Extreme Cold Era: Shelter Don't Keep Waste-Chapter 863 - 92:
The Minotaur monster swung its battle axe to cleave open the door of Goldsmith Street's shelter, charging out like an unstoppable bulldozer.
The moment the battle axe swung, the heavy metal door was torn apart like paper, fragments flying everywhere and emitting an ear-piercing clash of metal.
However, the door of the shelter evidently did not permit the towering figure of the Minotaur monster, more than ten meters tall, to easily exit. Even though the door was shattered, the Minotaur monster still smashed the bricks and architectural structure around the shelter entrance into rubble as it barreled out.
Its body was mountain-like in size, each step causing the ground to tremble, as if the entire city were groaning beneath its feet.
Walls collapsed, stone pillars fractured, and the entire building structure emitted a mournful creaking under its impact, eventually transforming into ruins. 𝒇𝒓𝙚𝒆𝔀𝓮𝓫𝒏𝓸𝙫𝓮𝓵.𝓬𝙤𝙢
The enormous impact was like a bomb had detonated underground, spraying sky-high debris into the air.
Dust and rubble danced in the sky, obscuring vision, like a sudden sandstorm.
The houses flanking the streets swayed precariously in the aftermath, glass windows shattered, fragments raining down like raindrops.
Once the Minotaur monster charged out, it immediately howled skyward, the sound like an ancient horn, deep and shocking, as if announcing its arrival.
It then pointed the battle axe towards the Floating City, the axe blade gleaming coldly in the sunshine, as though declaring war or issuing a challenge.
"Face me! Blasphemers!" The Minotaur monster's roar reverberated in the air, the sound like thunder claps, shaking all of Langton City.
The sound waves spread out tangibly, causing nearby buildings to quiver slightly, and even the distant Floating City seemed to shudder under the force.
Its voice was filled with anger and disdain, as if mocking those mortals who dared to challenge its authority.
While the Minotaur monster roared, a halo of red light swept through the surrounding district, causing the entire area to 'burn.'
This was the domain of war, the so-called 'burning' was not literal, but a layer of red glow that gave the illusion of flames.
The glow spread like a living thing on the ground, walls, even the air, staining everything blood-red.
But this 'burning' was far more dangerous than literal flames.
Where the red light passed, surviving humans and other living creatures fell into a frenzy, wielding weapons and attacking those around them.
Even the elderly and children flailed their arms and nails at each other, biting and grappling savagely, even gnawing at one another.
As if they would use whatever was available to fight, refusing to stop until death.
Within the red glow, the Minotaur monster's silhouette appeared larger and more sinister, like a War God rising from hell, ready to crush all who resist.
Yet these meant nothing to Perfikot.
She simply locked onto the giant monster through her telescope, her gaze cold and focused, as if the monstrous being before her was merely prey awaiting slaughter.
She promptly issued a command to the artillery department, her voice calm and decisive: "Aim for its head! Fire!"
"Roger! Targeting the head, fire a Godslaying Armor-Piercing Bullet!" The artillery department echoed Perfikot's order loudly, simultaneously passing the command down.
The entire artillery department moved swiftly, soldiers executing their tasks with clean precision, without any delay.
Soldiers in the electromagnetic railgun's firing control room quickly revised the firing coordinates, fingers rapidly tapping the control panels to adjust the barrel angle and energy output.
They then pulled the switch.
As the switch closed, powerful electrical currents were injected into the firing coil and rail of the electromagnetic railgun, the entire cannon emitting a low hum, like a beast poised to strike.
A massive shell, resembling a locomotive, had already been loaded, quietly resting within the rail, awaiting the final command.
With a flicker of blue electricity, the shell shot out of the barrel, releasing a sharp screech.
The sound was like the chirping of a thousand birds, sharp and piercing, causing eardrums to tremble.
But rapidly, the sonic boom of air being torn apart became like rolling thunder.
The entire Floating City seemed to shudder at this moment, the shell's speed nearly exceeding the limits of the naked eye's capture, leaving only a blurred trail in the air.
However, before the sonic boom of the shell tearing through the air reached, the Godslaying Armor-Piercing Bullet had already precisely hit the target.
The Minotaur monster noticed the shell being fired, raising its battle axe to shield itself, only exposing one eye to observe the incoming projectile.
The axe's thick blade acted like an indestructible Shield, positioned between it and the shell.
The exposed eye flickered with caution and ferocity, seemingly evaluating the threat this shell posed.
In the Minotaur monster's view, the shell first flew out of the barrel, wrapped in electric light.
Thereafter, something from the shell scattered outward, seemingly a type of discardable structure. Those fragments carved brief arcs in the air, swiftly flung away by the shell's speed, vanishing from sight.
Upon shedding those unnecessary components, the shell's tip emerged, appearing in the monster's eye as merely a pinpoint.
That dot was minuscule, yet exuded an eerie gleam, like a lethal star, closing in on its face.
The shell's tip sliced through the air, generating intense friction, that pinpoint glowing red.
The red glow resembles a burning meteor, carrying destruction, piercing the monster's line of sight.
Then, this needle-like object approached the Minotaur monster's face, the tip colliding with the battle axe's blade.
At the moment of impact, time seemed to halt for an instant, followed by a massive force warping the surrounding air, forming visible ripples spreading outward.
Dust obscured the Minotaur monster, within the smoke appears to rise a hint of blood mist, difficult to see clearly.
Amid the smoke, a blood mist seemed to ascend, the monster's figure blurred and distorted within, like a swaying mountain.
Perfikot waiting for the dust to settle, she decisively ordered, "Fire three Godslaying Bullets, rapid fire!"
Her gaze stayed locked on the target within the smoke without hesitating.
"Roger, three Godslaying Armor-Piercing Bullets, rapid fire!" following the artillery department's command, the entire loading crew hastily dedicated themselves to their tasks.
Soldiers moved quickly and orderly, another massive shell was pushed into the rail, meanwhile, the cannon's capacitors were swiftly replaced.
The air brimmed with a tense yet efficient atmosphere, as if racing against time every second.
Accompanied by another cry and the sound of torn air, this shell was launched.
The shell cut through the sky, carrying destruction straight towards the target.
Then came the second and third cry.
Three shells successively hit the area where the Minotaur monster had been, the explosions triggering more clouds of dust.
Each explosion caused the ground to tremble, as if the entire city shivered because of it.
This time Perfikot unmistakably saw a blood mist rising within the dust.
This blood mist was thicker than before, like a crimson cloud mass, rising and whirling amidst the dust.
