(Two days ago…)

Flynn, after finding out about the Eclipsian Prism’s involvement in their group quest, had spoken to Aiden regarding an interesting idea he had about what they could do.

After listening to his brother’s downright excellent idea, they then also presented the idea to the other youths, whom after also listening to it, believed it was a truly excellent plan.

The next day though, very early in the morning, all the cadets assigned to various group quests, instantly began to do the preliminary requirements.

Aiden and Flynn’s group, Team X, was also of no exception to this.

After also being provided with the outfits and cars by the academy, all of which they would use to blend in into the auction, just like the way other cadets were provided with their own necessary equipment for their own quest, immediately began scouting out of the surrounding areas of The Spina De-La Roas.

Most of the people in their group quest, all went on to scout the auction house, the exceptions being Ivelia and Ivar, Beatrice, Bryan and Amelia.

The twins were actually tasked with other important jobs which was also necessary for the success of their mission while the remaining youths, just bided their time while preparing for their mission, either by studying the blueprints they had now all duplicated or, train with each other on a more secluded part of the beach whenever they were feeling more active.

Ivelia, by the way, was tasked with creating a potion that could function as an odourless sleeping gas, along with one other task that was assigned to her regarding Flynn’s idea.

Ivar on the other hand, was solely focused on implementing the camouflaging function of his nano-band into three among the other experimental ones he still had.

The youths who were out scouting though, soon realized that the auction house, asides from having a borderline impenetrable security as evidenced by the immense numbers of guards that were on duty, most definitely due to the auction taking place in a day from then, also seemingly had no secret entrances.

Flying in the sky, teetering the edge of the vicinity of the auction houses’ sensor’s range, Aiden, Flynn, Lucas and Adrian, were unable to find anything suspicious while gazing from above.

They had been at this for over two and a half hours now and yet, nothing suspicious turned up.

Maybe they could’ve found something if they came down a bit from the sky but then, the sensors surrounding the floating island’s magnificent building would immediately spot them so that wasn’t feasible.

Caroline however, who had been on the ground, all while using her [Floral Series] as she sat atop a tree which was located at a far distance in the outskirts of the floating island of the auction site, had her eyes closed in immense concentration.

It wasn’t as if this place she was in wasn’t also been monitored but, the security there was just exceptionally lax.

It was, to be fair, practically a mini-forest after all so who would want to even guard such a place in the first place, especially when The Spina De-La Roas was located far away from it.

Using a pretty tricky spell called [Nature’s Sight] though, which allowed her to tap into the plants within an exceptionally wide range and project her senses into them, she soon spotted a few odd trucks and a certain parking space at the auction building’s surroundings.

Further studying the spot the trucks parked at as she peered on from a small flower present in the flowerbed directly in front of the suspicious parking space, the lady soon realized that whenever a truck parked to drop off goods, it would make a few mechanical whirring sounds before finally leaving as the guards on ground would retrieve some auction items from its container through the back.

Watching this happen for a few more times, the astute young lady soon realized that underneath that same parking space the trucks all parked at various intervals, there was a small mechanical hatch that only opened underneath once the truck was parked above it!

This was the secret entrance! A spot hidden in plain sight, which, due to the normal actions of the guards on duty retrieving items from all the trucks, made it even harder for the average individual to spot it!

Caroline could even bet that the real goods that were meant to be auctioned, were probably passed through the hatch instead and the ones they were retrieving in plain sight was all just a façade.

Informing the other youths who were scouting from above with a text from her smartwatch, they all soon conveyed at the same place the lady was at on the outskirts of floating Island’s mini forest.

After explaining what she had discovered to the youths, Flynn immediately pulled out a copy of the blueprint and went over it again.

Quickly, he soon realized, that in fact, there was actually two hatches that seemingly came out of nowhere in different rooms of the underground structure.

At first the silvery-green haired youth had only thought the hatches were plans for a chandelier or just an architectural design on the ceiling but the more he looked at it, the more he realized what it actually was.

A bit ticked off that she wasn’t able to find the second hatch though, even after searching for almost close to three hours, Caroline had a slight frown make its way onto her beautiful features!

All the youths upon noticing this on the other hand, thanked the lady for a job well done instead.

At the very least, they now knew of one way to get into the underground structure even if they didn’t know the other.

Soon, after discussing a few more things regarding the underground structure, all the youths returned back to the AquaMaris, ready to further prepare themselves for the day of the auction.

***

(A few minutes ago, just before the other youths had arrived…)

Standing atop a tree with a binocular in his hands, Flynn, watched through the eyes of the gadget as a certain black truck slowly made its way over to the specific parking space where the hatch was situated.

’Finally!’ he thought to himself, after which he then quickly returned the gadget to his spatial bracelet.

Looking over beside him, Ivar nodded his head in response while Lucas and Adrian who were also on the branches of the other tree just beside them, did the same.

Flynn, Adrian, Lucas and Ivar, all of whom were tasked with infiltrating the underground structure of the auction house in an effort to protect them from being stolen from under the radar by The Monolith, simultaneously tapped on the nano-band on their wrists.

-Shuaamm!

Instantly, all youths turned invisible and swiftly, made their way over to the black truck whose items were being off-loaded by the guards.

Even on a day like this, as people were flocking into The Spina De-La Roas for another chance to get their hands on rare antiquities and treasures, new items were still being brought in by the hour.

Finally reaching over to the truck, all while ensuring not to bump into the multiple number of slowly increasing wealthy individuals who were showing up at the auction house, all four youths swiftly crouched under the wide truck.

-Whirrr…

Spotting the surprisingly wide hatch which could fit even two humans at the same time open with a mechanical whir even as some large boxes were dropped into it from a similarly wide circular hole from underneath the truck, all the youths waited patiently until the last few goods were being offloaded.

-Whirrr…

Noticing another whir, indicating that the hatch was about to close, the youths swiftly dived into it one after the other, the camouflaging concrete lid covering up just as Ivar dived in last.

-Swwwooossshhh…

Feeling themselves falling down the hatch as the upward drift of wind ruffled their hairs, all four youths anxiously waited until the fall would stop.

-Fwwwoooommm…

Suddenly feeling as an even stronger updrift of wind held them in place for a while before their legs finally touched the ground gently, presumably due to the strong effect a gadget in the room, all the youths sighed in relief.

"Now, to get out of here…" Adrian quietly said, his voice faint and almost above a whisper as he looked around the dark room which seemed to be full multiple large, brown boxes.

Almost immediately he said that though, the large metal door opened as bright, fluorescent white lights poured in.

"Come on men. We don’t have all day. Let’s get this to the storage room pronto" a burly man ordered as five other men who were dressed in jet-black suits, responded in a respectful tone.

"You got it boss!"

Considering the cloak of invisibility was still functional on the nano-bands, the guards who were armed to the teeth with actual, normal guns, soon made their way into the room to pick up the goods, completely unable to spot the youths who calmly held their breaths.

How Ivar had been able to create this, almost ridiculous piece of tech in just a month after joining the magic engineering department in their second year, was an unexplainable form of sorcery his peers would never understand.

It’s not like cloaking tech wasn’t already a thing in this world but actually getting your hands on one, would undoubtedly cost you a fortune so this one that they had on their being was a godsend.

And as a result, all three youths who were now donning the bands, were so grateful for the youth’s genius as they soon sneaked out of the dark room and into the corridor, not a single guard noticing their presence.

The moment they moved far enough, away enough from the room they had just left, Flynn along with the other youths, immediately sent a text to his brother and the others.
