"The reason for that…" Morrigan began.

"Happened about a month ago…" she dropped her cup of tea onto the table and then continued;

"The Obelisk Arms, in previous iterations, weren’t exactly regulated. They were way too chaotic and unpredictable. Often came up with some very destructive plans"

"What do you mean by reiterations?" the Duchess immediately questioned instead with slightly furrowed eyebrows, one that the others in the rooms shared.

"Oh. I guess they might have not informed you just yet" Morrigan mused out loud, her finger lightly tapping her lips.

"Well, simply put, Arcanora is going through its last reset before the invasion of the Demon Kin" the Valkyrie explained casually, sending every other individual’s thoughts in the room asides her sisters into a state of disarray.

"And in all the past resets, Arcanora, unfortunately, loses to them" Morrigan continued, unperturbed by their shocked expressions.

"But even before the invasions, a few major events transpire along the course of each timeline that ultimately spells doom for Arcanora itself…" Morrigan explained further.

"Most of those major events were orchestrated by Obelisk unfortunately, effectively leading to an all-out war even before the actual war with the Demon Kins themselves" she kept speaking.

"Which is why, someone needed to clip their wings a bit" she said, the meaning of her words, audible enough to everyone in the room.

"So, becoming their leader, ensured that I could control a few variables here and there" she shed more light on the matter.

"One of those variables, heavily involved shaping how Rigurd Talos’s plans panned out…"

"However, there was one fixed event I couldn’t change no matter how hard I tried. And that was the Annual Royal Banquet" the Valkyrie explained.

"That was until your sons came along, completely changing the outcome of the events itself…" Morrigan secretly glanced at her empty cup, wishing there was more tea in it.

It was such a subtle thing and yet, every single person in the room asides Briar, caught onto it.

Due to that, The Duchess asked of Frank to get some more for her.

Pretending as if she hadn’t just been caught red-handed though, Morrigan continued speaking with her neutral expression, a few chuckles escaping Senya and Sigrun’s lips.

"As a result of their actions, Rigurd’s plans slowly shifted from wanting to kill off all the nobles to wanting to specifically kill two of them off because he considered them a thorn in his path"

"Due to that, he contacted Sigrun requesting for information regarding the Belmonts in general and someone who could infiltrate their mansion and kidnap Briar about a month ago" Morrigan started getting to the main point.

"He had of course run the plan through me a long while back so I’d ensured to capitalize on it and give Sigrun a heads up beforehand" the Valkyrie gestured over to her sister who was thanking Frank for the refill.

"I also ensured to relay the information to Senya here, having her disguise herself as your Butler and Sigrun, as your Maid the night I abducted them" Morrigan words started piecing everything together for the Belmonts.

"Sigrun in return, recommended Senya to Rigurd, which of course he had no idea was her considering her perfect disguise as Butler Frank at the time"

"And that was how we managed to pull off a quiet abduction amidst the chaos of the Inferno Dragons suddenly appearing" the Valkyrie concluded, taking a sip out of her tea as she did.

Allowing her words to sink in, the atmosphere in the room turned a bit tense and everyone went silent…

Everyone asides Briar who immediately retorted with a frown;

"I wasn’t abducted!"

Her cheeks were puffed out, her lips were pouted and her hands were crossed over her small chest with an even deeper frown.

Seeing this sight, a string of chuckles began to pierce the slightly tense atmosphere, eventually resulting a hearty laughter first from Ivar, then followed by everyone present.

Even Morrigan had an ever-so-thin smile present on her features and soon, the atmosphere in the room turned normal.

"So, regarding your questions…" Morrigan then directed her gaze over to Ivelia and Caroline.

"The reason we allowed Briar’s abduction to go through, was to engineer a scenario where Rigurd could be effectively taken down without any casualties" she explained.

"Of course, it mostly depended on Aiden and Flynn’s combat prowess but, considering they were still S-rank and A-rank as at last month, Rigurd’s information wasn’t updated…" Sigrun pointed out.

"As opposed to their SS and S rank now though, Rigurd would’ve definitely felt he could handle them on his own… though that was just his pride and arrogance getting in the way of making a full-proof plan" Sigrun kept talking.

"In addition to that too, having tested them myself, I had a feeling they could pull it off" Sigrun added nonchalantly, causing everyone in the room asides her sisters to squint their eyes at her, seemingly prodding for more answers.

"It’s a long story" she simply waved off their inquisitive gazes, though it was obvious they weren’t ready to give up just yet.

"As for why we’re revealing all this to you now…" Morrigan spoke again, seemingly ignoring the everyone’s inquisitive gazes on her sister.

"It’s because it’s necessary that you’re able to trust us…" she said, pausing for a bit before she then continued;

"Because in the coming months, we’re going to be training your sons and bringing them up to new heights in preparation for the last invasion of the Demon King and his army"

No sooner had those words landed, another wave of silence filled the room, the atmosphere turning tense again.

It was one thing to think they had been safe all these years but now that they realized they had never truly been safe, every other human in the room became extremely worried.

Their survival was being threatened and judging by the stories they had heard about the Demon King and his army from the history of their world, the beings were truly terrifying.

Anna, seemingly having figured out that her sons had a big role to play in what was coming though, massaged her temples with her hand for a few seconds and then, let out a long sigh that broke the silence.

Glancing over to Ivelia, Ivar and Caroline who had similarly figured the same thing out, the Duchess then opened her mouth to speak, her tone resolute;

"When will they start?"

Raging fire.

That was what was present in the young Rigurd’s field of vision as his tribe was mercilessly slaughtered by a few greedy nobles who wanted their expansive lands for themselves.

’Ah. I’m back to this nightmare again…’ the man, self-conscious of where he was, thought to himself, unable to do anything about the sight before him.

An industrial revolution the nobles had called it, one that would better their lives.

That was the offer they had proposed, offering them borderline immense sums of money in exchange for said land.

And yet, when their patriarch had refused, the nobles had resorted to dirty tactics to drive them out of the land.

Poisoning their water.

Destroying their crops.

That, among so many others, had made life a living hell for them at the time.

But still, they persisted… only for the nobles to finally resort to full-on bloodshed when they had enough of their resilience.

As Rigurd watched his mother and father beheaded right before his eyes, their headless bodies falling to the ground from the tree trunk they had hid him in, he vowed with all his might that very day, to exterminate all nobles, regardless of whether they deserved mercy or not as tears streamed down his eyes.

’Yes. No matter the cost… Even if I’m dead. I’ll haunt their dead souls in the darkest depths of hell’ Rigurd reaffirmed his resolution as the nightmarish scene replayed before his very eyes.

Blinking his eyes wide open, noticing the greenery on the expanse of land that spread far into the distance, Rigurd lay still, wondering how he was still alive.

’Heaven?’ he mused.

’No. That’s impossible for me…’ he discarded the thought.

Added to that, his ears started to pick up on a few conversations here and there, not that it could even discern it properly.

"How do you know all this… No, that isn’t even necessary at the moment. This though…" Julius had a bewildered expression as he changed the topic;

"So you’re saying these are the hideouts of most of the dark organizations" the old man questioned again, a strong perplexity to his tone as he stared at the holographic map full of markers here and there.

To that, the brothers simply nodded.

Just a few minutes ago, as if to verify the authenticity of the information, Julius had teleported over to a few places among the marked spots on the map, only to realize that the youths were telling the truth.

Considering Leopold had already brought Baz up to speed on what had transpired with his sons, the situation wasn’t as particularly shocking to both of them as it should’ve been.

The same thing couldn’t be said for the other rankers around though, most of them seemingly just gazing at the many red dots on the map in disbelief.

The two youths however, upon noticing that Rigurd was awake, called out to him simultaneously;

"Yo"

Instantly, the defeated Obelisk Arm sprung up to sit from his previously prone position, his clarity rushing back to him in an instant.

Watching as the two stared at him with a pretty casual gaze, Rigurd soon realized that they weren’t the only ones around.

Asides the youths, was the Duke of The Belmont Family, Marquis of The Rothstaylor Family, one of the two SSS-rankers, Julius Hargreaves, and a few other people from the Tower.

In the backdrop of all these individuals, was a well-kept mansion, it’s beauty untainted by the years gone by.

"Why didn’t you kill me?" Rigurd then asked the youths after everything had settled in, his eyes still as murderous as ever despite the mana cuffs in his hands sealing off his mana.

Lowering and squatting down to his eye level, Flynn was the first to speak;

"Honestly, I’d kill you if I were left to my own elements"

"What you did was utterly diabolical and deserves death" he further stated, his tone cold.

"But luckily for you, Flynn and I have a duty of care to this world" Aiden picked up from there, his gaze serious.

"And if leaving you alive, increases the chances of this world’s survival by even just a little bit, we’re willing to overlook what you did" he concluded.

Not that Rigurd’s murderous gaze ever softened for a single moment.

"There is however, one more reason we’re leaving you alive…" Aiden spoke again, causing the man to glare at him.

"And that’s because we want you to understand, that not all nobles are interested in being diabolical like the ones that killed off your tribe" the youth casually stated.

Instantly, Rigurd’s murderous gaze slowly began to morph into one of genuine disbelief and confusion.

This was because he had never, ever, revealed to anyone why he so much hated the nobles. Not even to their Boss.

"Sucks, doesn’t it. After all their promise of giving you a better life, they instead slaughtered your kin and built a stupid amusement park on your land. It’s truly an evil thing to do…" Flynn took it from there as he continued;

"Still, that doesn’t justify your actions, and neither does it justify all the terrible things you’ve done"

"If you had solely targeted the people responsible, maybe things would’ve panned out better…" Aiden commented and Flynn continued;

"But then again, you had no idea whom they were so you simply decided to have everyone else pay for their crimes"

"That doesn’t make you any less evil than them. In fact, it makes you even worse" Flynn concluded, his words definitive as he stood up.

"That being said, we on the other hand, are going to try to do better. Hopefully, that’s something you’ll look back on during your time in solitary confinement" Aiden gave his own final words as he also stood up.

Rigurd upon listening to their words, no matter how much he wanted to refute it, was the harsh, unadulterated truth.

Even though it couldn’t change the nature of the person he had become now, it would definitely, make him ponder over their words for a long while to come.

No sooner had the two youths given their final words to him though, Aiden motioned to the rankers to have them take the man away and in a few seconds, they were gone, leaving only he, Flynn and their father.

Sebastian and Julius had also gone along, ensuring that the Obelisk Arm wouldn’t try any funny business.

As the trio slowly moved back into their mansion though, Leopold said to his sons;

"I’m really proud of the men you’re becoming"

Glancing over to their Dad, the youths watched as a proud smile adorned his lips, his eyes focused on their mansion.

"Thanks Dad" they both responded after a brief while with light smiles on their faces.

No sooner had that happened, the air just before them flickered for a moment and then, suddenly, a woman with bright-red hair, appeared before them.

Turning around to face them, Leopold who was shocked by the sudden phenomenon, watched as his sons just stared at her unfazed.

"I presume you must’ve met my sisters then?" she said to the two youths who simply nodded their heads.

"Well then, I’m sure you’ve also been informed that we’ll be training you for the next few months" she spoke again, soliciting another nod from the two youths.

"Ah. I apologize for not properly introducing myself" the enigmatic woman then said once she realized Leopold had no idea whom she was.

"Hello. My name’s Ashildr Valkyrie" she smiled as she extended a handshake.

"Pleasure to meet you"
