Extra And MC-Chapter 170 - 166 - More To Be Known
"This really has become that titular spot for us huh…" Aiden commented, his eyes taking in the serenity.
"I guess it has…" Flynn replied, his heart at peace.
"I’d have never thought we’d have such a complicated history but I guess both of them kept a lot from us" Aiden said, bending down to pick up a few pebbles.
"Yeah. All in good faith though" Flynn responded, catching a few that his brother tossed over his way.
-Swish…
-Swish…
-Tap. Tap. Tap.
Watching the pebbles skipping across the lake, the sound satisfying, Flynn asked;
"You can feel it, can’t you?"
"The constant indecipherable call in my head? Yeah I can" Aiden replied with a small sigh.
"It’s similar to the one that mum explained she had…" Flynn spoke again, his hands fiddling with the small stone.
"Dimension-hopping Mum and Dad sure had some busted abilities, didn’t they?" Aiden joked and a thin smile tugged on Flynn’s lips.
"That they did…" Flynn remarked, a wave of nostalgia washing over him.
"I miss them" he said a few seconds later and Aiden replied, a nostalgic smile on his face.
"Yeah. Me too"
Gazing at the tranquil waters of the lake, the morning sun casting a gentle golden glow across its expanse, both brothers stayed in silence for a few minutes;
Minutes that seemed to last for hours as multiple memories of the past phased through their minds like a film tape.
"Well. I guess that’s enough reminiscing for now. Let’s not linger too much on the past" Aiden broke the silence, his voice calm as he continued.
"We have a lovely family here that we need to protect and we still need to find a way to kill that bastard for good before or after he arrives" he lightly clasped his hands and Flynn nodded.
"But that’s the question isn’t it? How the actual hell do we kill an immortal being?" Flynn questioned, massaging his temples as his head remained blank.
Frowning, both of them couldn’t help but curse their luck.
That horrendous devil was truly one heck of a relentless symbol of malice the more they thought about it.
Years and years of losing battles against Amael and he still chose to be a looming guillotine over Arcanora’s head 15,000 years later.
What then was the reason for all this substantial boost in their abilities if they couldn’t even kill Beelzebub for good.
Those were the current thoughts running through both youths’ minds as they sighed in resignation.
"You know what, for now let’s just focus on stopping the last two major disastrous events from happening" Aiden declared.
Having already sorted out a major future event where the Tower and The Dark Guilds were supposed to get embroiled in an all-out war due to the Railgun claiming millions of lives, both brother’s thoughts ran to the two other major events left.
The Ducal-Families Festival Arc coming up in the next few months and the Academy Invasion Arc which was going to take place in the first week of the first semester of their third year.
Pondering over those events as told through their knowledge of the future by the novel, both of them contemplated over the reality of those events actually even happening.
Since they’d already twisted the future completely at this point with their actions, they heavily doubted if it would follow the same progression of events.

"Well, even if those events don’t occur anymore, we can at least nip the smaller ones in the bud before they get the chance to fester and become something much bigger" Flynn made a call after a few more minutes of thinking.
"I was expecting you’d say that" Aiden agreed and then added;
"Considering that cat’s out of the bag now regarding our existences, we can give as much information as we feel is necessary to The Tower through our Dad"
"Yeah. Those small dark guilds and mid-sized ones need to be the first ones on the chopping block…" Flynn mused out loud.
"As for Obelisk… now that’s going to be a serious pain in the ass" he frowned as he said that.
Knowing fully well that they were also the ones that were going to instigate the last two major events, the frown on Aiden and Flynn’s face deepened.
Despite having a lot of knowledge regarding most dark guilds and their secret bases due to the large-scale battle that happened between they and The Tower later in the novel, Obelisk and The Monolith had been the two dark organizations whose bases were never actually stated.
That was obviously why Aiden and Flynn hadn’t been able to tip off the Tower regarding their base of operations from the very first day they had arrived at Flenor Islands.
If only that had been the case, everything could have been sorted out before things even got remotely close to the level of destruction it got.
Sighing once again, unable to come up with an actual way to stop them asides just being prepared and informing both the Ducal Families and The Academy before it happened, both brother’s tempered their wills and stuck with the resolution in their minds that whenever it happened, they’d be ready.
"No matter how hard I try to put my thoughts regarding how we have to stop The Demon King away though, it keeps resurfacing in my mind…" Aiden stated, massaging his temples in resignation.
"And this weird siren call in our heads isn’t helping matters either. What are we even supposed to do with it?"
"I honestly have no idea. It’s almost as if its beckoning us to be somewhere else…" Flynn responded, running his hands through his hair.
Realizing once again that this was a question they had no answers to, both brothers were forced to put the issue on the backburner.
"Still, I think it’s important that we have a plan. Any plan at all that we can employ to ensure our victory against Beelzebub…" Aiden said.
This time though, Flynn uttered a few words that surprised his brother;
"Come to think of it though, is it really necessary?" he questioned.
"What do you mean by that?" Aiden inquired, curious about his brother’s thoughts.
"I mean, is it really necessary for us to have a plan to take him down…" he said again, as he remembered a few things Sigrun had informed them about during their time on Flenor Islands.
"Iterations and sub-iterations…" he muttered out loud just after.
"Wasn’t that something Sigrun said?" Aiden inquired with a curious gaze.
"I remember her saying there hasn’t been a single sub-iteration so far during our time?" he placed a few fingers on his chin as he began to contemplate over those words too.
"Yeah. And it’s got me thinking…" Flynn pondered out loud, multiple thoughts running through his head as he continued;
"What if sub-iterations are like fixed events that takes place in the future and could’ve become disastrous enough that it brought about Arcanora’s downfall way before Beelzebub even attacked…"
"All the previous people that were selected before us, what if they had messed things up even further since they had no knowledge of the future like we did, effectively causing a sub-iteration to unfold…"
"All the various scenarios that we’ve been actively changing; The Royal Banquet Event; Saving Ivelia and Ivar; Creation of The Advanced Potions Way Earlier; Stopping the Fissure Overload at the Academy; Stopping and Destroying The Railgun…"
"What if all of that, were things that were always meant to happen regardless of whoever had been chosen in the past and they had ended up screwing things over in the worst way possible instead of actually fixing things as Amael had hoped?"
"Then that makes us fundamentally different from them because we know the future! Due to that, we’ve able to sort things out in the best possible way to ensure that everything stays peaceful"
"And if that’s really the case, then it would explain what her words meant…" Flynn had his eyes lit up a bit as he finished his long monologue.
" ’This iteration hasn’t gone through a single sub-iteration so far…’ " Aiden’s eyes widened in realization as he recalled her words.
"Exactly! And if the world hasn’t gone through a single sub-iteration so far as she said, then think of what happens when there’s none at all till Beelzebub arrives" Flynn began to explain again.
"Arcanora will basically be at its most powerful state yet in comparison to all the previous iterations!" Aiden remarked, fully understanding where his younger brother was going with all this.
"Yeah! And honestly, I’m still unsure of whether we can kill Beelzebub for good…"
"But, if by the time he arrives, there are a lot of powerful rankers, not just from the Tower but all over Arcanora, the dark guilds included, there’d hopefully, hopefully be enough firepower to resist him again at the very least" Flynn said, a serious expression on his face.
"So our plan remains the same then. Keep thwarting Obelisk’s plans and maintaining the peace till his arrival" Aiden stated, realizing there really was no need for a plan after all.
Flynn simply nodded in response to that.
All they needed to do, was to simply keep doing as they’d been doing from the get-go.
It should’ve been such an obvious thing for them to have realized a long while back but, due to the knowledge of the tragic ending of the future they had, they’d always felt like they should’ve been doing something on a larger scale to solely mitigate that.
Turns out, there was really no need to feel like that.
What they had been doing had been more than enough.
"One thing though…" Flynn then raised a finger up, causing Aiden to arch a curious eyebrow.
"There is one person that may have an idea of how to defeat him for good" he calmly said.
And then, as if reading each other’s minds, both of them swiftly retrieved Xavier’s notebook from their spatial storages.
Staring at the book, Aiden was about to retrieve a pen from his spatial ring when he noticed Flynn already hurling the book straight into the lake.
