"The extermination party is back!"

The knight at the front of the village yelled out. Figures of the group of knights approaching became clearer and clearer.

However, when the knight was visible, the one in the village was alarmed. Blood flowed from every knights as their bodies tattered with bandage.

"Call the priest!"

Not only did they get injured, the arrived knights were a few members shorter than when they set out. One of the three priests is also missing.

It was a brutal sight for the people in the village to see.

The priest quickly checked if they were real and still human. After that, they brought the injured inside the village and healed them.

Out of the five priests that came with them, three were healing priests, and two were combat priests. The one that didn’t make it back was the combat priests.

After hearing the condition of the party, Reeva quickly made his way to one of the local houses that became a temporary church.

Inside, many were lined up in the living room, and soem were brought to another. The priest worked over time. Squeezing every bit of faith to heal the worst of the injuries.

"What happend?"

Reeva sked in surprise after seeing the condition of the sun god people.

"Your holiness, the injured couldn’t be healed!" One if the preists yelled, no matter how much mystic power he used, the wound just won’t close. Reeva looked over and saw that the graping red wound inside the knight’s body had a little bit of black green sustace inside.

Reeva quickly checked the knight’s condition by placing his hand on the part without his armor. The cold spread all over the knight’s body.

His control of the coldness improved drasticly after his time in Tumidus. The wound is easily covered by his senses.

The damn thing is covered in mytic power!

"Have you tried healing it!?"

The words left his mouth, and Reeva realized that it’s a dump question. However, one could not fault Reeva for this situation; the best way to deal with mystic power is to push another in its way.

"Sir, we’ve already..."

"I know!"

Reeva shouted; he looked at the guy lying on the floor again. His wound is getting worse.

"Argh, please help me."

The knight goan. He could not keep his pain inside him anymore. It’s growing every second. Reeva made a swift decision to use his power.

The sun god would be proud of his action. He just had to endure a bit of a strange look from the sun god follower.

His hand activated the power. Thick goo on the wound evaporated. The act drew weird eyes from the sun god, followed as they realized that this was not the sun god power.

However, Reeva cut the confusion short.

"Heal him!"

The preist acted fast and put his hand over the wound. Pale yellow eminate from his hand, the gnarly wound quickly closes up.

Reeva heaved a sign; the person had the deepest wound among them all; he would have died with Reeva sitting and doing nothing.

"Apotle, that is..."

"Shut up for a sec, what happened?"

The priest composed himself and told the story. The hunting expedition was going great; in the first hour, they found 3 mutated deer.

Their face is as horrifying as the people repoeted. Then they killed all of the deer with archery. The tough skin gave way after 10 arrows. It is enough to say that these deer are not normal.

With the deer dead, the petyr morale shot up. Quin led then deeper into the forest while poking in the ground to find the spreader.

It took a while, but they found one. It was nestled under tree roots and had a small opening for them to breathe. The knights and priest dare not mess around with mystic creatures and do as instructed.

Quin lit the fire for them. The pale yellow flames jumped from his hand to the torch, and they threw it down.

Scream escape from the hole. It was similar to a baby crying but had this intensity and brittleness to the sound.

That was when all hell broke loose. A deer army would be an understatement; the deer hourd is much more suitable.

All of them warped to a horrifying degree, and all of them charged in. Quin immediately orders a retreat; there is simply too much creature for him to deal with.

The party ran down the moatian side, trying to outpace the horde while Quin and the priest held most of them.

They could only wish that they had brought the hours. Their four-leg friend didn’t like to go on the mountainside, where Terria is most difficult.

So they had no choice but to run on foot. Many of the injuries were just them falling down the mountain, but half of them got attacked by countless deer.

Quin, even with all of his power, couldn’t stall them. The priest ran as fast as they could until, sometime later, the deer stopped chaising.

Then they return to the village in this state.

Reeva nodded after he heard the story. After suveying around, he was able to differentiate the wound that the deer made and the wound from falling down the mountainside.

The dark green goo.

"How much could you heal?"

"About 3 times, sir."

It was clear that they needed way more than that. They had about 7 people that needed healing, including Quin, whose arm was dripping with blood.

Reeva then needs to think. There must be a reason why the mystic power couldn’t be pushed away by the priest healing mystic power.

In that case, there needs to be a supply of mystic power from somewhere that keeps feeding this thing.

Because not only did the wound get worse, some of the mystic power around that area also increased. Which mena something needs to be supplying it or generating it?

Which led into his next question: where would it be coming from?

Reeva’s first thought was the spreade sitting nearby. Already tracked them by using its own mystic power or already right beneath them.

However, if it was right

beneath them, the animal would have wiped this village out long ago. Like other animals, predators have very clear territories, because once the animal is out of their territories, they lose control of the animal, hence why they didn’t chase the grounp down.

That means there are two possibilities: someone or something is supplying the power. or the power is only lingering there.

Reeva then thinks back to who ever could be carrying the power, and he discovers that if he were the spreader, he would have gone for Quin!

If Quin didn’t get a track, he wouldn’t be in contact with the spreader. But the moment he came back when the people said that many died is rather suspicious.

Even if Quin himself didn’t know, Reevs still needed to check.

"Quin, open your arm."

Reeva said with a commanding voice. Quin couldn’t help but look at Reeva; his eyes question the new apotle.

"There’s other injured prist..."

The moment that Quin tried to shift the blame, Reeva knew he hit the jackpot. Quin also knew this was Trie to Sun, but with many knights here, he couldn’t

The knight blocked the exits, and Reeva uses his hand to touch the boies. Absorbing all the power the spreader injected into Quin’s body.

It looks to be a long-range control device that looks like a telescope. It is very different from his previous life. They did not have this kind of tech before.

They tried to escape but got caught first.

Quin was brought back to normal. The priest surrounding him heaved a sigh of relief. The knight too was released from the fate of fighting Quin.

They all knew the power of this mysterious user. Which led them to believe that if they fought each other, most of them would be dead.

"Thank you..."

After the control got released, he thanked Reeva for catching the mystic power. He wouldn’t like to see himself controlled and to his conrade either.

It turns out this is partly the receiving priest’s fault. He let Quin in too easily, just because he was a captain and injured.

Luckily he only got off with a slap on the wrist since they needed every body they could get.

"Apostle, I’m afaid..."

"Yes, we need to leave the village now; bring the villager too!"

Just from the description, if that amount of mutnat dear were to clash into the village, they would have a very hard time fending them off.

Then would be ran over because there’s no way of seperating the outside from the inside. Setting up a defensive position here is like sucide.

Plus, if the mystic power from Quin’s arm got dispersed, that might be another call for the deer to swarm them.

"Apotle bad news! We are being surrounded!"

He was one step too slow.
