Extra's Path To Demon King-Chapter 96: Two Monsters
Chapter 96: Two Monsters
Unfortunately, some things can only ever be resolved through blood and death. Even if Ken Dusker turned into the kindest man in existence, he needs to die, not for what he did, but for what his mother did. He will absolutely die, in the worst way possible, when the time comes.
The professor clapped again to garner everyone’s attention back to the topic of the class, he had given 5 minutes for everyone to form a circle of minimum three, no upper limits. Some were not able to form groups of three it seems, so he did some rearrangements.
The professor spoke, "Now, what we will do here is light sparring. In your group, at once one person will attack the rest who will be huddled together, and they can only defend while the attacker tries his best to break the defenses of the others."
"After that, you will give evaluations to others on how the attacker could attack better and the defender could defend better, that kind of suggestions. I will keep an eye on all the groups. After the whole thing is over, I will give an evaluation to each of you myself."
When the professor finished talking, Axel and three others in his group began to discuss on who should be the first attacker. Heinz agreed to be first one with no drama needed.
Heinz activated the Warlord aspect, and a savage aura surrounded him as his presence changed.
Axel also learned the aspects of Vyra and Lumina. She was actually an Arcane Runecaster. He really didn’t pay attention to her during the inspection. Wait a damn, minute, is that why that those two let her come here. He initially thought that since the two were being looked down on by those from the other kingdoms, they needed some space to teach them a lesson, or maybe Lumina just came to him to apologize on behalf of Ken.
But now those reasons doesn’t seem to be the case, since he was the currently most talented runecaster. Though, it was mostly an assumption by the vice principal, it was true nonetheless. So, she could indeed benefit a lot just by being with him. Axel didn’t mind honestly.
Who would refuse to spend quality time with an innocent and pretty beauty? Though he could only silently pray he would not be killed by the prince or the valkyrie because of getting too close to the princess. Lol.
As for Vyra, she seems to be Aurauser + Alchemist.
The combat practice was supposed to be done by everyone by using their warrior branch of aspect. But he could not simply switch to his second aspect. Though he would not transform and remain the same. The shift in his nature would be too abrupt. He had already tested it alone, it would not take too long for the professor, valkyrie and Lucian to sense that there was indeed something wrong.
So, he didn’t intend to activate his second aspect for pretty much any of the situations in the academy. Heck, just his Runic Swordsmen skill was enough in 90% of the situations. Axel poured his mana onto the age-old, rusty-looking runic sword.
Unfortunately, as it may be, it seems he has lost all mastery over the runic languages, as far as he knew some mechanics of the runic magic and the specific runic symbols or concepts within the runic language, is a bit different in Eldarion. Not all, but some of them is different.
So, he would have to master all of it from the start.
And since mastering those likely will not be a significant challenge for him, the world Will of the Eldarion continent will create a new type of difficult challenge for him within his Primary aspect chamber in the Sanctum.
He focused back on Heinz, who was done coating his sword with his unique war aura.
He was wielding a large sword; unfortunately for him, Axel knew the details of that particular aspect, and it was extremely strong. But the Warlord aspect thrived in the midst of war, when leading an innumerable number of armies under a single leadership. The more people you lead to battle, the more they are subservient to your commands, the greater boost in power you receive, and so does the number of people under your command.
But its weakness is also obvious, which is that when fighting alone, the aspect isn’t particularly helpful. Of course, that doesn’t exactly mean that it is weak either. Coating the large sword in his savage war aura, tinged with malice. He charged forward and attacked Axel, who was the vanguard.
Vyra and Lumina were both in the background to support him. Vyra threw in some arrows from time to time to halt Heinz’s attacks, and Lumina, with her both aspects being in the magic branch, was designated to simply cast support-type spells or cast defensive shields in between their clashes. Not that Axel actually needed help from either of the two in the first place.
Since Axel needed to memorize and master then create the polygon circle formations again in this world, little by little, to get to the stage of runic studies he was once at. For that reason, he was initially unable to light up the rune engraved in the sword, but because of his
’Absolute Runecaster’ title and ’Runic Swordsmen’ skill helped him forcefully light up the rune, at least partially. The effect the runic symbol was supposed to have wasn’t working.
He was basically empowering the sword and making it work like a blunt brute. Even so, normally, that would not be a problem; he would normally just turn his killing intent into a liquid-like form and then coat the sword with it, increasing its power to a tremendously high degree. But guess what, he couldn’t do that in Eldarion, it was harder to simply project all of his killing intent, let alone transform it into liquid. freёnovelkiss.com
He suspected that its not the fact that he can’t do it, rather his level of power in the Eldarion continent was too low for now, he didn’t have the power tamper to with the natural restrictions of this world yet, when he is able to do that though, he should be able transform his bloodlust again.
He performed a side slash with the sword, and quite easily blocked the attack.
’Hm, it seems Heinz isn’t pulling his punches, this guy has good instincts, he knows I’m strong,’ thought Axel.
But there was a visible shock on Heinz’s face seeing how effortlessly Axel had blocked the attack, the same surprise appeared on the faces of Lumina and Vyra. Axel cursed internally, ’Damn it.’
He wasn’t dealing with Lucien or the valkyrie, his natural strength was too great and almost double compared to those in the same level. He made it look too easy, especially for a runecaster. That should not have happened.
Heinz attacked again with more fury, and this time Axel did not make it so effortless anymore. He still showed relative ease in blocking the attacks, so much so that Lumina and Vyra were not needed for help anymore. It was still something unbelievable to see that someone was matching against a warlord aspect with just their Runecaster aspect without using their countless stash of weapons, and it was in a sword fight nonetheless.
More and more people were paying attention to this particular practice, mainly towards Axel. Eventually, Heinz stopped and looked at him dubiously. The professor had also paid attention to how very easily Axel had blocked the attacks.
Thankfully for Axel, most people weren’t paying attention to him, Lucien was fighting against the princes and heirs of the other two great kingdoms, and he apparently told them to attack him together as well, instead of simply defending. Now, that was a spectacle to watch.
Because of the Gold Dragons’ blood coursing through his veins, Lucien’s strength and mana pool, as well as efficiency in magic, were apparently greater than his, though the gap should not be too big. Lucien was utterly thrashing all of them. Even Axel felt embarrassed for those poor arrogant princes. No doubt Lucien’s stepbrothers encouraged the other princes to do so.
As for the Valkyrie’s group, it was already over. She instantly told the princess’s or heirs of the various families to attack her with all of their strongest attacks together. From what he saw, they were strong as well, resilient too. But with a simple performance of a sword technique, which almost seemed like an elegant dance more than an attack. All 10 of her opponents dropped unconscious and slightly injured, but it wasn’t anything severe.
Every single student simply looked at her with their jaws dropped, all the male students became even more terrified and vowed in their hearts to never dare look at her badly or bother her, ever. That level of strength was simply inhumane. And that was but a single effortless movement of the sword from her; she did not even coat her sword in saint force or mana, just the simple brunt sword it was.
Compared to those feats, Axel being able to block Heinz’s attack easily only looked comical at best, and only a few select students even noticed this particular detail, and he was thankful for that. He really needed to be more careful not to expose too much of his strength. Considering the things that are going to happen in the future and the things he would need to do, getting less attention is better, at least when it comes to his combat prowess.
As long as he isn’t seen as a monster on the same level as the prince, the valkyrie ,and Heinz in the near future, it should be ok, he surmised.
