Extra And MC-Chapter 185 - 181 - Femme Fatale
(Two weeks later…)
Solaris.
The second biggest nation of in all of Arcanora.
Renowned for its lush and vibrantly green landscapes, the nation served as the hub for advanced agriculture.
As a result, despite being a nation that would rather stay away from the world’s troubles due to their love for peace, order and tranquility, they were, ultimately, still the nation with the most connections to other nations.
From rolling hills, to fertile plains, dense forests and clear, shimmering rivers and sparkling lakes, Solaris’s climate was also mild and temperate.
Rainfall was plentiful and the sunshine was always abundant, making way for a wide variety of crops and rare plants to flourish under its perfect conditions.
Verdancia especially, its capital city, was the central hub for Solaris’s massive agricultural industry.
Unlike any other city all across Arcanora’s other nations, Verdancia’s modern skyscrapers are adorned with sprawling walls of thin vines while its urban streets are lined with towering trees and colorful beds.
It was also due to this reason that hover cars were banned in Solaris as they didn’t take kindly to the flying vehicles crashing into their painstakingly, well-nurtured trees.
It was an incident that happened more often than not in the past so a law had been passed to stop them from operating by the nation’s democratic technocracy.
This governing body was made up of a council of elected officials, all of whom were top agricultural scientists, professors and magitech engineers called the Verdant Stewards.
That being said, Verdancia also housed the Grand Agrarian Institute, the leading center for agricultural research and innovation.
Scientists, researchers, magitech engineers and interns, all of whom would were required to wear lab coats, usually filled it’s sprawling grounds, glass-house greenhouses and industrial buildings every day, working hand in hand to innovate and make revolutionary breakthroughs and products.
Well, usually, that would’ve been the case…
"R-R-Run!!!"
"Evacuate the premises now!!"
"Someone contact The Tower!!!"
An irregular fissure broke out in the middle of the institute, two vampires, three orcs and an elf, coming out of it with murderous intent!
"(Ah yes! Human blood!)"
"(Krrh…Krrh… Kill humans…)"
"(Don’t spare a single one of them!)"
Despite being unable to comprehend the language they were speaking, everyone ran helter-skelter as pandemonium ensued, knowing fully well that they had been marked for death.
"N-N-No!!!"
"Please don’t ki- Ahhh!!!"
As a sea of white rushed out of the massive institute, a few unfortunate souls were mercilessly murdered as their terrified shrills and screams filled the air, causing the situation to become even more intense and dire.
"Arrgh!" an elderly man in his late sixties screamed in agony.
He had fallen down whilst trying to run, someone stomping on his ankle and fracturing it amidst the stampede of panic-stricken humans.
Realizing that he was screwed, the man could only watch with terror in his eyes as one of the vampires approached him with a malicious glint in its eyes, its fangs and claws, drawn out to do the deed.
"No. No please! I beg of you. I have a wife and three kids waiting at home!" the man pleaded with terrified gaze, tears streaming down his eyes as the vampire inched ever closer with an unnatural tilt of his head and a sadistic smile, almost as if playing with its prey to get an even more intense reaction from it.
"(Squirm blood bag!)" the Vampire soon replied with a wicked glint in his eyes, his claws already descending to severe the man’s head.
Closing his eyes in fear and accepting his fate, the man hoped his wife and kids would forgive him for leaving so early.
-Twoosh-!!
-Kach-!!
"(Arrrggghhhh!!!)" the Vamp screamed in agonizing pain as a deadly arrow, shot through his head and left a gaping hole in it, exploding a chunk of its brain matter and splattering it all over the old man.
Just before the mixture of blood and brains hit him though, a wall of rosy vines jutted out from the ground to encase the man in a protective sphere.
At the exact same time, four young ladies, all of whom had arrived at the scene and were each strikingly beautiful in their own right, conversed between themselves as the assailants turned their attention towards them.
"Honestly, among all the races, I think I hate the vampires the most" the young lady with striking orange hair amongst her group, let out a tired comment.
"(I’ll kill you!)" the bloodsucker turned his murderous gaze towards her, seemingly realizing that her words were directed towards him as the gaping hole in his head rapidly healed up.
"Tell me about it. They’re such creeps" the ruby-eyed lady retrieved her bladed-whip while responding to Ivelia, purposely ignoring whatever ancient language the vamp was speaking in.
"(I want the plump, sexy one. Her blood will be delicious)" the second vamp, licked her lips with a predatory gaze as she stared at Caroline.
"We’d better deal with them before the ’pros’ arrive" Beatrice passively commented, her fiery-red hair blowing in the wind as she simultaneously casted a fiery spell of blazing azure flames.
To this, the elf amongst the assailants, cast a similar spell of his own, an eerie green flame which flickered with shades of crimson as he calmly stated to his other assailants;
"(The red hair is mine)"
"(Krr… The brown hair. Kill!)" the leader of the orcs, pointed his primitive looking axe at the last lady.
"I’ll need constant back up but I’ve got the orcs!" Amelia’s brown eyes scrutinized their enemies, sweat pulling down her chin as she declared.
The murderous tension between the two parties was palpable, all of them staring at their respective enemies.
The next second after that, the tension exploded and a full on battle broke out in the Institute.
Powerful spells were casted and weapons clashed as sparks flew everywhere.
"(Come down and face me!)" the vamp whom was still angered at Ivelia’s ambush, launched himself at breakneck speed towards her.
Having taken a good vantage position on one of the broken pillars during the assailants’ initial rampage, Ivelia remained focused as she pulled back on the taut bowstring of her high-tech war bow, an intangible, thin sphere of golden light forming on it.
’{Spectral Art – First Form: Solar Burst}’
-Woosh-! Woosh-!! Woosh-!!!
Releasing three rapid, golden, mana-based arrow from her bow, each of them traversing at a speed untraceable to the naked eye, the bloodsucker deflected it all with pinpoint accuracy.
-Pang-! Pang-!! Pang-!!!
Feeling the muscles in his scaly arm slightly spasming due to the surprisingly heavy weight of the mana-infused arrow, the vampire closed the gap between he and Ivelia in a heartbeat.
"(I’ve got you human!)" he screamed in victory as his sharpened, pointed fingernails, neared her neck in the fraction of a second, inches away from ripping through the fleshy skin.
The Vamp knew that even though the lady was able to injure him, she didn’t have the same level of speed the other ladies had as they battled his comrades.
And truly, he was right, because despite the three other ladies nearing high-tier A-rank, Ivelia herself was just about to break through from B-rank to A-rank.
That was also why the Vamp, had been sure of his victory.
However, as if biding her time, Ivelia pressed a button on her war bow and instantly, a small puff of smoky substance, descended upon the bloodsuckers face, effectively slowing down his movement speed.
No.
It wasn’t that his speed had slowed down. Rather, he had suddenly gotten drowsy due to the puffy substance.
Trying to hold himself together, his clawed fingernails merely grazing Ivelia’s neck, he watched as the lady, without even giving him time to recover, casted a spell;
’[Earth Series: Crystalline Construct]’
In an instant, Ivelia’s hand launched forward towards the vampire’s heart at a blurring speed as dust particles agglomerated on it, effectively turning into a sharpened edge of crystal, akin to stalagmite.
-Kach-!
-Spurt-!!!
Just like that, light went out of the vampire’s eyes, the last thought on his mind being how he had let down his guard and underestimated his enemy due to his injured pride and blind rage.
Wiping the blood that had sprayed on her face, Ivelia’s cold, battle-focused eyes, never wavered for a single moment.
Quickly, she focused on the three orcs which were ganging up on Amelia, her bowstring already being pulled backwards to aid the lady who was barely keeping up with their onslaught of attacks.
’(Vanicus died?!)’ the vampire whom was battling with Caroline, glanced over to the dead body of her friend for a split second, her disbelief evident.
But that only lasted for a brief moment as even she, if she so much as lost concentration for a split moment, would find herself dead in moment.
-Pang-!
"Oh~. So you know how it feels to lose a fellow race?" Caroline slyly commented when she noticed the brief change in her assailant’s facial expressions.
"(Trying to rile me up will get you nowhere human)" Lithel replied, her claw deflecting another strike from the lady.
Both individuals were launching a flurry of attacks at each other as they exchanged words, their speed of attacks blitzing fast.
-Pang-! Pang-!! Pang-!!!
Even if Lithel didn’t understand a single word Caroline was saying, she had a strong grasp on what the lady was trying to do.

’(Anger in battle is for fools!)’ she placated herself, although the anger was simmering beneath like a whistling kettle of hot water.
Unfortunately for her though, Caroline was never trying to rile her up in the first place.
Rather, she had employed that slight moment of distraction the lady bloodsucker before her had used to glance over at her dead comrade to discreetly cast a spell.
And by the time Lithel realized that Caroline had only spoken to draw her attention away from the rosy vines that had firmly entrapped her legs, it was too late.
"Die" the ruby-eyed lady coldly spat, her whip coiling like a deadly snake as it drove straight into the back of the bloodsucker and headed straight for a vampire’s weakness.
The heart.
-Kach-!!
-Spurt-!!!
