eleven while Adrian’s team was stuck at three points.
"Volleyball is a pretty unpredictable game most of the time, but once a team gets the flow or momentum going, it’s usually hard to top it" Flynn began to explain and then continued.
"Although Adrian’s team isn’t in the flow right now, they’ve been slowly ramping up as opposed to Beatrice’s team who’re pretty much just taking it easy and enjoying the game instead. Luck has also been on their side so far so there’s that…"
Watching as her future husband explained something he probably shouldn’t have even had any knowledge of normally, Ivelia couldn’t help but just warmly smile at him as he kept fiddling with the cube without even looking at the game.
’I so much adore him when he’s like this…’ she thought to herself.
"Ah! Thirty moves this time!" he suddenly declared with a small grin while passing over the cube once again to Ivelia.
Instead of retrieving the cube this time though, Flynn soon tilted his head which was rested on her laps upwards just a bit to see Ivelia smiling at him in an adoring manner as she gently spoke.
"This state of mind suits you a lot dear…"
"Far more than when you have other heavier things swirling in your head" she tenderly added while gently placing her hands on his silvery-green hair.
Normally Flynn would’ve instantly responded to a statement like that from her but right now, as he kept staring into her uniquely beautiful eyes, he couldn’t help but feel like she knew more than she let on regarding the things that had been going on his life.
"You know…" she slowly spoke again as she casually began to stroke his hair.
"I’ve known you for more than two years now Flynn, so I definitely know the type of person I’ve fallen in love with"
"I understand very much that there are very important things that both you and Aiden need to do a lot of the time, and I also understand that they’ll always land you in pretty dangerous scenarios…" Ivelia continued speaking as she gazed into her partner’s aquamarine green eyes.
"I won’t stop you from doing them because I believe it’s necessary to you both that you need to do it"
"But what I will say though is that when you’re tired, weak, or just need someone to make you feel better. Make you feel strong again. We’ll always be here for you…’
’I, will always be here for you, ready to receive you into my loving arms. No matter what" Ivelia completed her heartfelt speech with an even more tender smile as she kept gazing lovingly at the youth whose head was gently nestled atop her laps.
Flynn, unable to even get a single word in due to the way Ivelia structured her speech, along with the strong hint of deep understanding and acceptance that was present in her loving eyes, couldn’t help but have his face go red as a surge of swelling emotions of love for the beautiful lady gazing at him washed over him.
As if trying to hide his embarrassment from the way his face currently was, a rare state even he had never expected from himself, he covered the upper part of his face with one his hands.
"I don’t deserve you" he muttered under his breath but it was enough for Ivelia to hear as she responded with a warm smile.
"Of course you do. You’re my knight in shining armor. Literally"
"And I’m your princess" she added with a playful giggle.
Removing the hand that was covering his face, Flynn stared at Ivelia adoringly for a few seconds, after which he then quietly spoke.
"I love you"
"And I love you too" Ivelia quietly responded too while gently stroking his hair with a doting smile nestled on her lips.
Following this, the lady then outstretched her free palm and Flynn gently placed the Rubik’s cube on it.
Scattering the cube again for him, the couple soon noticed that Adrian’s team, just as Flynn had previously said, was now in a tie with Beatrice’s team, the score locked at eleven to eleven points.
This meant that they would either keep playing until one side either reached thirteen in two points succession or the game would continue until that condition of being two points higher than the latter was met.
Returning the cube back to Flynn, Ivelia now having a satisfied expression on her face went back to occasionally cheering for her brother’s team while Flynn kept trying to shorten the number of moves with the cube.
It was also around this time that Aiden and Caroline finally reached over to their side.
In the next few minutes after that though, Aiden and Caroline already had their own tent set just beside Flynn and Ivelia’s.
All three youths now watching the volleyball match play out, Adrian’s team soon emerged victorious at sixteen to fourteen points (16:14).
With a trio fist bump, Adrian flashed a happy grin at Lucas and Amelia who were also pretty happy with their victory.
Beatrice, Ivar and Bryan however, didn’t seem to mind the loss and instead, just gave each other high-fives for a game well-played.
Just as this was happening, Ivar soon spotted Maya and Ben who were coming from afar, both of them carrying a cooler which, presumably, contained chilled drinks and sodas.
Although the breeze from the beach was very cool to say the least, it did nothing to suppress the slowly increasing heat as the day was slowly shifting from late morning into the early afternoon.
Thankful for the drinks, each youth soon found one that suited their tastes the moment the cooler was finally brought over as they all took their places under the various tents and colored umbrellas each pair had previously set up.
The original pairing of Aiden & Flynn with their respective partners, Lucas with Amelia, Beatrice with Bryan, Ivar with Maya and finally, Adrian and Ben, both of whom had individual tents.
The next hour after all that could only be described as a youthful experience for all of them as they chatted, made jokes and watched the next match that took place between another set of cadets.
Overall, they all had a jolly good time at the beach.
-Thwap!
Mistakenly sending a powerful spike shot hurling towards the direction of Maya’s face from one of the ongoing volleyball matches, Ivar had promptly extended his hand as a black yet thick elastic tape-like material shot out from his nano-band to grab the ball instead and bring it over to him.
Watching as Maya shyly thanked Ivar for protecting her, the other youths just did the expected and began to tease both youths with mischievous expressions on all their faces, with the exception of Lucas, Amelia and Ben who just found the entire scenario amusing.
As this was happening, the smartwatch of very single cadet on the beach, instantly rang at the same time.
Without even being told, all the youths knew exactly what the notifications had entailed and promptly, they all began to look for their assigned partners who were given the same quest to carry out.
This was something they had heard was going to happen from some of their seniors and it was one of the things that truly made Arcana Academy stand out in terms of practical and on-the-job experiences they gave their cadets.
Even on a school trip which should’ve been all fun and games, the academy spared no effort to always keep the cadets on their toes and remind them of their status as future rankers.
A group quest is what it was referred to as and cadets were selected by their class instructors based on their core-ranks and abilities, all in addition to whom they had felt would be the best to complete the task or mission that was assigned to them.
As Flynn and Aiden checked their smartwatches for the details of the group quest along with the rest of the other youths, a curious expression soon surfaced on both of their features.

"So, this is the only entrance in?" Adrian rhetorically questioned while pointing to the spot on one of the large blueprints that was spread across the round and polished mahogany table.
"Seems so. Bet they built it like that so there’d be only one way in and one way out in case anyone tried to pull any funny business" Lucas who folded his arms across his chest replied with a small frown.
"But even then, what’s more curious is the underground structure beneath it…" Bryan curiously stated, his eyes travelling over to the second blueprint that detailed an underground structure of said building.
"So the real question is, ’how do we get into that part?’ " Caroline and Beatrice stated while Ivar and Ivelia just kept studying the architectural structure on the blueprint.
"Is there really any need for us to go down there though?" Amelia soon asked a curious question and everyone actually contemplated over her words.

It was a solid question afterall.
"Yes. It’s important that we do try to infiltrate it. I’m pretty sure the people we’re tasked with apprehending, will probably want to perform a covert operation too and will only, go loud if the situation warrants it" Flynn casually replied to the brown-haired lady with a solid reasoning too after which he then added.
"That way. We’ll be able to prevent them from making off with the items under the radar…"
"Yeah. That actually makes a lot of sense. Why risk having everyone on your ass when you can just quietly do it…" Adrian muttered with a nod and then, Aiden finally spoke up.
"That being said, the only way we’re ever finding out about the secret entrance, which I’m sure is definitely somewhere around or within the building, is to scout it out"
"But then again, the building would totally have sensors to spot any of our suspicious activities… and we also only have two days to prepare" Bryan stated out loud.
"About that, I think Ivar should be able to do something about it…" Ivelia glanced over to her brother who just nodded his head and then pointed to the black band on his wrist.
Immediately, they all nodded in agreement with that reasoning as Ivar spoke up.
"At the very least, I will only be able to add the feature to three bands given the little time I have"
"That’s more than enough. We’ll just need to select three among us who’ll need to infiltrate the underground area along with you" Flynn commented and after that, a few more discussions pertaining to how they would handle their group quest played out.
After having a few more discussions, Adrian soon pitched a curious question to Flynn.
"How exactly did you get this though Flynn?" the long red-haired prince pointed to the blueprints on the table.
"The dark web" Flynn shrugged his shoulders, after which he then casually added.
"Found a crap ton of things I should and shouldn’t have but hey, as long as you have an insane amount of money, you can get even the most hidden information from there"
"And how much exactly did you spend to get it?" the crown prince asked again curiously, a few fingers placed on his chin.
"One Million Elnors" Flynn calmly replied and everyone just nodded their heads in understanding.
Everyone except Ivelia and Ivar who just shook their heads in resignation at all the nobles and their busted sense of spending money.
Elnor (El), was the currency of Flenor Islands and it was of slightly of less value than Arceum (AR) which was the currency in Arcadia.
That being said though, they both understood why that amount wasn’t really a big sum for Flynn.
This was because ever since the potion business took off, their father actually gave Flynn and Aiden 10% (5% each) of the revenue that was gotten from it as their personal income while the twins themselves got 30% (15% each) of it.
Even that was something they had almost denied and had requested for even less but Leopold had been adamant and as a result, reluctantly agreed to the shares.
And this was considering that he had initially offered the twins 50% of all the revenue previously, to which they themselves vehemently rejected.
Realm-Lore Elixirs on the other hand got 15% of the revenue while the remaining 45% was left with The Belmonts.
All that aside though, despite now actually swimming in money, Ivelia and Ivar still couldn’t completely shake off the feeling of spending bogus amounts of money due to how much they had spent their lives living frugally.
Although the same could be said for Aiden and Flynn when taking their past lives into consideration, both youths had pretty much also lived their entire lives as nobles so if a situation ever required them to spend tons of money to get something easily done, then there was no reason to hold back, especially if it was very important.
Now, as all the youths in his group stood around the fairly wide mahogany round-table in his room, Flynn was quite glad he bought the blueprints despite the crazy price because to be fair, it would make their group quest easier, even if just by a tiny bit.
