Extra And MC-Chapter 182 - 178 - Prelude, Amael’s Request
Staring at the dark red cracks in the sky, the vast expanse of it painted in an eerie shade of reddish hue as the grotesque-looking creatures came out of it and populated it, Xavier glanced over to see his elder brother staring at it with a pretty casual expression.
The young adult, wondered what was going through his mind but decided not to question as he needed his own entire concentration to maintain the spell he was casting.
Presently, the Valkyries were going at the dastardly creatures on full throttle, obliterating as much of them as they could within the confines of what their physical abilities allowed.
’This truly is a suicidal shithole I’ve dug myself into…’ Amael on the other hand internally sighed, although his outward expression was as calm as the undulating waves of the sea.
’With these numbers, I may as well be prepared to die…’ he continued his thoughts with another inward sigh, watching as the number of the vile creatures only seemed to be increasing by the second despite the Valkyries best efforts.
Dismissing those thoughts for now though, Amael began to ponder over something else, a pretty thoughtful expression settling on his features despite the grim situation.
"Grandmaster! Grandmaster! The demons are here!" a few elderly disciples from the sect came running with disheveled appearances, their expressions beyond terrified, and panic, evident in their exaggerated mannerisms.
"I can see that obviously" Amael casually responded whilst still musing over something else, causing the disciples to wonder if their Grandmaster was even taking the dire situation serious.
Although they knew he did a shit job at being a leader, this wasn’t the time for him to leave it all to his younger brother as he usually did and be so lax.
In no less than a few minutes since the demon’s arrival, towns had been obliterated, cities demolished and casualties, numbered in the thousands, if not hundreds of thousands.
"Get all the youngest disciples of the sect to the underground chambers. Morrigan and the others are already doing the best they can to push them back for now so get to it!"
"As for the elder disciples, have them setup their strongest barrier magic over the entirety of the sect!" Xavier on the other hand ordered with a solemnity to his tone.
"Yes Vice Master Xavier!" the disciples, seemingly noticing the two strongest humans were still maintaining their cool despite the horrifying situation, did the same for themselves.
’If those two are alive! We’ll definitely win again!’ they all inwardly chanted and sprang into action.
In a jiffy, they were already out the courtyard and off to do as they were told, leaving the courtyard to both individuals.
Not even a second after though, a certain, loud, rippling and echoing sound of a gong, travelled across the entire expanse of the sect, informing everyone who heard it that evacuation was a priority.
Swiftly, the sect became rowdy as the weaker and younger disciples were panicking and in a hurry to reach the underground chambers.
"Hurry!"
"Don’t fall behind!"
"Make sure the young ones are safe!"
The elder disciples on the other hand, immediately did as they were told, judging by the multiple layers of barriers that swiftly encased the entire sect over a kilometer radius.
As all these was still happening, the cracks in the sky was only getting bigger and bigger, with more and more hordes of demons pouring out of it and yet, Amael still kept thinking to himself.
"Give me a fragmented chunk of your most useless memories before you go" he suddenly requested, causing his younger brother to warily stare at him even in the midst of the unfavorable situation they were in.
Just before them was a spatial portal of sorts that led to the future, one that was gently pulsing as it rapidly drained Xavier of all of his Aether.
"Uh what?!" Xavier’s perplexity was just as perplexed, causing him to blink his eyes a few times in confusion.
"We don’t have much time. You can do it right? With your [Series]? Hand it over" Amael casually requested again and Xavier frowned.
"We’re here" Morrigan blinked into existence just before them, causing the attention of the two brothers to shift over.

Along with her arrival were her other sisters Sigrun and Senya, with Ashildr holding onto a massive golden egg she had gone to retrieve just a few seconds ago.
"We’ve held on for as long as we can but unfortunately, that’s all we can manage because, you know, the plan…" Senya pointed out, her hands gesturing towards the portal.
"It’s alright. You’ve done more than enough" Amael smiled at all four, a gaze of respect in his eyes.
"Are you all ready?" Xavier on the other hand, questioned as he stabilized the portal.
"Yeah" Sigrun was the first to answer, after which she then moved close to the portal.
Just before she walked in though, she turned around to face Amael and said;
"We’d better see you hale and hearty in the future"
"That you will. I promise" Amael lied with a convincing smile.
Nodding her head, seemingly convinced, Sigrun let out a deep breath and then, stepped through the portal.
Senya followed after, giving Amael a hug before she left as she said;
"Take care of yourself"
"I most definitely will" he returned the hug as he watched her leave a few seconds after.
"It’d be a shame if our youngest sister never got to know you. Make sure you stay alive" Ashildr, holding the golden egg in her hand with a lot of delicacy, said to Amael.
"I’m gonna be the best uncle there ever was" he winked, causing Ashildr to chuckle a bit before leaving too.
And now, it was just Morrigan left amongst her sisters.
"You’re not coming back alive… are you?" she calmly stated, saying the exact words her other sisters had been too afraid to say.
"I do not know…" Amael honestly responded, his previously calm façade crumbling to reveal the immensely solemn expression on his features.
"But I’ll try. I’ll try to stay alive… however I can…" he said with a determined gaze.
Seeing this, Morrigan nodded slightly and proceeded to go through the portal.
She wasn’t one to speak much but she was probably the most concerned about Amael amongst all of her sisters.
That was just the kind of person she was. Aloof and calm, and yet, the most compassionate and resolute amongst them all.
Even though she had also been a major supporter of this borderline insane plan they had settled on, she had been willing to go through with it because she had a lot of faith in Amael and his determination to bring about the best possible outcome for the sake of Arcanora’s survival.
Just before she entered through the portal though, she spoke over her shoulder;
"I’ll make sure to keep the future generations strong as you’ve said… however I can… even if that means I’ll be a necessary evil"
No sooner had she said that, the Valkyrie stepped into the portal and she was gone, millenniums into the future.
"Now I have no idea what you even need it for but I trust your judgement. I always have, and I always will" Xavier handed over what seemed to be a younger clone of himself, barely the size of a ball to Amael.
It seemed almost like an inanimate toy of sorts even, but with flesh and skin instead of plastic.
And, judging by the gentle white hue surrounding it, it was obvious that it was so much more.
Just like Amael had requested, it was a fragmented composition of Xavier’s most useless memories.
"Thanks little brother" Amael warmly smiled as he absorbed the fragmented memories into himself while explaining vaguely;
"I might just find a way to contact you with this in future. Fingers crossed though"
"Yeah. Of course" Xavier waved it off without reading too much into it.
Even if he did, it’s not like he would understand how his brother was planning to do it anyway.
"Oh and make sure to keep the Celestial orbs extra safe. I’ve established a soul linkage to them so wherever they are, I can always infuse more energy into it. Hopefully we find someone who can use it someday" Amael lightly clapped his hands as he said.
"I will" Xavier nodded in response, an understanding expression on his face.
There was a bit of silence after that as both brothers, simply gazed at each other with familial warmth.
A few seconds after though, Xavier broke the silence.
"If eventually, you end up failing, I’ll keep resetting the world until we find anyway to win completely" he declared, a resolute expression on his features.
"I trust in your judgement" Amael gave a short but familiar reply, one that caused Xavier to smile a bit.
Turning his gaze to the sky, Xavier then watched as a particularly larger crack, far bigger than the rest, opened to reveal four distinct races of species with their King, Beelzebub, casually leading them at the forefront.
"That’s your cue little brother. Go!" Amael swiftly turned around, the Aether around him agglomerating to form Aerion, his signature weapon.
Nodding at that command, Xavier, just before walking through the portal, glanced over once more to watch Amael already leaping to the skies.
Etching that final sight of his elder brother into his very being, the man stepped into the portal with a resolute expression and never looked back.
