Extra And MC-Chapter 163 - 159 - Events Of A Long-Forgotten Past II
Smiling to himself as he listened to their conversation from afar, Zack had a few thoughts running through his head.
’Oh I’m sure you’ll be sticking around long enough to be able to perform that feat…’
’But keeping Beelzebub in a time loop isn’t a full-proof plan. He has to go for good for Arcanora to be completely free’
Thinking back to how he, his wife and the two grandmasters had killed the bastard again about a thousand years back, albeit with a lot of sacrifices along the way, Zack let out a tired sigh.
Watching as a few disciples here and there kept greeting him, the man also responded and eventually, soon reached the courtyard of the grandmaster’s abode.
Staring at the plum trees as their bloomed petals dropped to the ground, he casually made his way over into the room he was sure all three would currently be at.
Stepping into the room and closing the door behind him, the first thing that caught his eye was a gigantic black orb, almost the size of the entire room.
In front of it were three people, his wife Alyssa and the two grandmasters whom they had met about a century back.
One of the grandmasters was an old woman with flowing white hair that almost touched the ground and the other was an old man with grey hair which was currently tied into a small ponytail.
Walking forward, Godfrey, the old man began to speak, seemingly referring to what the orb was.
"This isn’t comforting at all, knowing that Arcanora will still be eventually conquered by them even after we killed him again. The cycle just seems like it’s fated to continue on until we lose…"
"When you created this Alyssa, how far ahead exactly into the future did you look?" Meryl, the old female grandmaster, asked this time.
"Till the end of Arcanora…" the young woman sighed while Zack who was already standing by them then added.
"It also took along most of her lifespan in exchange so there’s that. Feats like this always come at a price whenever she uses her authority"
"Granted I still have a few years left though, I’d say it was a worthy exchange" Alyssa stretched playfully but everyone else in the room knew she was just trying to put on a brave front, their expressions somber and sad.
The things she would’ve seen must have been quite horrendous but this was how Alyssa had always coped with her burdens. By being rambunctious, mischievous and an overall happy-go-lucky person.
It also didn’t help that she really couldn’t tell anyone about the things she saw, a limitation to the busted authority she had.
But even then, over the past few years when she and her husband had gone on their ’expeditions’, she had found a way to circumvent that limitation to a certain extent.
And that was by creating a Fate Globe, as she liked to term it.
It was basically a globe that although didn’t directly show anything regarding the futures she had seen, still gave a pretty direct representation of things to come.
The way it stayed constantly pitch-black now, meant that in the future, they would still eventually lose and their planet would still be taken over by the Demon King.
But if for any reason at all, in the future, the orb started to change gradually into stark-white, then it meant that somehow, one-way or the other, they had a fighting chance against the demon lord.
It also signified that the demon-king may potentially also be killed for good and his immortality would be countered.
"Well, enough about the bad news! There’s also good news!" Alyssa waved her hand and the gigantic orb disappeared almost immediately.
"Oh really now" Meryl asked as she forced a small smile to tug on the corners of her lips.
"That would be nice to hear. What is it?" Godfrey questioned even further, changing his somber expression into something much warmer.
"We found all of Ancestral Mother’s belongings!" the blonde woman clapped her hands gleefully.
Hearing that, both grandmasters had their eyes widen in utter shock and disbelief.
"But how?! Most of our ancestors have been searching for it for over millenniums of years and none was able to find it! How’d you come across it?!" Meryl exclaimed.
"Well, let’s just say it’s linked to her creating the Fate Globe" Zack began to explain.
"Apparently, when she was done creating it, she said she felt as if something else of similar energy was calling out to her which was already weird enough in itself…"
"So we went on an expedition across a few destroyed planets and eventually, we found it on a specific planet called Earth!" Alyssa continued while clapping in excitement!
"But what really struck us though, was how the planet wasn’t destroyed at all…" Zack then explained further, an inexplicably unreadable expression on his face.
"What do you mean by that?" Godfrey curiously asked.
"Well, the planet was full of life. Maybe too full of life even. But the major stand-out, was how it had literally next to no mana or prana at all…" Zack stated, causing both Godfrey and Meryl’s eyes to widen even further.
"So, for about two years, we were, quite literally, stuck there because that was how long it took for us to gather enough Aether to get back home" he concluded while stroking his chin, a thoughtful expression gracing his face.
Both grandmasters just stared at the two of them, a mixture of shock, disbelief and a puzzling expression of multiple thoughts phasing across their faces.
It was already weird enough that a planet with little to no prana or mana even had people living in them but what was absolutely absurd though, was that people like them, like Amael and Xavier too, who were quite literally the ones with most of Gaia’s blood flowing within them, took so long to gather that amount of Aether on Earth, something that was exceptionally easy for them to gather within literal seconds here in Arcanora.
Allowing them to process the information they had just given to them for a while, the couple just stood still while staring at them.
Eventually, after sorting their thoughts out, the two grandmasters then sighed while Meryl spoke.
"You two always have the craziest adventures…"
"That we do" Alyssa nodded her head in response.
"Well, this isn’t the first time you’ve been caught up in something crazy so it’s fine" Godfrey massaged his temples, his thoughts running back to that one time they infiltrated Infernia, homeland of the demons, just so they could possibly try to assassinate Beelzebub.
’That had ended up failing though…’ the old man sighed and then asked.
"So where exactly on this… earth… did you find Gaia’s belongings?"
"Ah that… We actually found it in two locations. A place called Area 51 and another called The Bermuda Triangle…" Alyssa explained while slightly tilting her head.
"Area 51 had a bunch of puny-looking soldiers with some colorfully weird-looking guns, along with some really weird-looking creatures too. The Bermuda Triangle on the the other hand, now that place was just plain mysterious" she added and then waved her hands dismissively.
"All that aside though, this is what we found" Zack then pulled out two cracked orbs from thin air.
Both were ethereally glowing with a radiant golden hue, it’s size akin to that of a pinball, each with cracked lines and surfaces on them.
"This is what the Fate Globe I created was strongly linked to and resonating with" Alyssa explained as they all stared at the two orbs.
Suddenly, without any warning, silk like threads suddenly extended out of the orbs and began to suck in voluminous amounts of Aether from all of them.
The moment this happened, Zack immediately waved his hands and the orbs instantly disappeared.
"That, always happens whenever we bring it out. It was also a major reason as to why we were stuck on Earth for a very long time" he explained while folding his arms across his chest with a sigh.

"I don’t really know what it is or what it’s capable of but the one time we brought it out on earth, in our home, we had all of our Aether sucked out of us in literal seconds" he further stated.
"But we believe that it probably has a will of its own and maybe, just maybe, Gaia purposely kept it away from Arcanora to prevent just anyone from laying their hands on it" Alyssa gave her own thoughts.
"It might even be a key to defeating Beelzebub you think" Meryl asked and the couple just nodded their heads.
Once again, an introspective silence descended into the room and all four just had a few thoughts running through their heads.
-Sigh…
"Well, there’s no use pondering so hard over what we really do not understand. We’ll keep mulling it over till we can come to understand what it’s capable of… eventually…" Godfrey then broke the silence with a small sigh.
Nodding his head, Zack handed over the orbs and the old man immediately retrieved it before it sucked away all of their Aether again.
Zack genuinely believed that the orbs were best kept with Godfrey, especially since he was the most knowledgeable amongst all four of them.
The young man was sure that eventually, the old man would come to figure out how the orbs ticked.
"So, Alyssa, what do you want to do now that, you know…"
"I’ll be dying in a few years from now?" Alyssa casually completed Meryl’s statement.
"Don’t say that so nonchalantly" Meryl squeezed her hands with a sad expression.
"Oh come on Meryl. I’ve lived a very, very long life. These past thousand years have been a total blessing you know. Meeting you along with the brats have been an absolute joy for me"
Alyssa had a radiant smile on her lips as she said that, one that the old lady couldn’t help but respond in kind to with a warm smile.
"So, although I’m not sure yet, I don’t think I need to bother too much over how I plan to spend my last years. I’ll be fine alright! Let’s not get weighed down by that okay?"
Following that, Alyssa pulled Meryl into a tight hug and the men just watched by from the sidelines with a warm expression mixed with look of acceptance in their eyes.
No sooner had this happened though, they all heard the loud chatters of the six youths as their lively voices filled the courtyard.
Whatever it was it was they were discussing, it very much seemed like they were very invested in it.
"The Valkyries, I hope their adjusting well to other people asides Amael and Xavier?" Zack suddenly questioned.
"Oh yes. In comparison to the first few years when they all woke up, they’ve come to warm up to other people asides me, Godfrey and the two boys. They’re all still awaiting the day their sister will hatch though" Meryl wiped her tears and answered with a motherly smile.
Godfrey also nodded his head in agreement while Alyssa suddenly had a wide grin form on her face as she tightly squeezed Meryl’s hand again.
When the old woman noticed this, she couldn’t help but question and without even skipping a beat, the blonde woman shouted happily!
"I’m pregnant!"
Instantly, Meryl and Godfrey had their jaws drop open but without even minding their expression, Alyssa immediately added.
"He’s a boy! And I’m going to name him Liam!"
