Chapter 62: Meat in the Park.

"Mmmhh." Bethany moaned with her eyes closed as she chewed on the one of the numerous chunks of beef Theo had mixed for her in a very spicy tomato sauce.

"This is heavenly, Man." She said, with her mouth full.

"Told you." Theo said, taking a huge bit from his own food.

"We should bring the cook to the pack, or you guys could hire he or she at your hotel, I bet you’d make tons from this." She said, taking a bit of her orange juice to help ease a bit of the spiciness.

"Oh trust me, I tried for three years. But she kept saying that people on the streets deserve good food too and, honestly, I have to agree."

"She’s right though. Wealthy people already have a lot of luxury, it’s wise to let the poor have this." She said leaning back in her seat.

"Yeah, it is." He said. "What’s wrong? Why did you stop?"

"Oh no, I haven’t. I’m just taking everything in. I’ve never been to the city before, never tasted their food, or seen much of their people. I just want to take it slow. Besides, this park is really pretty. I’m sure Ethan would have loved it here." She said as she watched a bunch of kids play in the park with their parents and guardians.

"Whose Ethan?" Theo asked, taking a forkful into his mouth.

"The small guy I saved earlier." She said, picking her fork. "There was so much longing in his eyes. I wanted to take him with me but, I’m sure that’s not how things happen here." She said chuckling quietly, stuffing the chunk in her mouth.

"Yes, love. It isn’t. But you might meet him again some day. It’s a small world." He pacified.

"Yeah, I know." She said, her eyes on her plate.

_________

"Damn." Beth exclaimed, leaning back in her seat, trying not to breathe too much with an extremely filled stomach. "That was a lot." She said, her eyes on Theo, who looked unaffected, except for the almost negligible protrusion of his stomach against his black dress shirt.

Man is lucky he’s got fast metabolism.

"Hmm, you look full. We would have to bail on ice cream for today." He teased whilst keeping his face as innocent as possible.

"You wouldn’t dare. I’d chop off your dick." She threatened.

"Oh, baby. You wouldn’t." He said, giving her a sly smile.

"Oh wow." She said chuckling. "And why would you think so?"

"Because, Princess, you want my cock. You can’t chop off something you want." He said, putting up a smug smirk.

"Cocky bastard." She cursed.

"Horny, Princess." He teased, winking at her.

"I’m not horny." She argued, pressing her legs together, completely oblivious to Theo’s plans.

"Yes, ma’am." He said laughing, as she rolled her eyes at him. "But it’s safe to say you enjoyed the meal, right?" He asked.

"You are farming compliments now, huh?" She questioned with arched eyebrows.

"I’m not." He argued, cleaning his mouth for the second time.

"You are lying, Theo. And yes, I did. I wish I could take some home for my parents. Mom loves meat alot, she’d really love this one."

"I think every werewolf loves meat, Princess." Theo pointed, baiting her.

"I know, dumbass. My mom’s love for meat, is on a different level, trust me on this." She explained, finishing every drop of juice in her plastic cup.

"Hmmm, okay then." He said, sitting up. "I believe you’ve rested enough, it’s time to see the city."

"Oh, no. I’m not ready. At all. It still needs to go down."

"It will go down while we walk." He offered.

"I’m wearing heels, remember." She pointed and he nodded in understanding, letting her be.

"You can get the go get the ice cream, though. I’d wait for you."

"Naa, not doing that again."

"Oh, c’mon." She whined, squeezing her face.

"I’m serious. Besides, the place isn’t close, we have to walk there. It’s better that way." He explained.

"Mm, alright." Her attention trained at something behind him.

"What are you looking at?" He asked, making attempt to turn but she stopped him immediately.

"Someone is going to walk up to you soon." She said. "He probably wants to know if it’s really you or someone else."

"Oh. I already know who it is. I smelt him a long time ago." Theo said, readjusting in his seat.

"Okay, but who is he? How do you know him?"

"We used to be business associates. Don’t speak to him. He’s very dangerous. Just stay calm. Please, Princess."

She wasn’t given a chance to respond as the person came up beside them, wearing a smile that sent uneasy chills down her spine.

"Mr Macgyver, I knew it was you I saw." The person said, stretching forth his arm, which Theodore took as he stood up.

"Mr Armstrong, fancy seeing you here." Theo clipped, withdrawing his hand.

"Oh, na. Don’t do that now, my friend. I know we might have had a bit of bad blood between us in the past, but I’m sure we can move past that." Armstrong said coyly. "Don’t you think so?"

"I’m afraid the feeling isn’t mutual yet, Mr Armstrong." Theo said, offering a clipped smile, staring dead into the man eyes.

Bethany could see the man’s façade falter for a brief second before he made it look normal again.

"Whatever you want man, you call the shots." Armstrong said, receiving a slight nod from Theo.

A line of uncomfortable silence followed, but neither Theo nor the man said any words, they just looked at each other.

When the older man finally realized that Theo wasn’t backing down, he broke the stare, chuckling.

"How about your brothers? I haven’t seen or heard about them in a while." He said.

"They’ve been busy." Theo clipped, his face stoic, his expression hard.

"Oh, I see." The older man said. "I heard somethings about your company." He baited, watching Theo like a hawk, searching for a string of emotion to hold unto, no matter how small.

"Okay." Theo clipped again, amusement bubbling in his chest, when he saw the vein on the man’s forehead pulse with anger.

Got ya.

Seeing as the younger man wasn’t interested in carrying on any distant conversations, Armstrong decided to play his trump card.

"So, will you introduce your friend to me?"
