Qilos’s Republic’s capital, Frostfall, given enough time, was a place that Aiden and Flynn would’ve loved to stick around for much longer and explore.

Or maybe, to a certain extent, both of them, had become so used to the constant chilly atmosphere here that they were, ever-so-slightly, dreading the return to Arcadia’s mostly warm climate.

That said, Frostfall was a stunningly beautiful capital city.

The way its medium-heighted buildings were constructed from sturdy granite, along with its rooftops which were adorned with the occasional ice sculptures here and there, a feat that could only be maintained due to the nation’s immensely cold climate, gave the city a somewhat sophisticated yet enchanting ambience.

Along with that were the people who roamed about the busy streets, dressed in a mixture of full-on eskimo-esque yet very modern outfits, insulated winter coats, or long-sleeved thermal shirts, all of which served to further drive home the wintry atmosphere.

Even the vehicles that roamed the streets here, had mini snow-piercers built into the tires for traction and better friction as they glided across the streets.

As for Hover cars, well, there was no rule banning it.

But, unless you were very kin on wanting to drive in poor visibility or were just straight up stupid, that was when you’d opt to drive one and risk an accident, one that the Frostbound Senate, the governing body and also legal authorities et al of Qilos Republic in general, would be all too happy to heavily fine the culprit for.

All that aside though, there were also interesting sights and landmarks to visit in the wintry nation like the Boreal Forest and Icefall Glaciers, just to name a few.

Added to all that, the Nothern Lights, which happened only once a year here, was a sight to behold at nightfall, a phenomenon that was mostly known and referred to, more by its actual name here as the Aurora Borealis.

Tonight in fact, was the night where it was supposed to grace the wintry skies of the nation.

But unfortunately, the youths couldn’t stick around for too long to watch that happen.

They’d already toured the nation for about thirty minutes when they had arrived and would rather not miss their portal jump session which they had booked down at the spaceport.

That said, as the brothers finally made their way over to the Spaceport, they glanced at each other with a curious expression, wondering if Evie had really done as they told her.

However, without reading too much into it, they quickly followed through with all the necessary procedures.

"Thank you for using Frostfall’s Spaceport!" a young lady in her late twenties, said to them while handing over their tickets.

"Thanks." they both responded in unison, Flynn’s eyes lingering on the lady’s face for a brief second.

Notwithstanding, they made their way over to the scanning room, one that would ensure they weren’t illegal immigrants or terrorists or members of a dark organization.

Soon, after that was done, they stood before their assigned teleportation portal, ready to walk through it and return to Arcadia.

A few seconds later, they casually made their way through the portal.

However, ’unknown’ to them, the ticket-handling lady, after ensuring they were out of vicinity and were about to walk through the portal, gently tapped on her ear ring and whispered in fear;

"It’s done. Their coordinates have been disrupted. I’ve done as you’ve asked. So please, I beg of you, release my son."

Waiting for a response from the other end, the lady’s rapidly beating heart, was soon calmed, ever-so-slightly when she heard a sweet, melodic tone, one that also had a hint of eeriness to it, come from the other end of the phone.

"Good job~. I’ll release your son, just like I promised~!"

* * *

Stepping out of the other end of the portal, Aiden and Flynn, widened their eyes in confusion when the portal behind them, immediately went bust, flickering on and off till it stopped working.

But that wasn’t the main issue because soon, they realized they weren’t where they were supposed to be at.

The terrain before them was rocky, its expanse barren and devoid of greenery for about a few hundred meters.

Added to that, they were both in a lower depression of the terrain, the edges of the small crater they were in surrounded on all sides by familiarly-dressed individuals.

"Obelisk…" Aiden hissed at the sight while Flynn sucked in a deep breath.

No sooner had they done that, they watched as all the individuals present, extended their palms forward, seemingly ready to cast a spell to bombard them from all sides.

And then, as if to add to the precariousness of the situation, a certain voice, one Flynn and Aiden had never heard before but could effectively guess just from their knowledge of the story, cascaded over to their ears.

"Welcome~! Welcome~! Do you like the surprise?!" Quinn Sirius asked in his usual, signature, unsettling tone, a mixture of excitement yet creepy.

To that Aiden and Flynn’s gaze darkened, one that Quinn was all too happy to witness.

"Oh don’t look at me like that~. You’re making me excited~!" he wiggled around in a somewhat disturbing way, one that only served to bolster Aiden and Flynn’s alertness.

"Ah~. Finally, I get to battle with you two~" he then stated a few minutes after, sliding down from the top of the crater’s elevation.

Walking over to them, his hand spread out, Quinn kept speaking;

"I just couldn’t help myself you know~!"

"First you disrupt Rigurd’s plans, then you destroy Magnus’s Railgun and finally, you even defeated Rigurd! Isn’t that exciting~?!" he exclaimed, his arms spread out wide like a conductor in an orchestra.

"I just had to have my turn you know~! Those two have never agreed to battle with me even once despite all my requests but you two…" his voice trailed off, eerily shifting over to a very sinister one as he continued;

"You forced their hands…"

"And you won."

To that, Flynn and Aiden, maintained their darkened gaze, not willing to say a thing.

"Hmmm…" Quinn tilted his head.

"Are you perhaps worried that they’ll interfere?" he asked, gesturing to the people surrounding the small yet fairly wide crater.

"Oh they’re just there for decoration. They’re there, just to ensure, that you do not escape."

Snapping his fingers the moment he finished that statement, all the Obelisk members encircling the crater, casted multiple layers of barrier spells, each of them an A-rank spell.

Considering the different barriers numbered in tens, even if one was an SS-rank, smashing through all of them in a single blow, was going to be quite the hurdle.

Coupled with the fact that both youths now also had to defend themselves from a high-tier SS-ranker, they were, quite literally, cornered.

"I won’t make the same mistakes Magnus and Rigurd did." Quinn added definitively, enjoying the hint of fear, present in the darkened gaze of the two youths.

However, just as he was about to have them attack him first by giving them the first move, he watched as Aiden and Flynn, softened their darkened gazes considerably.

And then, in a shocking turn of events, Quinn, along with all the other Obelisk members, watched in deep perplexity as the two youths burst into a hearty round of laughter.

The Obelisk Arm especially, was the most confused, his train of thoughts unable to keep up with what was happening.

’What’s… going here…’ he inwardly asked himself, his perplexity unresolved.

"That was quite amusing to watch. He really took the bait hook, line and sinker…" Flynn soon spoke after he and Aiden’s laughter had died down.

"I know right? And I have to say, this is quite the elaborate plan he cooked up." Aiden commented with an impressive nod.

However, Quinn himself, unwilling to be perturbed by the sudden change in scenario, maintained his composure.

"It doesn’t matter what you’re up to." he casually stated as he retrieved his daggers.

"Your plans can go to shit for all I care…" he added.

"I still have enough time to do whatever I want before whatever you have planned kicks in…" his voice trailed off as he twirled the weapons in his hands with experienced and skillful mannerisms.

Stopping the skillful movements, the deadly gaze in his crimson-red eyes now trained on them with a wicked smile accompanying it, Quinn declared, his signature melodic way of speaking returning;

"Because unfortunately, you’re still, presently, trapped in here, with me~!"

Sighing as they noticed this, Aiden and Flynn turned around, facing him as they each took turns speaking.

"Well, that’s where you’re wrong Sirius Quinn…" Aiden casually stated, snapping his fingers.

Instantly, Quinn found himself, right where the youth previously was, not a single wave of mana emanating from whatever magic he had used.

"We’re not trapped in here with you…" he snapped his fingers again and this time, Quinn found himself outside of the barrier while an Obelisk member, switched places with him.

Instantly, panic settled on the goon’s face as he watched Flynn sock him a brutal punch that knocked him out cold.

-Thwack-!

"Unfortunately though…" Flynn was the one to speak this time, a clone of him appearing right beside Quinn who now had the realization dawning upon him.

Instantly, he tried to slash downwards, aiming to draw blood!

-Whish-!

But once again, he heard the frustrating sound of a snapped finger again!

-Snap-!

This time, his dagger which was whistling through the air with a powerful force came to an instant halt, right before Flynn who was effortlessly holding onto the edges of the blade as he completed his statement, a glint of amusement in his eyes;

"You’re trapped in here, with us."
