Watching the blurring speed of Magnus’s tomahawk descending like a blitz of light, Flynn had prepared for his [Force Field] barrier to be shattered without mercy.

However, The Obelisk Arm did something completely unexpected.

-Swoosh…

Instantly disappearing into a streak of golden light particles, Magnus disappeared and instantly reappeared inside Flynn’s barrier, one of his tomahawks already nearing Flynn’s neck.

’Damn this bastard and his busted [Series]!’ Aiden inwardly cursed whilst already slashing downwards at an impossible speed with {Counterstance}.

Magnus who had purposely appeared within Flynn’s green-aquamarine barrier to catch the youths off guard, watched as Flynn dodged the fatal attack aimed for his neck at an almost instinctive speed with a flexible backbend, the tomahawk nicking a few strands of his hair.

’Oh?’ Magnus inwardly thought to himself as he watched the youth instantly pull a backflip at the impossible angle to kick the weapon out of his own hands.

Retracting his weapon at a blurring speed before Flynn’s tactic worked, Magnus refocused his attention on the other youth in double quick time.

-Swish…

Seemingly having noticed Aiden’s impossible attack from the very moment it began, both of Magnus’s tomahawks blocked the youths powerful downwards slash in a cross-guard manner.

-Clang!!!

Sparks flew the moment the attacks came into contact and the attacks stayed there, neither wanting to budge first, followed by a strong burst of pressurized air.

-Fwwwooossshhh…

Smiling sadistically as if he was having a field day with the youths, Magnus instantly used a singular spell of his own without a second wasted.

’[Hybrid Series: Augmentative Burst]’

’What the?!’ Aiden inwardly commented, noticing the absurd increase in power and speed Magnus had suddenly attained as he pushed him back while returning his tomahawks to his spatial ring.

Before Aiden could even understand what had even happened though, a mighty punch landed with a deafening bang on the visor of his battle suit.

-Crack! Bang!!!

"Argh!" the youth let out a pained cry as he found himself helplessly flying across the room like a marionette with broken strings, the glass of his visor instantly shattered along with Flynn’s [Force Field] barrier which he mercilessly collided with.

Watching his brother sent flying like a weightless object, Flynn who had just landed from his backflip, instantly watched as Magnus appeared before him like a mirage, grabbed him by the neck, and delivered a brutal choke slam to his entire being.

-BAM!!!

"Kah!" Flynn painfully voiced, his head spinning as his body brutally collided with the unforgiving concrete flooring of the room.

Gripping Magnus’s arm tightly, Flynn despite the immense pain he was in, instantly capitalized on the close proximity his assailant was in with him.

Raising his legs up, he swiftly executed a triangle choke on Magnus, whom despite believing the youth would’ve been knocked out from the brutal attack of his, instead capitalized on his openings.

"You think you’ll win hmm?" Magnus then asked Flynn with a wicked grin.

"Alright! Let’s see who dies first then!" the man ominously added while further increasing his grip on the youth’s neck.

’Shit! Shit!’ Flynn inwardly cursed, realizing fully well that this was a battle of attrition he couldn’t win, air rapidly getting lost from his lungs as he struggled to breathe.

Luckily though, Aiden had recovered and the youth, instantly activated two spells of his own while dashing forward.

’[Gravity Series: Suction]-!!!’

Simultaneously also activating [Gravity Blast], the youth’s greatsword glowed with a dark hue of green as Magnus suddenly felt an invisible and powerful force pulling both he and Flynn backwards.

-Fwooosssh!!!

Feeling Magnus’s grip lighten on his neck for a slight second, Flynn instantly activated {Twilight Waltz} and disappeared like a wave of pale blue hue, smartly escaping the deathly chokehold he had been subjected to.

-Swoosh…

Reappearing just above his brother just as the latter was delivering a disastrous arc of dark green energy with his greatsword, Flynn simultaneously used {Severance} without wasting a moment.

-Twoom!!

-Slash!!

The two powerful attacks closed in on Magnus who was still being pulled backwards by Aiden’s previous spell in the blink of an eye.

Yet, Magnus only smirked as he forcefully turned around as if negating the effects of Aiden’s spell, ready to use another spell of his own.

However, Aiden who was unwilling to give him the opportunity, instantly released [Suction] and switched at an unbelievably alarming speed to [Compression]!

Magnus who had been planning to use a far less mana-draining spell to evade the lethal attacks the two youths had subjected him to, suddenly felt as the gravity around him forcefully tried to pushed him downwards without warning.

-Fwaaa!!!

Although the attack didn’t particularly suppress him as it should’ve, it had paused him for a single fraction of a second.

This single, almost impossible second, was all that was needed for Aiden and Flynn’s joint attack to instantly collide with him with a deafening boom before he could properly avoid it.

-BOOOMMM!!!

The entire metallic walls of the room vigorously quaked, a few of the fluorescent lightbulbs in the room instantly went out of commission again and the concrete flooring exploded into chunks of stones.

The dust from the destruction of the flooring also occupied the portion of the room where the attack had collided with Magnus and as Flynn dropped to the ground to land just beside Aiden from the air, both brother’s view was still very much obstructed by said dust.

However, gradually, the dust soon slowly cleared out and settled down to reveal Magnus standing in the middle of the destroyed crater formed by the destructive attacks from the two youths.

Standing without even a single scratch on his body, almost as if unaffected by the attack, Magnus glared at the two youths from where he was.

’Freakin’ hell…’ Flynn inwardly cussed upon gazing at the sight before him while Aiden’s face instantly contorted into an immensely deep frown.

Staring at Magnus, whom asides from having his previously bloodied blue shirt burnt and destroyed to reveal just how ripped he was, both youths realized that their joint attacks hadn’t really done any significant damage.

Magnus on the other hand was inwardly having a few internal thoughts running through his head.

’Dammit. I used too much mana while taking out the Monolith members…’

’And these two brats… They’re way too skilled for their age…’

Staring at both youths with a glare that was deepening by the second, Magnus let out a tired sigh.

Although having believed he could take care of the two youths easily despite how tired he had been after taking out all the members of the Monolith, the man was now genuinely realizing that he had severely underestimated their capabilities.

’But that won’t stop me from eliminating them…’ Magnus inwardly declared.

Flynn and Aiden on the other hand, felt like they had to be in a state where they needed to maintain as much mana as possible.

Although they didn’t understand why Magnus was the only one facing them when the Monolith members should’ve actually ganged up on them in hordes, they were still being very conservative of their mana.

If they still had to go through the Monolith members and find a way to destroy the railgun even after hopefully escaping from Magnus, then they would still need to fight smart while reserving lots of mana, just as they were presently doing.

This was also why both brothers hadn’t even used mana even when they had fought against the Abyssal Shadowmaw.

Breaking the palpable wave of tension between the two parties though, Magnus soon spoke in a casual tone.

"Honestly, I must say, I’m impressed"

"Despite how much of a disadvantage you both should be at against me, you’re holding on just fine" he continued as he began to walk over slowly.

Aiden and Flynn instead, kept their attention laser-focused as multiple beads of sweat pulled across their faces, not willing to respond to the man.

"Let me take a wild guess though…" Magnus kept speaking, this time with a clearly fake yet thoughtful expression.

"You brats are here to stop the railgun, aren’t you?" he suddenly snapped his fingers with a wicked smile adorning his lips, after which he then declared with a devious grin this time.

"Search all you want though. You’ll never find a single trace of its existence in the stratosphere!"

Flynn upon hearing those words, instantly had a deep frown form on his features behind the visor of the battle suit.

"You might have a bit of luck in space though?" Magnus evilly grinned once again with a sadistic expression on his features, his head slightly tilting in eerie amusement.

’Space?’ Aiden and Flynn once again thought to themselves in response, each having different takes on the words Magnus had just uttered.

As the Obelisk Arm kept walking over though, he continued with his speech.

"But this is so different from our last encounter isn’t it?" he spread his arms wide apart in a questioning gesture.

"I was trying to escape and you were tasked with stopping me" he stated, continuing almost immediately with a disturbing smile.

"And you did, albeit in a very annoying manner… But even then, nothing changed now did it?"

"Haha! Now you’re here again brats! Willingly offering yourselves to me!" Magnus wickedly laughed and continued.

"This time though, you need to get past me, not the other way around! And I promise you, you little shits, you’ll be meeting your demise here!"

"The tables have turned now haven’t they?!" Magnus declared loudly while halting in his steps, directing a genuinely malicious gaze towards the two youths who had completely kept quiet throughout his entire speech.

And then, like an impossible phenomenon that took both parties a bit off-guard, a cool calm voice replied back to Magnus out of thin air.

"Yes. The tables have completely turned Magnus Emberclaw."

The moment those words were uttered from out of nowhere, a haze of golden, rune-like symbols suddenly appeared while rapidly swirling around directly before the two youths.

Stepping out of the golden haze of rune-like symbols was one of Aiden and Flynn’s assigned instructors.

One of Arcadia’s top rankers, sitting at the mid-tier SS-core ranking.

A man, better known by the name, Darius Forge.
