As Leopold blitzed through the air at breakneck speed, along with Sebastian and Julius, a bunch of rankers from the Tower also hurtled after him, their destination set.

The moment he received the message from his wife, he spared no effort to quickly head out whilst informing the others within vicinity.

However, when he checked the timing of the message, it seemed like it had been sent over an hour ago, making him even more apprehensive.

Due to the sudden unknown monsters that had appeared in the sky without warning, every single on-field ranker had been discharged to protect and evacuate the citizens without a moment wasted.

The fact that the monsters could even disrupt the mana in the air had also thrown so many rankers off-guard at first, further leading to a few casualties here and there, along with mass destruction of important properties and infrastructures.

As a result, even after the creatures suddenly began to diminish in numbers bit by bit, some of the damage they had done was disastrous and they as rankers, couldn’t just leave their assigned sites without seeing to it that things were stabilized.

Unfortunately, that had also been the reason why Leopold had been so late to see the message.

Soon, their destination came into view and quickly, they accelerated even further.

But the most shocking sight however, was the sight of Rigurd Talos, similarly knocked out cold a few centimeters away from them, traces of his body filled with burn marks here and there as he lay in a pool of ashes.

"What in the name of mana is going on here…" Sebastian who was beside Leopold and Julius muttered, seemingly voicing out the question everyone else was too stunned to ask.

Maybe it was safe to say they could, but the situation just wouldn’t allow them.

Currently sitting in their main living room, were three otherworldly-looking ladies.

There was a certain feel of alluring mysticism they exuded, one that drew everyone’s eyes to them as they conversed amongst themselves.

"No. No sugar cubes" Morrigan gently pushed Sigrun’s hands away.

"Eh. More for me I guess" the Valkyrie shrugged and added more to her tea from the saucer containing sugar cubes.

Senya on the other hand, didn’t even pay attention to her sisters and instead, rested her cheek on her palm whilst staring at Briar who was ogling the silver runes on her face, her big round purple eyes drawn to them.

For some reason or the other, when Briar had woken up, she had literally no recollection of all of the events that happened.

It was almost as if her memory was wiped clean, making her feel like she had woken up from slumber like any normal day.

This on the other hand, made her family worried as they wondered if the young girl had unconsciously blurred it out due to the trauma she must’ve experienced.

So, as Anna, Ivelia, Ivar and Caroline, sat on the couch opposite the Valkyries, slowly drinking their own respective beverages, they scrutinized the mystifying individuals with tentative gazes.

Frank also stood by the sides, awaiting a proper explanation from the three Valkyries just like the others.

Considering they had also watched, right before their eyes, as two of these three otherworldly ladies had transformed and retransformed from Butler Frank and Maid Rebecca back to themselves when they had arrived, and that without mana too, The Belmonts could only watch, impatiently awaiting answers to the entire scenario.

Aiden and Flynn though, both of whom had already been brought up to speed on the matter, weren’t in the living room with them.

Instead, the two youths were currently outside the mansion with their father and a few important people from The Tower, dealing with something else that was just as important.

Realizing that the people before them were waiting for a good explanation for everything that had transpired, Sigrun, after sipping from her teacup, opened her mouth to speak;

"We, are Valkyries" she began, completely catching everyone in the room except her sisters off-guard.

And as if to prove it, Morrigan slowly levitated into the air, her massive wings taking a corporeal shape till it became fully tangible.

This sight, caused Ivar’s spoon to drop from his hands whilst Anna, Ivelia and Caroline were stun-locked at the sight of the massive, beautiful wings.

Frank, was equal parts shocked yet still very wary of Morrigan. She had been the one to abduct he and the poor maid of their mansion out of the blue afterall.

Briar on the other hand, let out a small wow, her excitement and curiosity at an all-time high.

"And she is too…" Sigrun casually revealed, landing her soft, warm gaze on the young girl.

However, the bombshell of a news, stunned all the individuals in the room who were unaware to no ends, one that caused even the usually composed Frank to stagger a bit.

That being said, Briar herself tilted herself in genuine curiosity and questioned;

"Me?" she pointed to herself, her expression curious.

"Yes you." Senya ruffled her hair with the warmest smile, causing the young girl to giggle heartily.

"Ashildr entrusted her to a kind young woman named Laurianne Steelblade when we first came to this century…" Morrigan whom was more reserved of all the three, spoke lengthily.

Hearing those words, Ivelia and Ivar widened their eyes in genuine disbelief.

’Laurianne… That’s her name…’ they both thought to themselves, suddenly feeling overwhelmed after learning something very important about their long-gone mother.

Seeing the looks on their faces, Anna tightly squeezed Ivar’s hands and Caroline did the same for Ivelia, an understanding smile on their respective faces.

"But back then, she was still just an egg…" Morrigan on the other hand, casually continued.

"However, that’s a long, long story. One that Aiden and Flynn will fill you in on later" Morrigan levitated back onto the chair, her wings disappearing as she picked up her cup of tea.

"What you actually need to know is this" Senya spoke this time, picking up Briar and placing her on her laps while explaining;

’Doom… I’m guessing it’s the invasion of the Demon King like Aiden and Flynn told us’ Caroline thought to herself as she sipped on her tea.

"We can’t interfere too much for obvious reasons…" Sigrun on the other continued, causing the Duchess to respond in an inquiring tone;

"Because you’re not from here?"

"Yes. We can’t kill any human from earth. We can’t change fixed points in time. And if we do use our powers, a portion of our memory is taken in return, relative to the amount we use" Sigrun explained.

"It’s why she won’t ever remember any of the things that happened to her this morning…" Senya briefly glanced over to the young girl.

"Because to a certain extent, she tapped into it, if only for a brief moment to keep herself from passing out from all the stress when she found out she was in danger" she added.

Briar herself, whom they were conversing over, didn’t even seem to care as she was currently fascinated by the orange streaks in Senya’s burgundy hair, her dainty hands reaching out to touch it.

"But still, we have to try to help out in any way we can, despite the restrictions" Sigrun spoke this time, her gaze travelling over to everyone in the room who had been hit with one revelation after the other in the past few minutes.

"Because this is now our home too" Sigrun warmly smiled as she said.

A small wave of silence cascaded over the room after she said that and the air, became less tense and more comfortable for The Belmonts.

"All that aside though, in an effort to counter the restrictions on us to a certain extent, we’ve all learnt the art of working from the shadows without interfering too much" Sigrun began talking again as she sipped from her cup of tea.

"Morrigan is actually the de-facto leader of Obelisk and has been regulating the dark organization" Sigrun casually dropped another bombshell, one that caused everyone in the room to gaze in the golden-eyed woman’s direction.

"Senya, works as the Vice-Dean of Arcana Academy to protect the students indirectly…" Sigrun continued;

"I, work as an information broker across the nations… known only to a select few"

"And as for Ashildr, our last sister, she’s pretty much on the frontlines in Qilos Republic 24/7" Sigrun explained, not that she expected them to understand that last part.

Another wave of silence cascaded over the room as The Belmonts, along with Caroline, tried to process all the revelations that they were hit with one after the other.

"But why allow Briar to get kidnapped?" Ivelia soon voiced the question everyone else was mostly curious about.

"And why reveal all of this information to us now?" Caroline doubled down with her own question, awaiting an answer from the Valkyries.

To that, another brief wave of silence descended into the room.

However, after a few more seconds, Morrigan, gently lowering her own cup of tea, decided to speak.

"The reason for that…" she began.
